Odd door in "Stop Longbow from Curing the Infected"
Idiotfool replied to ZorkNemesis's topic in Bug Reports
I'm having the same bug. This was an Ouroboros version of the mission, if that helps. -
how to Guide to Mission Architect: Tips and Tricks 2.0
Idiotfool replied to Prime Elway's topic in Mission Architect
Any idea how @A Humble Farmer was able to create his missions that spawn single bosses, with no minions, not matter the level and group size of the Group Leader? I'm curious if a Lvl 2 version of his Bads in Space would be worthwhile, but I'm only able to make groups of ridiculous numbers, with tons of minions or bosses. -
That's pretty much my build, tidge. I have permahasten, but only by half a second in my planned build. Getting that +Recharge would help ensure that I don't lose out on continuous quickness.
-
I intend to have the +Recharge, as well. From what I read, it's a pseudo-pet, so I don't expect that I'll be able to influence its power, but I thought I'd ask.

Hello, all. I have a Fire/Ice Dominator that I'm leveling up and I finally got Bonfire the other day. So far, the power is great, and I think I'll love it more when I can slot in Sudden Acceleration to change knockback to knockdown. I am curious about how this power is affected by other boost powers, though. Does Domination have any affect, at all, on the magnitude of knock effects? How about /Ice's Power Boost? When I have permadom and permahasten, I'll be able to cast this 3 times. Will this affect AVs? Do Knock powers stack, like holds/disorient/confusion do? I don't want to be greedy, but I'd like to know - how can I make this power even more effective, aside from Sudden Acceleration slotting? Thanks!
-
Still wondering this, too. Someone else said /Ice had a low level hold and as a Fire/Ice, I'm baffled by that statement. What hold in Icy Assault are people talking about?

My main, Cartoon Man, has costumes of my favorite sword-wielding heroes from shows from my childhood. Lion-O, He-Man, Thundarr, Future Trunks, King Arthur, etc. His nemesis, Sinnestar, is an amalgamation of the villains from those same cartoons. Put together Hordak, Skeletor, Mumm-ra, Monstar (Silverhawks), Wrath-Amon (Conan) and you get Sinnestar. Most of my other characters are attempts at CoX lore-friendly designs. Ex-Longbow, Arachnos, etc.

Lord Outgoing - Alternate Dimension version of Lord Recluse
Idiotfool replied to Idiotfool's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, all. I know that Praetorian Stefan was supposedly killed, but I don't know the details. Also, this is a comic universe. Nobody ever really dies. My thinking is that: After the explosion on the island, Billy went out in search of his friend Stefan. Finding him alive, but barely breathing after being mortally wounded by Marcus, Billy was able to stabilize him and get Stefan life-saving medical attention. Though he guessed that Marcus had caused Stefan's injuries, the details Stefan described of his betrayal shocked Billy to the core. Soon after, Marcus made his presence known as the first recorded Superhero known to recent history. Terrified that they may be discovered, the two into hiding for decades, knowing the truth about Marcus' character and seeing him slowly take over the world. Though they tried to stay away from society, over time, they discovered that others knew the truth. Billy and Stefan eventually aligned themselves with the Resistance, but Billy was killed in a raid, Stefan retired and, again, went into hiding. Constantly questioning what he could have done to stop Marcus all those years ago and wondering what he could do, now, while also fearing discovery and retaliation, Stefan was always restless. As Stefan grew older and wizened, near death's door, he decided he had nothing left to lose. Stefan traveled back to the island in an attempt to find the Well, once again. He knew that its power had corrupted his friend, whom he had thought of as a brother, but he also knew that only one who drank from the well would have a chance at fighting back against Tyranny. After struggling through the rubble that now blocked the entrance to the cave, Stefan crawled toward the Well that he remembered so well. The exertion was too much and Stefan's heart gave out. With his last breath, Stefan stumbled and fell, his torso draping the walls as his face plunged into the cool waters. But Stefan did not die. The powers of the Well inundated him, and Stefan arose, again. Age melted away and Stefan regained his youth. Filled with power and hope, Stefan vowed to fight tyranny wherever he found it. Never again would he hide in the shadows, as he dawned the mantle of Lord Outgoing. So, yea, what archetype would he be? -
So, I've been tossing around the idea for a Praetorian version of Lord Recluse - Lord Outgoing - and I'm going through the lore and wanted some assistance. First, where was the story of Marcus and Stefan's discovery of the Well of Furies given? Is this in-game, a comic, or a novel? How about the Praetorian version, where Marcus kills Stefan? Second, was Primal Earth's Billy, Stefan's first kill after the Well of Furies, given any more detail than that Billy was a friend of Stefan's? Third, did Praetorian Marcus become an avatar for both Zeus and Tartarus' powers, or just Tartarus? Fourth, would a heroic version of Lord Recluse, who never associated with Arachnos, be a Mastermind archetype, a Tank, a Scrapper or a Brute? Thanks!

I was under the impression that the Huge body type would have the same costume options as the male body type. I am unable to find "Circle of Thorns 3" as a shoulder option on the huge body type. Does anyone know if it's an option? Do you have it for your huge characters? Thanks!

Same question. I can't fathom where to get perma hasten and that much defense in the slots that we have. Then again, I'm not including anything from the incarnates stuff, so maybe there's defense from there?
-
Thanks. Your thoughts mirror my own, though at level 12, Flashfire is missing about 70% of the time. Hoping I see some improvement as I level and enhance it more, since it currently sucks. For PvE, what are the metrics against stun-lock these days? Can I single target hold a target indefinitely (if it hits) or do I need to alternate stun-types and is that another reason to go with Flashfire, to supplement the single target hold I have? How about PvP, even though that isn't the goal of this character? For your second point: holding bosses was the only reason I was thinking about going with Cinders, too. With hasten and perma-dom, though, I think I'm better off just hitting with Char, twice. With Fire/Ice, I'm going with Chilling Embrace over Hot Feet. Lower End cost and higher apparent DPS with an additional slow to attack speed instead of just run speed gives it the nudge, in my opinion.

Recently, I asked about a defensive Dominator build for my Fire/Ice Dom. I had some pretty good recommendations to shoot for Perma-Dom, first, then start going for defense. Also, some comments indicated I didn't need as many primary and secondary powersets as I had always done, in the past, so I started trimming to the essentials to make room for defense and resistance powers. Char is a given, but I'm not sure on the other holds or disorients. My questions are: Which is better for a targeted AoE: Cinders or Flashfire? If you get both, why? Of the two, would you choose Ring of Fire or Fire Cages? 5-slot with Gravitational Anchor? Thanks!

Between Mu Mastery, Speed and travel powers, along with my actual character powers,, I don't know where I can fit tough and weave into my build. Do you get any other powers to aid in defense/resistance, or if it's not tough/weave, it's just IOs?
-
Thanks for the overview. What set powers are you giving up to get tough and weave, though? Do you have an example build I could see?

Circle of Thorns 3 armor - can't change interior color
Idiotfool replied to Idiotfool's topic in Bug Reports
Someone else indicated that I can save the costume, then edit the file in notepad to change the colors, load in the saved costume, and bingo. For costumes with a variety of colors, this is probably the best approach, but your way (which I wound up doing) works in a pinch. -
Hey, all. Way back when, I ran a gravity/ice Dominator with perma-dom, but barely. It was fun, but squishy, at times. I was used to my BS/SR scrapper, where I didn't really have to pay attention and I basically never died. I still enjoy the character concepts and have re-rolled my old mains as a BS/WP scrapper and Fire/Ice Dom. I planned to go for perma-dom, again, but I'm curious on if there's another playstyle to build for. Does anyone go for a defensive build on their dominators? If so, what secondaries did you go for, or was it all IOs?
-
When I started my character's costume, colors were linked. After selecting the Circle of Thorns 3 shoulder armor, I couldn't change the interior color - the back acts as a cape, of sorts, and has an interior and exterior color scheme. I can give a picture, if needed, but I hope the above explains it well enough.

Recoloring Circle of Thorns 3 Shoulder model
Idiotfool replied to Idiotfool's topic in Help & Support
Yea, you've got it. The shoulder armor acts like a cape, with an interior color that I can't actively change colors on, at will. I'll drop it as a bug report, but thanks for the workaround. -
Hello, I'm trying to change my character's shoulder armor (Circle of Thorns 3), but it isn't working. This armor acts a bit like a small cape, with a different interior (front facing) color than that shown on the back. The only way I can get this part to recolor is to link all colors, then restart the coloring process, but I'd like to know if I'm missing something. Is there another way to recolor this part? Thanks!

I always wanted a transformation type character, going from a skinny little dude to a hulking freak of nature. The live version of the game didn't allow it and I always thought it was because some of the devs were prudes, but I see it's still not a thing. At least, I haven't figured out a way to switch body types, anyway. Is there some technical limitation?
