  1. Willpower is great until you get hit by -regen and suddenly your HP tanks. I've had some hairy moments on my WP tank a few times
  2. As others have said, the name thing isn't live yet and there will be plenty of warning before it does go live. Even then it just changes your name from reserved to available, it doesn't wipe it. So in theory someone can snipe in after the time and take it, but in reality unless it's something really popular or obvious the chances of it vanishing are slim.
  3. For people who have the same problem, as long as you remember the email you used to create the forum account you can get a password reset, then go into game account management and see your login name and change the password
  4. Looks like the usual suspects 😛
  5. But back on topic, The early Admin staff like Cipher, Number Six, Telephone and Jimmy were instrumental to getting us off the ground and running. It was very chaotic in the beginning, and while I don't know who else was involved I do know they spent many sleepless nights getting us off to a good start.
  6. Pah, another one of my schemes rumbled!!
  7. I am. I'm replying to a comment from earlier
  8. We love puppies!! Anyone who says otherwise has never met our puppers!!
  9. If you just want to bind a power to a key with no fancy business you can use the keybind menu in options
  10. Am I missing something? This thread seems to have gone off the rails a while back. Some people have tried to drag it back on topic but I'm getting to the point where I feel like closing it as it's done and going round in circles.
  11. as the person who does most of the generics, and mine 😛
  12. As per repeated requests I've pinned this thread
  13. I have to agree with you. Once you know what you are doing then it is, indeed as simple as can be, but for your first one or two characters? It can be very confusing. I was lucky in that I was in an SG at the time (with Goddess Laucianna* before she became the Goddess) who were really helpful. I was all "OK now what?" and they went through it with me in a way I could understand. I still messed up, but that was my fault. *It was so funny, I left the SG after a year to do my own thing and it was only years later when we were chatting that we realised we knew each other from before 🙂
  14. I have Mender Ramiel pop up as soon as I level up to 50, as well as Officer Nolan in PI to start the Dark Astoria arcs. I agree they can get lost in the list of contacts though. One thing people get confused by is crafting. The Alpha slot doesn't help having two sets of recipes. The top ones are really hard to get components for and are a legacy from live, where you needed multiple notice of the well and could only get one a week. If you scroll to the bottom you'll see simple recipes using threads and Empyrion merits. The creation section is simple enough to use though, click threads to make common and uncommon components and emp merits to make rare and ultra rare. The trick to knowing what to do is knowing where you want to end up. Many incarnate powers plug holes in your build. Do you need more damage? Run out of endurance a lot? die from being mezzed or stunned on a regular basis? There's a power for that. Check out the two tier 4 powers and decide which one you want to finish with. You can't respec incarnate powers so once created you are stuck with it and have to create a new one if you decide something else will be better. Lore is a rather good pet you can summon every ten minutes. some people like the big boys like Banished Pantheon or Longbow, others like the small ones like Polar Lights. I generally go polar lights myself, but some of the human ones can be fun. Judgement is a nuke. Ion jumps between enemies and can be good for very large groups, the others are either a cone, or a AoE. None of them are terrible. Opening slots is as simple as doing content. The alpha slot can be opened quickly doing Mender Ramiel, and he also has a lot of stuff on incarnates and how to create and use them.
  15. As far as I'm aware, all trials are the same. All you need is to have reached level 50 and hit things, and be in the trial when it ends and you get a pick off the incarnate table. Master of has different objectives, but you just need to be inside and complete it to get a component. now waiting for one of my dear friends to tell me I'm wrong 😛
  16. I think it depends on your available inf. For me I generally buy procs and sets as I level. I'll get the three blessing of the zephyr into my travel power at level 7 when it becomes available, and prioritise ATO's. Then as I hit the appropriate level got the procs I need for health and stamina. Otherwise I'll SO until 22 then respec and sell them, then go IO 25's and go up as I hit a level change. When I hit 50 I'll use a catalyst on my ATO's to make the superior, along with any winter sets I need, and buy as many purple sets as I can squeeze in. I buy everything attuned anyway 🙂 I can follow mids when someone else has made a build, I can't create a build from scratch. So generally my powers either have full sets of something or are stacked with useful procs.
  17. Kids these days. Get off my lawn!! That's not music!! When I was a lad..... etc. etc. 😛 And we all love Googly 🙂
  18. Happy Pride. I hope you have as much fun at yours as I did at mine the other weekend 🙂
  19. People play how they play. Sadly for a lot of modern players they expect the grind to 50 to be the difficult part and the fun to start once that's over. Despite all the advice (from myself quite regularly) new players still think there is some magic after 50 and get disappointed when they realise that that's basically it. From now on it's task forces, iTrials and mothership raids. There is still plenty to do at 50, but you need to have worked your way up and spent a lot of inf to enjoy them. I see accounts a month old with a dozen or more 50's. I automatically assume they power levelled up as there is no way they can get that many that quickly. Are they enjoying the game? I hope so. Fingers crossed they get bored sitting in a farm and start actually playing.
  20. glad you worked it out. sometimes its the most ridiculous things
  21. you should be able to install this and fix it https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
  22. In fairness, many characters die a lot early days then get awesome later on. I struggled with a plant dom and illusion controller to start, but with the right powers, more slots and some good sets suddenly I'm a lot more powerful than I had any right to be on paper.
  23. Beware the Mouse!!
