raid Once again asking for an instanced Hamidon Raid
GM Crumpet replied to Laucianna's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Without getting into the pro's and cons that people have mentioned, and speaking as a player rather than a GM, I like the idea of the option of an instanced version. These things go in cycles. The MSR instance languished unused for a long time, but has started to pick up in popularity on Excelsior. Now it's at least 50/50 which version the league leader runs. Each shard has their own way of running these two events, and it's up to the league leaders how they decide to run them. An instanced version would be one more tool for the league leaders to use if they wish. Saying that, I don't know how hard or easy it would be for the devs to make an instanced version. They also have a lot to do so it's a matter of someone having the time to actually create an instanced version. It also might be an absolute nightmare to create. Hami is the only one where multi boxing is forbidden. We relaxed the rule on MSR a long time ago, but Hami is a special case. -
They were/are. Homecoming is actually entirely separate and rose from the ashes after the big reveal. SCORE was a different entity.

Is it time to go to the Rikti home world?
GM Crumpet replied to Player2's topic in General Discussion
To be fair, -
I did say you must have had a good reason to set it up that way 🙂 I'd never thought of it like that, but it makes perfect sense

Timeline of Endgame Arcs/Trials? Avoid Big Spoilers Please
GM Crumpet replied to SoulHeir's topic in General Discussion
I think the night ward arcs come before the fall of Praetoria trials (but I may be wrong) -
Those debt badges don't earn themselves you know 😛 I feel your pain though. I've been in pugs where we have been outmatched, and others where we sailed through. The difficulty setting is the key, and +4 can be rough if the team isn't as experienced or slotted as you'd like. A combination of things can make a fun TF into a nightmare slog you just want to end.

Stuttering, freezing and rubberbanding, OH MY!
GM Crumpet replied to Ultimo's topic in Help & Support
A couple of things we recommend. Reboot your router. Sometimes it gets stuck. Open the laumcher and click the three dots under Homecoming. Click verify. Then click the dots again and settings, then in settings click the reset graphics on next run When you open the game the screen will open in a small box. Click settings and put the graphics to borderless and not windowed. Hopefully that helps. -
Stuttering, freezing and rubberbanding, OH MY!

That's been a problem for years and most of have that error message pop up regularly. The devs keep trying to fix it but it's resistant to everything they try. -
The only problem I see a lot of is people are TOO helpful on the help channel and can overwhelm someone with information. Not a bad thing, I've been in games where you ask questions and its tumble weeds, but sometimes even I get confused with information overload and I know what they are asking about 🙂

The idea of there being an influx of bionic fleas makes my skin itch. Normal fleas are bad enough 😛

I appreciate the confidence in me (though I'd never tell someone to F off 😛 ). I try my best but don't always have the information at hand or it's above my pay grade. The city council is new, the people on it aren't. Chances are you've interacted with them over the years. It's not a shadowy cabal sitting round a table in hoods with their faces in shadow. It's a group of volunteers who try to make the game consistent across the board and build new content they hope people will enjoy. As for unpinning the post, I've done the same myself on occasion when contacted by the original poster. An out of date resource is no use to anyone. If someone wants to make an up to date one then all they have to do is post it and contact any GM and we'll happily pin it as as a replacement. There is no malice involved, and the original poster always has the option to delete instead of unpin if they so wish. I'm always happy to have a conversation with a player, even if we don't agree. As long as it stays respectful and doesn't degenerate into "you suck, man!!" levels 🙂. Some things I know and can talk about, others I can't, and some things I have no idea as they are technical and I'm just an end user and my abilities are limited to hitting the on switch!!

A few months ago I joined a farm and the player insisted we all fight, which is a bit hard on a level 1. He then complained because we weren't his autobots and kicked us for hitting things when he didn't want us to. I gave him one star on Yelp and Trust Pilot 🙂
-
I've edited the original post to remove the name of the player. It seemed fairer than locking and hiding the thread. Just to remind people that naming and shaming other players isn't allowed. And it's rare for a GM to edit players comments, but I think this is an interesting discussion and nothing said so far has warranted more serious action.

That would be nice, but we are stuck with the database functionality we have. Unless we wipe the database and start again with a new database (which I shudder to think how bad that would go down) it's probably impossible

Au Revoir My Friend, you were faithful for many years
GM Crumpet replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
At the moment we still have make a manifest for tequila, but it has to be rolled out manually and checked to make sure it works so there is always going to be a delay when we roll out an update. It's generally not more than a few hours, a day at most. When we do officially drop all tequila support I would be surprised if there wasn't plenty of warning and banners on the forum, plus messages popping up on screen. I'm sure some people will be caught by surprise though. Reading is HARD!! 😛 -
I find it really odd. I logged back in just after Homecoming went live and it was like it had never gone away. The UI was the same, the music was the same, the graphics were better than I remembered, and there were more power sets to pick from. I'd forgotten a lot and had to ask how to get to Striga and PI though 🙂 Sometimes nostalgia isn't enough, and people are never happy. If that player hadn't played since an early issue then maybe there was a lot that was different. You can't always help someone if they just have a negative outlook. All you can do is cut them loose and wish them well.

It's a common question that flummoxes a lot of people. If it was me I'd have had it as multiple instances on by default, but Six must have had a good reason to set it up like that when he wrote it
-
Ah, but will you get the answer you want? 😛
-
Wasn't me who pulled the plug, but I see Booper answered
-
Talking to the people in the city council it was never intended as a slight or as any kind of jab, but a recognition of the work you all did. Saying that, we would never wish anyone to feel uncomfortable so we are more than happy to change something if you ask 🙂
-
If you don't want it I'll see about getting it removed
-
Yeah there was a small delay in updating the manifest on Tequila, so people who use it wouldn't have been able to get on until the update

Need to kick my graphics settings. Need help ASAP on this.
GM Crumpet replied to Hyperstrike's topic in Help & Support
Do you have a dedicated graphics card? Onboard ones are notorious for being terrible. What I found with my laptop was I had to open the Nvidia control panel and in the 3D settings mark the graphics card as default always rather than auto as Windows kept opening the game with the onboard intel chip. I assume other graphics card manufacturers have the same options. -
You do have a point. I can't say as I don't know, but I would assume that will happen when we do finally drop Tequila permanently
