@PLVRIZR for leading a Citadel TF. From reports, both were successful in under an hour respectively.

Tons of fun and done...in 55 min.  We had an equal mix of incarnated and leveling tanks, running a +2/8, full team kill through (and Cit is kill most anyway).  We did have a few defeats...well Witty was on our team... but only when a leveling tank took on a whole room.  Much fun and some FREEM-ing was had.  I took my Fire/Fire, for revenge from the last WST Citadel outing, where he was tossed around like a rag doll (with only 8 pts. KB prot) and just by adding the 4 pt BotZ piece, I was only dropped twice and only when I was soloing a giant room and the KB was massively stacked.  Thanks to @ZemX for the laughs, on both sides of the coin 😆

  2. One of my first-ever toons on Live was a NRG/NRG blaster, and I remade him on HC.  I also modified the concept to an NRG/Martial/Force Mastery blaster and since that pantheon of Marvel heroes also trained in the martial arts, you might consider that combo.

A fun night on Indom with 2 teams running. Many thanks to @PLVRIZR for leading the Yin TF and then some missions after they flattened those Freaks quickly.

It was my pleasure and we had a blast.

Eight tanks, with only a couple incarnates, flattened Clamor (twice) in 38 minutes doing a +2 kill...err "arrest" most.  We also had dings galore and driving my titular toon, PLV even got three more vet levels.  We then went on to banish the map of Banished Pantheon and a bunch of Council chumps on two of the Unai missions.  Fun times were had by all, in my humble assessment.

Catch you all next week on Everlasting!

Regardless of how much defense you add to a build, Fiery Aura has no defense debuff resistance (DDR). Meaning that your defense can be stripped away very easily. I don't worry about soft-capping defense on armors without DDR.

    ^---this

If you gain defense, organically, through set bonuses where you're chasing other bonuses, fine.  I don't focus on +def, on Res armor sets, because I exemp ALOT and when I do I don't have access to incarnates (where Ageless +DDR comes into play).

A fun night on Everlasting tonight with a lot of new faces joining us. Many thanks to @Oterra for leading a team on her continuing missions for Maria Jenkins and to @PLVRIZR for taking a team to beat down the Roman... err Cimeroran oppressors on an Imperious task force.

Next week, July 23rd  we will return to Indom, regular time and place

Grand time on the ITF, starting at +2 and dropping to +1 for the AVs, as half of the team (of eight) weren't incarnated.  Still finished in right at 1 hr., with many, many levels dinged and much herding and mayhem accomplished.  Two (or three?) SS toons and @ZemX's ice melee meant a non-stop barrage of foot stomping gloriousness.  Did a kill through/kill most and even finished the towers and the vast majority of the final map.

See you next week on Indom!

  6. Depends. 😆

I think it was i27p5 that it was updated (someone else fact check me, please).

Since then, I still primarily use Consume for the endurance drain resistance, but I do hit it routinely (for the HP cap increase), certainly not for endurance recovery, specifically.  Don't seem to need it.

My favorite Fire tank (Fire/Fire/Pyre) has it slotted with a full set of Synapse's Shock, for the recharge and EN resistance bonuses.  The movement bonuses, esp. speedrunning is nice, too.

  7. I'm still having issues with Mids, so your slots don't load, but I can give you some of the "usual" Rad Armor feedback:

Without DDR, defense can (and will) be stripped quickly, with "end-game mobs".  While you can take Ageless for the DDR (at least for the incarnate/end-game content), it's still not ideal.  Focusing on maximizing your resistances and 100% slow protection (your absorb shield is your primary mitigation, so it being up is paramount) is what is mostly advised.

Check out @ZemX , @Warboss or @Spaghetti Betty's posts for some serious suggestions on Rad Armor.

A good night of tanking happened on Torchbearer tonight, Two teams running with @PLVRIZR leading us through a Synapse TF in 1:34

Great time with a bunch of veteran TTers and a couple new faces (albeit seasoned tankers).  We ran +2/8, with a team of seven, so much XP and leveling was had.

Fat Burn is a Fire/Fire Tank.  im just going to be using aoe attacks ( Combustion, Fire Sword Circle and Burn and Blazing Aura )

Add Pyre mastery and take Fireball and Melt Armor.  Both AOE and Melt Armor, while a debuffing, rather than damage attack, is awesome.

  10. The decisions can be somewhat arbitrary, in my experience.  I did an homage to Swamp Thing and got the hammer, but I understood.  You can see the thread, here:

Not long ago, I made ATMSMSHR (I didn't find Homecoming until early 2020, so most of my Live toon names were taken, so I went to the "license plate" theme of nomenclature) and he was genericized, due to the DC superhero "Atom Smasher"...which I had never heard of.  Looking the reference up, the costume I created didn't look anything like the original.  No big deal, as a SS tank I just renamed him to ATMSTOMPR.  Kept the costume and have heard nothing else, further.

  11. Thanks again to @Ronin_Around, for organizing the League, during a great turnout on Excel, last night.  I had the honor of leading a KM ApeMage (aka TinPex) TF team and it went swimmingly.  I didn't notice the Apex time (but the total for both was right at one hour), but the Tin Mage was completed in 22 minutes.  We had a full team of eight and a mix of veteran and new-to-TTT players/toons.  Special mention to @MsAligned, who was integral in herding and moving things along.  If you want a clinic on how to build/play a WP/Dark Melee toon, they are the expert.  While my classic VL 525+ Inv/SS toon did fine, I never saw their health bar dip.  Ever.  Beyond impressive.

Catch you next week on Torch (and if anyone from the team is reading, I mis-reported that next week is Everlasting...my bad).

  12. Ice has alot of mitigation tools, so any would work.  Ice/Fire Armor is probably the damage king.  Ice/Ice for thematic reasons.  Ice/Dark for lots and lots of mitigation.  Pick just about anything and have fun with it.

Oh that's really interesting.  I've always loved the animation.  So, what, slotting looks like, Force Feed Back, one Acc, and the rest damage procs?

    Exactly

Oh snap, am I supposed to be taking Hand Clap?

My legacy toons didn't go back and respect it in, but all my new SS toons take it.  Now that it takes FF and damage procs, it's really useful.

A good night on Torch with 4 teams of tanks running. Lots of new face and a few returning tanks as well.   @PLVRIZR led a speedy Yin TF

Well, we didn't call for a "speed run", to start and killed (err, "arrested") everything along the way...including the reactor side rooms, but this small-but-mighty team of six finished a +2 in 36 minutes.  I think all other five tanks were either first time TTTers or had been away from the game since the early days of Homecoming, so it was a hoot to see herds of 50+ around us.

    Fun times, for sure.

And thanks to @PLVRIZR for running a Numina TF

And thanks to YOU, Ronin, for stepping up in Warboss' absence.

We had a good time.  Eight tanks, several newcomers, with a mix of mid-40s and incarnates took down Jurassik in 1:14, with some kill throughs and some run-tos @+2/8.  Special thanks to @ZemX to help lead the herding and running forward, to objectives.  Also no pics, but I can assure you a good time was had.

Questions that apply to both builds:

    • Would you put the Might proc in ET or Bone Smasher? ET will have good percentages, and is theoretically good to spam, but maybe not always suitable to use as often.
    • Consume slotting. I think I've enhanced healing well enough, with a little endmod to help me through tough times. Do you think the extra ~100 max HP is that big a deal?
    • Psionic Damage. Will I survive it at all? I guess I have healing flames, at least! The incidental stun stacking and bit of knockdown will help.

If you see any other elements that stand out as silly to you, I'm open to your review!

If you go the Fireball route, I like Char on my Fire/Fire/Pyre tank, for single target holds and the Entomb +absorb proc.  Since your defense (if you even build for any) can disappear quickly, all the mitigation you can squeeze in is a bonus.  I can't say it's ever held an AV (well, maybe regular Rommie once), but the proc fires.  As you note, Melt Armor is a great power, and it IS effective at debuffing AVs, so Char/Melt Armor/Fireball would be my choice.

For most of my tanks, I put the two ATO procs in the first two melee attacks, since they're in every attack rotation.  Having said that, I went against that on the aforementioned Fire/Fire/Pyre and MoT is in Blazing Aura.  First, it is an *always on* single stack and a decent chance for two stacks; second, so I have the proc in all exemplaring situations and finally, because I don't take Fire Sword.  Unconventional, but the real-world experience is completely positive.

No, I don't think the 100HP (what, <4% of total) is worth it and I slotted a full set of Synapse's Shock.  No, the damage bonus isn't much, but the Recharge, Regen, E/N resist and movement speed bonuses really shine on the final product.  His E/N resist is right at cap (88%) with only one stack of MoT.

My Mids didn't load your slots, so I can't see your totals, but mine is 22%def/50%res for Psi and don't have any problem with Carnie or Arachnos missions, but I don't think I've taken him to any Rularuu or Psi AV arcs...

  18. Paging @Sovera, FA guru.  Check out their signature, as there are several builds.  I went tank (paired with MA...the Brunker build).  Lots.of damage and nigh unkillable, even as a "squishy" armor.

We had 2 full teams on Indomitable tonight, @PLVRIZR led a Market Crash team victory in about 48 minutes

It was a blast, with some new faces and a shout-out to @MsAligned for helping to lead the herding.  We rocked and rolled and the giant Crimson d-bag dropped in about 5 min.  See you next week!
