And we had extra fun with 2 giant mechs on the Hard Mode ITF

For a minute, I thought the 1* HM ITF was being led by @Spaghetti Betty, as I ran (as usual) to the large left room, only to realize they were +4s and loaded with EBs (and nictus infused bosses)...SURPRISE!  The team recovered quickly and thanks @Ronin_Around for dropping it to +2, for the rest of the night.  We had no problem with the dark ambush at +4, but the GMs and AVs would have taken all night, methinks.  Did someone say we were a 7 tank team running at /8 targets? 😆

Lots of leveling and lots of fun.  Final Rommie was a bit of a disappointment and went down like a wet towel.  Great work to everyone who joined and thanks again to Ronin for leading us.

Well somebody around here has to hit harder than a napkin. How else are we gonna finish all of these +4 Enemies Buffed TFs?

Hey, I hit like a wet napkin...(well, except for the latest Rad/SS project 😆).  And I *love* when you add curveballs to the TFs...

On a serious note, I 'd vote (and offer to lead) the Numina, tonight (because I have several toons who only need that for TFC), but alas it is H.S. soccer season and with two boys on the varsity team, we'll be having games on all days, until February.  I should be back home in time to join a missions team so, @Warboss and @MsAligned, look for a tell around 10PM EST! 😁

Not to necessarily bring your build into question, but my Rad/SS runs max procs and has 0 end, recharge, or survivability issues. You've seen it in action. It basically ends up feeling like a melee blaster that can't die in regular content.

For that one I use Musculature Radial for most content and Vigor Core for Hard Mode. I always have Barrier Core loaded and Hybrid is Melee Radial or Assault Radial.

    Thanks.

I dropped a damage proc or two in RT, KB and FS, for 2x winters, to get over 100% slow/recharge resist.  He's still a murderball of unkillable goodness, as well.  With the supposed "proc nerf", I don't see that much difference in damage, but again haven't parsed that deeply into the combat data.

I’d take recharge alpha to try and get rage double stacked perma or close to it.

Ageless is good for ddr but defense isn’t that high and shouldn’t need the end....

    Or both for crazy recharge.

    Liking this, alot.  Thanks.

Hey PLV, did you cruse out the beta site and test the options? Might be the next best play prior to choosing one live.

I have not, but good idea.  Have actually been playing him (you all have seen him on TTTs "ATMSMSHR") and leveling organically.

  6. OK, so a loaded question, for sure, and there will be many opinions.  Fire away with your suggestions and reasoning.

Why am I asking?  My latest project, in preparation for an all Rad/SS Tanker Tuesday event, has now unlocked everything but Hybrid and I've amassed plenty of Emp merits to begin to finalize the incarnated build.

Here's the current 50 build and numbers.  Adding one stack of the MoT +res puts everything but N/C/P to cap.  Fires constantly in Haymaker...

    110.1%+ Recharge/Slow resist.

26.1% Melee Def, without even trying.

Accuracy?  Seems spotty, even with Rage (single stacked) up, but haven't drilled down enough to have hard data.

Near perma-Hasten @ 213% recharge, 145% bonus in the 20-ish seconds it's down.  Foot Stomp every 6.7 seconds.

End use 1.47, Recovery 3.4 - will probably take Ageless for self and team DDR, anyway.

    Hi all.

Every month we donate to keep the servers/shards up and running, and that's cool. But I'll just point out that the HC WIKI also needs some love now and then.  Most of us use it regularly and it's hosted by one lone volunteer by themselves.  So if you're feeling generous wander over there and help keep the lights on.

Three teams tonight on Everlasting. One Manti, thanks for leading PLV

Happy to!  Also thanks to @Spaghetti Betty and @ZemX for zooming ahead and finding the objectives.  We finished in 1:03, with half the team (myself included) not being incarnates/full builds.  Not bad, IIDSSM.

The +4 Manti went great! Much Confusion was had, many agents were stomped, and we only aged about 20 years waiting for old school MoG to wear off!

Here's us dogpiling Hopkins and Countess Crey!

Yeah, those +4 bosses are no joke.   Great pics!

learn the justification for which IOs/powers your choosing so that it will ultimately make you a better player than just slotting out someone else's build and trying to figure it out.

I'd suggest checking the Tanker Tuesday thread seeing where the gang is going in a couple days and rolling/transferring a tank over to that server to run the event and see how other tanks perform and then pick people's minds.

This week (11/14) we're on Torchbearer.  Meet in King's Row, at the Independence Port gate at 9P EST.

I was fortunate to get on Ronin's Citadel team and we finished in 1:02 (and in grand fashion).  Good times, for sure.

Very much appreciate the reply and as I didn't know your in-game @name or forum name I hope calling you NUTCRCKR was alright lol.

I ended up studying your build in a lot more detail after posting and decided to build it!  Took me over 3 hours if I am honest and almost 600 mil inf.

I ran about a dozen PI 54 Radios and my health didn't budge at all which was amazing (to me) and Endurance was no issue at all. I had some Endurance loss fighting some Malta and during a prolonged fight with Scirroco  but otherwise the build was rock solid.  I am very happy with it and I must compliment you on it.

My pleasure and no problem.  Since my global is @PLVRIZR, most just call me "PLV", regardless of which toon I'm logged on with.  I played from 2004 to 2012 "lights out", but didn't find Homecoming until Feb. 2020, so most of my original names were taken.

Glad it worked out and that's one of the great things about this community.  One of the most helpful and collegial groups on the internet.  I would also recommend you checking out a Tanker Tuesday Tour night (schedule is in @Warboss's signature).  Tank only teams and we'll do WSTs and other special events.  There's always a missions team, for those tanks who aren't high enough level to run the weekly TF.  Nothing like watching 8 tanks herd 100+ mobs in a giant room, then melting from AOEs 😆.  You can check out some of the screenshots and stories, here:

Does anyone have any alternative end-game builds for Invul that differ from the one made by NUTCRCKR  (provided below)

For a start I want to use Punch and not Jab as he has done (unless someone can tell me why Jab works better?) but also there are two factors that leave me a little reticent to commit to NUTCRCKR's build.

    i) Global Recharge.  Not sure that the build offers enough to keep Foot Stomp up as often as possible but I am not a min/maxer-theory-crafter so not sure how to measure this.  I think I am reading it correctly that the attached build has a 5.16 second recharge for Foot Stomp (presumably with Hasten active).  Can it be reduced further I wonder?

ii) Playing from level 24 to level 50 two things I noticed about my build using basic IO's were that I was struggling with endurance and had to keep stocked up on Recovery Serum and later also take Conserver Power from Energy Mastery EPP.   Secondly was accuracy,  I found I would miss on attacks occasionally and also ended up taking Focused Accuracy which is a massive end hog.

Any tips from Invul enthusiasts with end-game builds appreciated.

    Howdy, @NiteCloak

Like many questions in the forums, much depends on your personal definition of "definitive" and what your personal goals are.  I built that toon, so I'll give you some of my personal insights.  Lemme start with playstyle and (as a retail 2004 player) I consider myself more of a purist, than a hard core min/maxxer.  Not to say I don't maximize when it fits, but it's not about eeking out the last .00001 of something.  (P.S.  If you want the tankiest version, you'll need to find @Hyperstrike and the "Mo Durable" build).

Punch:  I never liked the animation of punch (half of Haymaker) so I prefer Jab.  I also slot it with the full SGF set and its fast recharge and constant use means the absorb proc fires constantly.  On that note, there are those who will split SGF into two sets of three, to double the E/N resist (to 12%), but I used other strategies for that.  Probably half my 500+ vet levels, on this toon, are from ITFs of all sorts, but I've never had E/N problems.

For one of the best tanker AOE attacks in the game, Foot Stomp at 5.16 sec recharge (or 7-ish with Hasten on cooldown) sounds pretty good to me. 😆 I also like to keep purple sets together, so Foot Stomp gets all six Armageddons (which does have 10% recharge), along with the proc which still fires during Rage crash (and a couple more choice bonuses).

Recharge:  You could find a few more places for LotGs, but defense slots are few and precious, in Inv (e.g. 4 Shield Walls in CJ, for E/N resist)

Inv has a great heal, but no end management, so with Generic IOs you will have to manage your end, but there are a lot of ATs which fall in that category.  You duly noted Recovery Serums are great (and cheap).  I only used the "standard" two slot for Stamina, with the proc and end mod.  Once incarnated, Ageless (Radial tree for the DDR, especially for your teammates) takes care of any and all end problems.

Accuracy:  The reason Super Strength works is Rage.  Single stack is 99% to hit bonus (perma) and double stacked (123%).  Sure I also occasionally miss (but routinely am fighting +4s and debuffed.

While I *hate* being blinded, and take FA (and Energy Mastery) on many of my tanks, I went a different route with NUT.  Pyre Mastery is great with the single hold Char (for sappers and the like) and it also takes the Entomb proc for another absorb shield.  Two slotted also gets 6% F/C resist and I enjoy helping on Fire Farms, so that's a good thing.  Furthermore, you then get Melt Armor, which is an amazing AOE debuff, which really helps in those long AV slogs.  I three slot it with Exploited Vulnerability, well, because it's only a three slot set (and cheap).

Random thoughts.  Hurl:  Nice to have a ranged attack (which includes grounding fliers) and I three slot it with Far Strike (another only three slot set), with some Toxic/Psi resist and a couple extra hit points as baby bonuses.  Tough:  Gets two slotted (muled) with Impervium, is never toggled on.  Unstoppable:  gets muled with Impervium, but is also never used (not even in my tray).

Bottom line, you can't really go wrong with Inv/SS, so enjoy it and let us know how you wind up.

Playing herd tank for one of those is at least somewhat interesting.  But nothing like the small all-tank raids we're doing.

I was late to the party, so missed the pylon destructions, but made it to the bowl in time.  Was immediately tasked to herd and PLV, with minerals on full tilt, had no issues bringing any and all bosses to the kill zone.

@Spaghetti Betty, I was late because I thought I was gonna get a quick +4/8 ITF on Exc, with NUT, but ran into an old friend in @Cassie Knight, who was forming a 4*HM.  They were kind enough to let me tank for them and we finished in just about an hour.  Reminded me that I have a rain check for a run with you, as well 😆

The steamroll Market Crash after the MSR was also a good time.  Got another couple levels on my leveling build Rad/SS.  Four or five more to 50.

I always buy 8 hours of defense amplifier (really all three amps) for dirt cheap from P2W at level 1, then run a DFB and pick the hydra defense rewards.  That'll take a defenser like Shield through those pesky low levels in style.

    ^---this.

@ZemX is a super pro and anyone would be wise to follow his advice.  The P2W amplifiers are (as noted) super cheap at lvl 1 and make the initial grind a whole like more enjoyable...and this goes for any and all archetypes.
