  1. I used the random button on a toon that became my first 50 on live and on HC I think it was my 2nd 50 who was made randomly. I struggle with concepts and costumes so I've got like a dozen or so "thought out" looks and then a parades worth of toons who are just slightly tweaked presets.
  2. I love the pumpkin head to death but it doesn't match anything I've wanted to make. On the more used side I think I have regular old cape on maybe 4 or 5 of my most played toons.
  3. My dad and his partner were into the game from week 1 and got me and my many siblings into it. My mom caught wind of the game (separate household) and got into it herself. Two computer households became a thing and we were all playing across 3 accounts for a long while. We all kind of stopped around 3 years in and the only ones back now are my mom, older brother, and myself. As for torch assuming, a little. I didn't recreate any of my old toons but I made homages to ones my family members played. My emp/psy defender isn't even fun to play but I nearly 50'd it out of sheer nostalgia for the sound effects since that was my dad's main for his entire time playing.
  4. Secretkeeper the Inv/SS tanker. I don't tank ever unless it's for family and usually small time tasks like just a random story arc. But he's my mom's favorite so he has to stay.
  5. Agility is lookin like the clear winner, thanks Psy
  6. I have three Traps/ and at least one looks like they'll hit 50. Then I want to get right to incarnate slotting. I'm leaning towards Agility or Cardiac for End and the other goodies they come with but I am not certain and was wondering if any long time Traps players or otherwise knowledgeable folks had a clearer answer.
  7. I'd love to try a hard or a starred something at some point but I dont have a character juiced enough, I don't think. only comment I can really make is that I can tell from the outside that barrier is a must and that the PUG scene is miniscule. I think one person runs frequent pugs, right? JJANG I believe.
  8. I have like four solo strongholds and they are all wretched little hallways with bare walls save for one which I added a basketball hoop and some detergent to. I invite my mom and brother to these if they want but my brother has his own SG and it has an amazing base that probably took days to make. I play with those two fairly frequently but our available times dont always line up. I like everyone I've ever played with and two of them have added me and that's about it for friends. I'm a cowardly gamer that won't take that first step.
  9. Slot as I go with what I can afford. prioritize end reduction and accuracy across the board pre-50. eventual goal on most toons is a decent defense base as I get closer to the level cap. If they are melee the goal is a GOOD defense base and possibly capped resists in some spots based on the power set. Only damage I get comes from one or two enhancements per attack and they are usually there to fill out a set. I have read some guides on proc'd out builds and they do seem fun but they always come with the disclaimer "prepare to die!" so my cowardly gamer tendencies have kept me from trying one out.
  10. That change actually sounds really cool, I'd love to see it.
  11. uberguy says Instant Healing has a cast time of 1.17s. I think if we're getting this set buffed any time soon, we need to start small. make Instant Healing instant, get that "arcana time" out of there.
  12. but the triple black flip on Evade... I wanna see what other sets are doing that SR is purportedly falling behind on!
  13. Love MMs. I was averse to them all the way up until the changes on Page 5. Ninja/TA is now my most played single character and Necro/Dark Miasma isnt too far behind. I'm not the best build maker but I got the Necro pretty tanky and the Ninjas are just pure damage and debuff. Very squishy, myself especially, but between Flash Arrow and the new defense slotting opportunity for them everything is still very doable. The chain of crits you can see while maintaining the MM attack buffs is always wild. That Ninja build was the first I tried soloing certain things. Crimson Prototype +4/x8, Kronos Titan, etc. I have plenty more to try to solo but the damage output and happy feet of new ninjas mixed with all the crazy stuff TA does kicks ass. I plan to try other primaries eventually due to how much I've enjoyed those two. End costs... when I said the Ninjas were slotted for "pure damage and debuff" I am mentally including the ability to keep firing as a part of that. I gave up on so many defense set bonuses to grab more max end and recovery. Brutal. The Necro doesnt feel it at all because of Theft of Essence in Twilight Grasp, however. The costs are high but the solution was easy. Petless MM? Can anyone make a MIDS for "Bee Thrower Man" real quick? It can be any secondary but I just want Call Swarm from BM as my only power from the primary.
  14. Super Reflexes is my favorite set in the game because of Elude. Getting your butt kicked, saying "Let's see you beat me up now!" and doing a triple backflip in place from a standing position. As a super power. It works, too. You do the triple backflip and every enemy, out of awed respect, don't hit you for 3 minutes.
  15. DJ Zero maybe? He's a mover and a shaker.
  16. good grief im no good with the quoting. my mom came back and told me about it, not hers lol.
  17. replace "dad" with "mom" and thats how I came back.
  18. Trick Arrow or Dark Miasma. They have a lot going on which means you can apply some type of very relevant debuff regardless of scenario. -ToHit in lowbie content is amazing, -regen and -RES are always stellar. I like debuffing because of how helpful it is. Same as buffs. I make the team win faster or lose slower. I never know what I'm going to get in a PUG so knowing I can make EB/AV/GMs a lot squishier (and cover up how squishy some of us may be) feels like a good "role" to play.
  19. You may know this already but if your anchor toggle target starts heading for the hills, turn the toggle off. Any enemy that debuff-holder runs past will aggro. Specific to Rad, choking cloud pretty much just works on minions. For small groups and soloing it's handy but you might not care for it in large groups where minions tend to disappear instantly anyway. Some say its a skip, I say it's a "maybe".
  20. solo I play masterminds. only AT I have more than one 50 of. I am not confident in my ability to play them in a group however. I can't walk and chew bubblegum at the same time. being a buffer or debuffer while also keeping the kids from blocking a doorway or worse... mmmm. teams I have defenders and a blaster. the small group I play with tend to stick to a mix of brutes and defenders/corrupters so I end up bringing the blaster if we are actually doing something that requires more than brawl and a can-do attitude. not need brian cell for click of nova. please resurrect me.
  21. Bane Spider Ruben and Dean MacArthur are nicer to you than any of the Paragon contacts I can think of. For an Arachnos guy, Harvey (he puts himself on a first name basis right away) is so friendly it's suspicious. If you give him a hard time at any point, or even every point possible, he's just very patient with you. For being such a swell fella mixed in with all the actual psychopaths in CoV I always give him want he wants during the arc. Dean is awkward but endearing and he looks out for you multiple times even after you stop doing his missions. I guess that's less of a "favorite arc" answer and more of a favorite contact one, though. That's a distinction I've never made before. Honorable mentions to Crimson Revenant, Diviner Maros, Leonard, and Vincent Ross. They round out the Villain Pal's of Crime.
