    I don't know what power @FrauleinMental uses to make this pose, but I like it 😄

    That looks to be either Psionic Dart or Telekinetic Thrust, though I could have sworn that occasionally Psionic Lance uses this pose (maybe the in-combat quickshot?).  Most of the other Psionic Assault powers seem to pose with some variant of hands to head.

    True! Whisky from Scotland is Scotch (note the missing E), whiskey from Canada is Canadian Whiskey, bourbon is whiskey made in Kentucky, any others?

    At Walgreens yesterday I saw that Crown Royal has their Salted Caramel out for the holidays. So guess what I'm sipping on right now? Happy Saturday night! (And no, I don't just buy it for the snowflake pouch 😛 although I do have quite a collection of all the colors 😄 )

    EDIT: I just looked at my Crown Royal bottle and it too spells it without the E.... "whisky"..... and it's Canadian. So I think I have my spellings mixed up. 😮

    Scotland spells it without the 'e', most bourbon uses the 'e' (though Maker's Mark omits it).  I hadn't kept up with Canadian as much.  Bourbon doesn't have to be from Kentucky, though around 95% is, just American.

    So whiskey talk: normally, I'm a Scotch drinker when I can splurge on it - either Macallan or, as a serious treat, Aberlour.  Here and there, I've tried to get into drinking bourbon but have yet to find one that I like.  I thought Bullet and Buffalo Trace were a bit too antiseptic for my taste.  Any suggestions for ones to try?

    Those are typically too peppery for my taste (lots of rye in the mash bill), which can come off as astringent, but they can be good in a cocktail like an Old Fashioned (where the sugar balances out the rye).  You might try something with less rye and/or more corn (maybe even some wheat).  Maker's Mark is my go-to, but Rabbit Hole, Evan Williams, Knob Creek, and Wild Turkey might work.  Anything with an age statement might be old enough to mellow out the taste.

    I love Scotch as well, but it's been a lot more expensive since the tariffs increased 5-ish years ago, and inflation hasn't helped.  Macallan used to be my benchmark for 12-year whiskies, though I'm also a fan of Bowmore and Lagavulin when I can get them.

    Oh I've been to Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Evan Williams experience in downtown, Angel's Envy. We hit a few places every time we pass through.

    I did go to Angel's Envy this trip as well.  It seems like a good example of a new/modern distillery.  I did the "bottle your own" experience last time I was there, in 2019, but they've definitely remodeled since then.  Their bourbon selection is pretty limited, though, and a lot of the expressions they list on their website were limited runs that they don't make/sell any more.  (The gift shop only offered their flagship bourbon/port cask, the rye/rum cask, and they're pushing pretty hard with the single barrel version.)

    Last time I was at Buffalo Trace (2019), I got a bottle of Blanton's for $60.  I haven't seen it for under $150 recently, it's rarely under $200, and the two bottles I saw at Justin's House of Bourbon were marked at $250 each.  (But Justin's is overpriced, more of a place to experience than a place to buy from.)

    I have fond memories of visiting the Jack Daniels distillery when I lived in the south. Where did you go? I realize Kentucky is Bourbon Country, but I guess I lump all of the southern states together. LOL (except Florida, which has more migrants/tourists than southerners!)

    Kentucky.  Mostly Louisville, except for a nice long country drive out to the Maker's Mark distillery, about 1.5 hours from there.  It's my favorite bourbon distillery, but it's very out of the way and a bit of an adventure even with GPS.  (Or especially with GPS, which never gets it quite right.)

    11/25 - Thanksgiving Break *unless peeps will be around! If so, let me know and I'll change it.

    Had a nice little weekend trip to Bourbon Country, which is fitting for my pick for this week:  Whiskey River - Mind/Psi Dominator.

    I'm probably going to be online during Thanksgiving Break, but I'm all for keeping it informal.

    Hopefully, we can pick up more people. I don't think we can do this trial with only three.

    It's problematic with fewer than 4, since the force field generators need to be taken down with some synchronization.  (And, of course, putting enough damage on the Hydra.)

    OTOH, it's not like the other WSTs this week are easier...MLTF and LRSF.

    If the fruitcake was an inspiration what would its effect be?

    The opposite of an Ultimate--decreases your combat level by 1 for 3 minutes.  As with Ultimates, blocks Ultimate use.

    As an added "bonus," cannot be sold or deleted; must be consumed or given to another player to get rid of it.  If you consume it, a popup window shows the list of previous owners so you get the full horror of seeing how many times it's been regifted.

    I updated the MOTD with it. Now we just need a sign-up sheet by whomever wants to run it for us. 🙂

    I'll give it a go, since I now have a qualifying character. 🙂

    10/28 - Ice Mistral (Level 35-40 - Red Side - St. Martial) - "It's raining Cats and Dogs" Costume needs to have wolf/cat/feral pieces and theme, powersets should be the usual suspects: claws, savage, beasts MM,  maybe spines or staff.

    Sign-up sheet:

    @FrauleinMental:  Liminal Pain - Claws/Dark Armor Stalker

    @Burnt Umber:  Pepsis Regina - Mind/Savage Dom

    @Midnyte:  Lone Wolfette - Claws/Regen Stalker

    @Bananiac:  Wyldebeast Witch - Beasts/Dark Mastermind

  11. I haven't tried this, since I don't have one, but does the target dummy count as an enemy for purposes of Kinetics powers (Transfusion, Transference, Fulcrum Shift)?  I've had issues where if my primary target drops during the casting of Transference or Fulcrum Shift the power fails (I think they fixed that for Transfusion a few Pages back), so a more durable target that I can use just as FS fodder might be an interesting thing to try because targets do melt away in ToT leagues.  Would that be a net gain or a net loss to the league, though?

    What time of day do these normally kick off? I vaguely remember around 1000 Mountain time?

    Yep, "high noon" Eastern.

    Love the signature, btw. 😉

    10/21 - Imperious Task Force (Level 35-50 - Cimerora (which is both sides, right?) - "It's water but it's not" - 1 Powerset must be Water Blast, but make it look like it's something else - Any AT (hope everyone has a high enough Level WB toon? If not, there's still time to get one to level 35 😉)

    10/21 - Ice Mistral (Level 35-40 - Red Side - St. Martial) - "It's raining Cats and Dogs" Costume needs to have wolf/cat/feral pieces and theme, powersets should be the usual suspects: claws, savage, beasts MM,  maybe spines or staff.

    10/28 - TBD

    Any suggestions for the last week?

    Ice Mistral is the WST for 10/28, so the last week should be taken care of.  (10/21 is listed twice.)

  14. I don't know the TF inside and out, but I'm relatively familiar with it.  It's mostly Rularuu and Crey.  Don't count on stealthing much (the eyeballs ignore stealth, as do the frequent ambushes).  There's a lot of travel back and forth between the City and the Shard, so Team Teleport is really useful.  Indeed, the proliferation of transportation powers is the main reason this TF can be done in 2 hours instead of 8.

  15. The ToT event, whenever we run it, might work better with a theme like "Wear a ToT costume" since you get tips from knocking on doors in a costume power.  You could even show up not having one, since you'll probably get one pretty quickly from knocking on doors.  We could almost make a tips badge run as the event, though I'm not sure if the tip gives the badge to everyone or just the tip holder.

    https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Halloween_Event_2010#Whispered_Rumor_Tip_Mission

    We could do a "Before and After" theme of it.  "Before" is a plain costume (like plain tights), and "After" is with an active costume power.

    I was trying to plan for that, as well, and have been following the travel news and trips offered. I had hoped to view it in Albuquerque but then abandoned the idea because too much going on in my life for another trip out there so soon, plus it's the same weekend as the Balloon Fiesta. Where do you plan to view it?

    I'd thought it'd be cool to go to Crater Lake, which is on the main path (around 90% obscuration), and maybe get some interesting pictures.  But I have enough other stuff going on that I don't want to travel any more right now, so I'm staying home in Alabama (around 55%).

    There are a bunch of events being planned for the total eclipse on 8 April 2024, and I'm a few hours' drive from the totality path.
