Thanks @MoonSheep but I have corruptors a-plenty and I had rolled this one specifically to be my first Emp and as a defender. To mostly be in a supportive role when exemping down to work on teams not at max levels.

@Doomguide2005 Thanks for your feedback and I'm looking forward to seeing your build. I've currently got this guy parked in the Hive for Hami raid healing (Early Bird on Torch so there's always at least 1 round of clearing mitos) but I would like to take him for more team oriented and exemping activity throughout the city. I could add what you come up with as a 2nd build but I have the feeling what you come up with will be just as useful for Hami raids as what I have currently. By the by, I have the resources available to afford pretty much whatever you come up with, excepting a slew of D-Syncs...I have an aversion to the Aeon SF.

Hi folks. On live my first 50 was a radiation/electric defender and I've recreated him on HC. I had a couple other defenders on live and on HC but I decided to try my first Empathy char a while back. He's pretty decent but about 15 sec sort of perma-hasten and I'm sure he can be tweaked for improvement. I've seen the Emp guide @MonteCarla made and comments made by @Doomguide2005 but I'm open to most any recommendations/build suggestions. Thanks for your help! Bobby_emp_ar_Defender.mbd

As a player who is experienced enough to know which zone is which and how to get to them, I use AE and/or events to power level alts when I feel comfortable with my knowledge of the power choices on that alt. If I already have a tank with given powers and want to try a brute with the same power sets to see how they differ, or mix with a different primary/secondary to see how they synergize. If I'm trying power sets I haven't used before, I'll usually run in level appropriate teams/missions to get an understanding of the powers, at least up to the 20's if not 30's. At that point I know what powers I have, when and how to use them for a team's benefit, and can see if I like it enough to start slotting in IOs.

My IKM tank is a sometimes Hami taunter. Who cares about a long windup when all you really want to do it keep the giant jelly's attention on you while the league defeats the mitos.

Heather Townshend's arc in Dark Astoria is repeatable and provides incarnate rewards. There are only a couple missions, are fairly easily soloed and can be completed in 15 min-ish once you've done it a time or two.

I've appreciated and used your COHModd for quite some time, @Michiyo (although I had issues similar to @Snarky but resolved them with a fresh install of HC last year)! Welcome to HC to you and all the players on Victory!

I tend to take my fully-end-build 50's and join low level teams. They usually exmp down pretty well, for the most part, and show me where I may need to reconsider when/where I take powers in the build. I try to backstop the lowerbies as they work through the mission because it's way too easy to bust out the "look at me" and take over the team/mission...I mean, I DO try. And you may get to meet some new people, experience arcs you did but don't remember, or, just maybe, have fun again. Cheers!

At some point after I recreated and leveled the Kin/Fire 'troller I had on live, I decided to flip the script and made a Fire/Kin 'corruptor...same power sets but obviously plays VERY differently. And both VERY fun and effective (aside from those uncontrollable fire monkeys on a sugar high!). Sometime later, I decided to try something similar, a Ice/Dark dom and a Dark/Ice corruptor. These I did back to back and deliberately didn't take the pets so I could more directly compare the control vs the damage from each build. I did much the same with an Ice/Ice dom and a Cold/Ice corruptor. Of course, I have a number of Invul/ and /Invul because...why wouldn't I? Only one is paired with SS, the rest are all varied in the damage powersets and all of them are good fun and very survivable as you'd expect from a solid Invul build. I don't have as many alts as some here on the forums but I generally take them to 50 and incarnate abilities and fully build them out before with going back to run one of the others or, sigh, getting inflicted with a fresh round of altitis to start the cycle all over again.

I have to admit, I don't generally worry about adding specific pets. On the other hand, my main/badger recently got the Pet:Mini Hero 1 so I may have to start working on merits so I can 'collect them all'!

Thanks Greycat, I've been here on HC for more than a couple years, on live before that, and I'm still learning new things. As the saying goes, any day you learn something new is a good day!

When bringing up the Server Friend window/list, you have the option, by right clicking the name, to Add/Edit notes on that player. Global Friends, Global Ignore and the various Channel 'Friend' windows/lists don't have that option unless that account is online. It would useful to be able to add or view a note from that window for someone who you enjoyed teaming with enough to gfriend or accept a gfriend invite. My apologies if this has already been brought up but I haven't been able to find it if it has.

I recently leveled up my first Grav controller...I don't have Fold Space but I do have Wormhole which can have a similar impact. I tend not to use it unless I'm solo but I'm trying to begin to use it in specific situations. Wormhole has knockback and disorient components which Fold Space does not. I've been trying to use it by targeting the mobs around the tank to drop them on the tank. With KB to KD slotted and disorient emphasized it can add some extra mitigation, especially if the tank begins to have trouble. It can also be helpful to bring another group to drop at the feet of the tank (or brute, etc) for aggro management and team AOEs.

Plenty of us have multiple alts that we want to slot up to have the best enhancements that we can. But we also have old alts that we don't play much (or at all) that have some of those 'best' enhancements. Not all of us are floating in inf as @ukase but I'll admit have have plenty on hand if I need it. So my question to the audience is; Do you tend to move enhancements from one alt to another, do you leave them on an old alt that you don't use much/any, do you take and convert them to new enhancements, or do you just buy the new enhancements for the new alt. I understand, most 'normal' IO enhancements are getting cheaper these days. Even the usual 4 for health to help both green and blue bars are under, well, we won't talk about specifics here.\\ Anyway, do you feel it's worth it to save and convert or just sell and buy or do other?

I'm glad this topic got posted. As @TygerDarkstorm mention, "MSR's and Hami are the exception to the rule and well known as group fly friendly events". While this may be true, I was on an Earth/Storm 'troller on a Hami the other day when someone toggled on Group Fly. Earth Control has Stalagmites which is a nice -Def (which requires the user to be on the ground) that I rotate with other -Def powers to help take down the Mending Mitos (this is on Torch EarlyBird Hami where all the Mitos are taken down). When Group Fly began to impact me and my power rotation, I politely (and sarcastically) thanked the person in League for reminding me to visit Null. I did so immediately after that round of taking down Hami. Seeing this post today reminded me to cycle all my Hami alts through PD which I was able to do before the maint this morning. All that said, the OP, after being on 75% of the TF, decided to deny the team leader's request to not use GF. I don't know if it was a single request or if the request came with an 'or else' but the team lead was indeed within their rights to boot. If your time was THAT important to you then you could have simply complied, turned off GF, then completed the TF. Simple.

I was converting a 44 Glimpse of the Abyss: Chance for Psionic Damage, out of set, Rare to Rare. The conversion window shows the resulting Touch of rthe Nictus: Healing/Absorb/Recharge is a level 50 (and unavailable for use by my level 43 character). The Enhancement in my tray correctly shows that it is level 44 and potentially usable. There was no issue with further converting the enhancement.

I've seen this WAYYYY too often in an Incarnate trial when the league star gets to someone unexpected. You tell in chat to pass the star to the league lead, you sent personal messages and nothing.... your last response is to start a vote to kick from league but should that really be the option there if they're still participating?

I didn't see it at first either but the change is to Energy Torrent. IF you have Laser Beam Eyes you have the option to customize Energy Torrent to Bright/Dark Laser Sweep.

I don't know why I hadn't seen this post before...maybe because I only recently decided to bite the bullet (so to speak) and create a PB. She is just hitting her 40's and will probably be there for a bit but I'm following Laucianna's build guide. This is my first PB. On the other hand, I had 2 'shades on live and my current 'shade was my first 50 on Homecoming and is my badger. I still had my bind files from live and tri-form is my preferred playstyle for him. I have 3 complete builds for him, one of which doesn't have Hasten to avoid having to drop back to human form when it's up. The second build very similar to GM Crumpet's Warbandit build, replacing Shadow Slip and Orbiting Debt with Weaken Resolve and Burnout. I'll admit that I've generally used the no-Hasten build more frequently but I may have to look into using this second build more often. The third build was designed around not using toggles before the changes which made that unnecessary.

I didn't get to be there for the event but I DID go early to see the base and stage. @Enchantica even tried to give me a door prize just for showing up! I'm glad to hear it was a good time...hopefully there will be future opportunities on a day/time when I can be there. Maybe the Bastage will put on his Sunday best. 😁
