Favorite Flavor of Defender Teamate
Eiko-chan replied to PhotriusPyrelus's topic in General Discussion
The one that I am friends with. But all of my friends are old now and outgrew this game. -
There is code that keeps players from being one-shotted. If you are at full health, you will be left at 1 no matter how much damage you take, barring certain "scripted death" effects. The attack he hit you with was Total Focus, which is one of (if not THE) single highest-damage attacks in the game. Even Tankers usually feel the pain of a Total Focus hit. Defence is only a chance to not be hit; even capped, you will always have a 5% chance of being hit. And the AV design is such that they do, in fact, smash right through the "squishy" classes, like Defenders. Without a tank - which could be a Tanker, a Brute, an Arachnos Soldier or Widow, or Kheldian - or a very-well built Scrapper and maybe even Stalker or Mastermind - you're not really supposed to be able to "do something" about getting hit by a Archvillain. But that was like... half the ATs in the game I listed. So there's a lot of options available to players. ETA: Heck, with the right combo of Defenders, you could do it with Defenders too. Enough Defenders can buff people into Tanker levels of toughness regardless of AT. You still would have been reeling from the Total Focus, though. That's a beast of an attack.

Money making in CoV/H (and how I dont do any of it)
Eiko-chan replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I'm seeing a lot more than fangs, and I didn't even have to pay! -
@RudraIt's been a while since I failed that mission to see what happens, and the Wiki doesn't have the info, but I believe I remember that the Nictus dies if not extracted in time, not that it takes over. Or, perhaps, the Circle and Crey were not tuned as highly as the Council were. But yes, I do maintain that the punchable fascists who are explicitly called out in game as being eminently punchable (see Marchand's New Praetorian arc) should remain eminently punchable because punching fascists is fun for the whole family. And villains too. 😁

Eiko-chan replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Great, just what I needed. Yet another character concept to run with. 😜 -
And yet if you wait out the timer, your character does not get deleted because they are now a member of the Council, controlled by the Nictus inside them. Nor do you become a Warshade. Galaxies are not Warshades (who are just Nictus that know what consent is).
-
Point 1: Among the Archvillains. Galaxies are not actual Nictus. There is a redside mission in Cap that makes this explicit - Galaxies are imbedded with Nictus fragments, not full Nictii (you serve as host to one for a brief period, gaining a Galaxy's powers, before having it extracted.) Point 2: Galaxy Adjutants - the Lieutenants - demonstrate the same resurrection and teleportation abilities as the Archons. Who, once again, are not Warshades/Nictus in the Lore.
-
OMG no. "Avoid the red circle" design is that absolute worst "innovation" in MMOs and it really has absolutely no place here. Keep that shit in Advanced Mode and iTrials.
-
NuCouncil should not appear until level 50. Or possibly even only in Incarnate content.
-
Shin, please re-read what I posted. Absolutely nothing I've said anything about is about Advanced Mode content. I explicitly said I wasn't talking about Advanced Mode. And you absolutely can know you don't like something without trying it first. You know you don't like being burned by acid or fire. You know you don't like eating feces. You know you don't like being unable to breathe. None of these things are things you need to experience to know you don't like them. Just like I don't need to experience even harder group content to know that I already don't like group content in this game, which is why I play solo. That way the stupid stuff I do doesn't affect other people, and the stupid stuff other people do doesn't affect me.
-
Yup. People do this all the time. You do this. You do not have to try things to know you don't like it. And it's really infantile to insist people have to try things - and buy things - to decide it isn't for them.
-
FTR, I don't play Advanced Mode stuff, do not care to, and am not commenting on the content contained therein. From some of the discussions I've seen going around it seems like it's all a completely different game from the core game, and if there's people that want to play that, more power to them. No skin off my back. As long as all those things remain inside Advanced Mode and don't bleed out.

For the record, the first page and a half of this thread were on the General forum, not the Suggestions Forum. My suggestion post started here:
-
Except I started the second thread only after being directed to by a different GM. There was no need to merge threads. If you insist on directing where the responses went, closing the General thread would have been a better solution.
-
That was my post in the General forum. My post in Feedback was a much clearer "this is bad and should be changed" post, but is now buried on page 2 or 3 because a GM merged the threads together for some reason that is still unclear to me.
-
There sort of is, but it relies on ultra-precise parsing of grammar and could be way more clear than it is. The fact that it says "level X and level Y" tells you that you need to craft badges of both levels, not one or the other. (The fact that it says "of A type or B type", conversely, tells you that either (or any, in the case of multiple types) will work.)
-
You have to craft half of the count at level 15 and half at level 20. If it's an odd number, the off-count can be of either level. This is the case for all the badges with a range of levels.

Every single Patron Arc ends with you tossing Recluse's own mask at his feet that you tore off his corpse in an alternate future where he had just finished defeating the Freedom Phalanx - ie, at the absolute height of his power. He sends you on the Strike Force against the Phalanx because he can't do it himself. Both politically and from the standpoint of power. You absolutely do not end up "just another lackey" of Arachnos in CoV. You end up an independent power that they can't do anything about.

The space is not alphanumeric.

Back on the live servers, every time the Cape Radio did Villain Nights, they were in the Golden Giza. There's even a (fairly small) dance floor in there. It'd be a fair amount of work, but St. Martial is a great candidate for this.

Freakshow to Radio/Paper missions 40+ for both sides.
Eiko-chan replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All I know is I stopped Malta from robbing a bank in a regular stop the bank robbery radio mission (not a Safeguard) last week. -
Actually, no, you need to be an adult and recognise that the Travel Power Pools aren't comparable to the other Pools. Fighting, Medicine, Leadership, and Presence are a different category of pools from the Travel Pools (due to the addition of Infiltration, Stealth is now basically a Travel Power Pool now.)* And if you want to do that comparison, Tactics and Maneuvers are gonna swap positions in the pool. *(And Experimentation, Force of Will, and Sorcery are a weird hybrid experiment of a new way to do Travel Powers.)
-
Aha! I had misinterpreted your goal. I thought this was a "I wanna be friends with all the contacts!" goal, not "I want everything to be even and pretty!" goal. Carry on. 😁
-
The contact bars do not remain filled after completing a Ouro arc, however.

Malta already shows up in Radios.
