I am glad to hear I wasn't alone!

It is tough to level up Praetorians to 50 with little payout, but this community is amazing enough to come together and make it worthwhile! I did do it without AE (nothing against storylines on AE, I just don't want to be accused of powerleveling to 50). I will look at the available Praetorian story arcs on AE as I am working on leveling my Loyalist next.

There's a dedicated Gold side AEs thread on here somewhere.  I'll look for it.  And @Darmian's AEs are all set between Neutropolis and First Ward, so around 19-20 to 25.

PS, @Darmian, write more Gold stuff!

Edit:  Here we are, and it's @Darmian again, I should have guessed!

  2. Hi @Zepp.  That's very cool!

If @Darmian doesn't mind me being fannish then let me say that their Praetorian AEs should IMO actually be part of the game.  You're Resistance so I'd start with "The Spark of the Blind" (Arc id 40403) , "Damnatio Memoriae" (Arc id 41140)  and  "The Eve of War"  (Arc id 41583), but the Loyalist trilogy is great too.

  3. Apart from the HC Dev's Choices there are (currently) 11 other Dev Choice arcs that were "grandfathered" into the current Hall of Fame line up.

Through Rose-Tinted Glasses by @leese. Arc id 22.

The Most Important Thing - Best Hero Arc '09 by @Aisynia. Arc id 33.

The Wretch's Gift by @Aisynia. Arc id 34.

Astoria in D Minor by @The Cheshire Cat. Arc id 60.

The Beating Heart of Astoria: A Play in Five Acts by @The Cheshire Cat. Arc id 61.

Signal:Noise by @The Cheshire Cat. Arc id 63.

Who Dares Wins by @Zaphir. Arc id 239.

The Coldest of Wars by @Zaphir. Arc id 240.

The Astral Prison by @Zaphir. Arc id 241.

The Villain Wrangler by @Rogue Ivy. Arc id 7655.

A Farewell to Knives by @Kalachakra. Arc id 8110.

(We were lucky enough that these writers had their original arcs from pre Sunset stored safely somewhere!)

Great to see this.  I'd love to run these with my husband.
This kind of post is wonderful for people like me who'd enjoy recommendations.

Now, I'm not trying to detract from the winners above, but just for recommendations here's a little rundown of what has gone before:

  5. I just thought I'd stick all these posts into a single place for ease of reference.  I hope it helps others looking for recommendations for AE material to play.

As well as the above Dev Choices there are one-off Dev Competitions for specifically themed AEs.

The Holiday AE 2020 competition is included in the above December 2020 link.

    Cimerora AE Competition.

The Holiday AE 2021 competition is linked below. Enjoy!

  6. As I said I have much more SFMAs to play but I think some of the AEs could be transferred to the actual game easily with regards to the plots and stories.  I do not know how easy it would be to change all the code since I read somewhere on here that the in game missions are quite different in make to the AEs even if they look almost the same. It is just a suggestion to fill in more missions I feel. If these are already there then maybe something other than the Dev Choices, even though I am looking forward to the next ones, or the Hall of Fame although most of those seem to be farm things, could be done.

If I was playing the Skulls in Kings Row and ended up doing a @cranebump set of arcs sideways from that then that would be very cool. Or if I was on the Christine Lansdale mission then ended up doing some @Take Onerelated missions that also would be cool.

(Please excuse phone use earlier. I have fixed my typos).

  7. I have been going through a lot of the mission architect AEs and have obviously played things that go from really bad to really good. There are some that I think would just fit right in to the main game immediately though and some that would with a little bit of fixing.

Have the rest of you a list of games like that?

The dev choices are weird because they contain both arcs that could fit right in like the above mentioned ones and also arcs that are fun but really should be only in the AE because they would not work in the game at all even though they might be a good experience to play.

I have not finished all their stuff but these three writers I would put any of their stuff that I have played so far into the main game. @Darmian and @cranebump and @Take One. I am not excluding others yet but I just have not got to them properly.

Darmian has a whole set of Praetoria work that feels part of the game and their other stuff feels the same. But I have not finished the long story yet so I will finish that.  Cranebump has stuff that is really right for the Kings Row feel and when I am playing it I feel I should be running to Blue Shield to level up when it is done. Take One has stuff that involves West Libertalia and they also have the same exact feel I get from when I play anything with that.

But that is just me and the story AEs that I like playing.
