  1. Time Bomb is indeed worthless, but Trip Mine has dozens of uses. My Archery/Devices blaster is the queen of Halloween, and also very handy on the BAF besides, where Trip Mine is every other attack she plays during the escape sequence. If you have a good idea where the mobs will be coming from or going, Trip Mine is golden.
  2. Pure Prairie League - Amie
  3. Tankers are not difficult to solo on, are the easiest characters to raise difficulty levels on, and require a lot less investment than other ATs, and that includes Brutes. In every game I've tried my first character is always a tanking class of some sort. My first desire is to avoid frustration by prioritizing survival. Tankers do kill stuff a bit slower than scrappers or brutes, but once endurance is a solved problem this becomes less of a factor.
  4. No ranged attack I'm aware of is certain to bring floaties like Rularuu, Seers, or Mu into melee range. If it's possible to break line of sight after attacking them you might manage to make them come closer. But your Nemesis Staff or Blackwand will work just as well for that purpose without burning a power selection on Confront. I can't imagine taking Confront on a scrapper; it's a single target taunt that needs an accuracy/to-hit check. No one is going to expect a scrapper to be taunting anything.
  5. The Heavy Horses - Anyone Can Tell
  6. Handsome Family - Cold Cold Cold
  7. Chopin - Marche Funebre
  8. Squirrel Nut Zippers - Ghost of Stephen Foster
  9. That guide was written at some time after i16 (mentions electric armor) and before i19 (talks about mandatory fitness pool). SR for tankers was i21 IIRC. It also does not mention Apex (for which my advice would simply be 'don't bother') or Tin Mage, nor any incarnates trial.
  10. Mark Bronson and Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk. Clever video collage. Give yourself a point for every face you recognize. Give yourself five if you can name the original films.
  11. Ernestine Anderson - Moanin'
  12. I doubt that the BAF is soloable, if only because it would require you to be in several places at once. And my understanding is that it's the most basic of the series.
  13. A smaller, cropped version of this screenshot, dated Jan. 19, 2005, depicting Heraclea in her original costume, is one I uploaded to Wikipedia to illustrate the gameplay for their article on the game. Here she squares off against the original Dr. Vahzilok in his great old mad science sewer lab.
  14. Grateful Dead - New Speedway Boogie
  15. This old guide is obviously dated in many ways, but it seems relevant to the matter at hand.
  16. Ministry - Every Day is Halloween
  17. My Name is Yon Yonson
  18. Ministry - Effigy
  19. Trader Horne - Morning Way
  20. The build above is not my current build; I am mind/fire. I do get a fair bit of mileage from the Force of Will attacks, including another cone damage dealer and a fairly nice debuff, which I have slotted with another proc whose name I could tell you if I were in game. It's from another lowbie set. My own proposed builds are in this thread: But as I mentioned, accuracy seems to be in a bad place.
  21. Sometimes it helps to go from room to room and look through the inventory on each room to figure out what is in there. You might find your item and from that menu it can be selected and brought to light.
  22. I generally recommend resistance sets with recovery powers for running low level content. Bio and Radiation are good primaries for this; Willpower is also an option if you take Taunt at level 10. Fire is also an option; all the powers that directly help keep you alive are available by level 12, and the self heal gives you stacking Toxic resistance that will help on Positrons. I tend to think that the resistance sets scale down better than defense sets do.
  23. Feed my alts. Only Heraclea has full T4 on all her incarnates. Empyrean merits can apparently be mailed one at a time to any other character on your account, so any she makes get passed forwards to the neediest. This is apparently a dominator who just got to 50 a few days ago. Heraclea is a full game character who is as at home tanking Clamor as she is Reichsman, but when she is exemped she plays only for inf, there being no real urgency for more veteran levels other than bragging rights.
  24. I seem to be on the cusp of getting there. I am there, with the right team buffs, or if the Hasten cycle works out right. A couple more sets of Entropic Chaos ought to get me there easily, or another bunch Basilisk Gaze; this will mean finding some other place to put Ascendancy of the Dominator. I have not looked at getting purple recipes the hard way, but stuff like holds and sleeps may be relatively doable. What is the second job? Accuracy looks bad on paper.
