Every seller needs a buyer. For those paying attention, 5 merits will buy one booster, or 15 converters. I would expect that the trading levels would approximate 15:1, and at 66,666 inf per converter, that's 1mm per booster. That said, I can't recall the last time I paid that much for either one. Sounds to me that there are a lot of people who switched from selling their merits as converters to selling their merits as boosters. Now the question is: what's the ongoing demand for either of these? As a (semi-retired) marketer, I've bought literally millions of converters, and as a person with a bunch of tricked out 50s, I've probably bought between 1,000 and 10,000 boosters.

Ice armor is one of my faves. I’ve made a bunch of scrappers, but some particularly good synergies are battle axe, kinetic melee, psionic melee.
EDIT: Battle axe because it gives you lots of recharge if you slot for it, Axe Cyclone brings them in, and Chilling Embrace keeps them there. Kinetic Melee because you stack -damage. Psionic Melee because you stack -recharge. Chilling Embrace is a wicked good power.

I think that whoever has made this their work is doing a good and generous thing. Listen, I provide plenty of product, but I'm generally going to manage a healthy profit out of it. Whoever has been managing this niche has been providing a really important service pretty much at break-even levels. A hero marketer, who'd have thunk it?

You had EMP Pulse activated, so that was going to give you the -1000% recovery penalty.

I'm not sure if you are referring to something else, but someone has been maintaining a pretty tight market on the proc for years. Bidding in the low 3s and offering at or near 4. It's super useful for all of us who want and need the procs to know there is reasonably priced supply available, and if you make them it's nice to know there is also a good bid out there for your product. It's marginally profitable, but I would guess it requires a lot of daily maintenance.

Invulnerability has much more upside in difficult situations. My “main” and first character on Live and here is BS/INV and although I don’t find a lot of synergy between the sets, he can handle it all.
-
I always go with Cleave. It's got a good proc rate, and if you are fighting three or more enemies it's practically guaranteed. You get enough time for the proc to be active on the next attack, and possibly the next two if you choose wisely.
I also always skip Gash, even when levelling.

Try Mr. G (primal). You get him from Inside Information redside 30+ in Grandville, and Sweeps Week part 2 is your huckleberry.

Why is this in the Scrapper forum?
It probably started in General and so the mods moved it to Archetypes. As they do. 😉

To straight up ask the question - why does everyone steer away from willpower? My main goal is staying alive in TFs and soloing missions (preferable+4x8 if possible). Would willpower do it or does it just completely drop off at 50?
I don't like it for two reasons: 1. it's boring; and 2. I don't find that it holds up well in high end content.

On the offensive side, Ripper is probably the "best" place for the ATO. But I'd consider putting it in DNA siphon for this build.

do you think we'll see other sets get short cones turned to mini aoes? not for a while i guess.
Battle Axe went from zero to hero with the revamp, which seems like the very definition of power creep to me. (I’d have been happier if they just brought it up to its peer, oh why won’t they stop power creep?)I think that they will indeed change more cones to AoEs. The mob has spoken; we’re getting a monorail!

You can make a real monster. I'm not a fan of Shield (I don't really like click mez protection, and I don't really like telenukes) but this is something I may look into:

Did a bit more tinkering and came up with this as my best first pass effort:
Durable Brute - Brute (Dark Melee).mxd 4.99 kB · 28 downloads
Couple of initial thoughts.
You are overslotted for LotG, insofar as you have of the LotG +recharge slotted six times and the game will only give you credit for five of those. I think you are overslotted for defense as well -- I think I see that you are trying to get as much typed defense as possible, but your melee defense (which is going to play the biggest role as a brute) is much higher than I would build for.
You are also overbuilt for endurance recovery -- I don't think you need nearly that much, or even need all those powers.
And there are a lot of things you should be working into the build. Things like Steadfast +def and Glad Armor +def (which give a total of +6 def to all) as well as Shield Wall +res and Steadfast Protection +res.
Let me take a longer look. The problem with Willpower in my opinion (other than it's *yawn* BO-RING) is that you only get one reactive tool in Strength of Will so when things go sideways you don't have a lot of options. "Most survivable" will focus on a layered approach of defense, healing, resistance, and perhaps some other mitigation. From looking at your build, I'll try to keep things to basic set IOs (with a few PvPs thrown in).

You can go to your contacts list and “Find Contact”. At levels 5-9?!? the last selection will be David Wincott and you can teleport to him.
