  2. Welcome Home. Just like 20 years ago, you don't have to play with the same toys that everyone else has. I have resurrected some of my old blaster builds, carefully modified to enjoy some new changes to CoH. I have also started some new builds. Play around and find what fits you. Then you can tweek it with the help and suggestions of others. Or you can start with someone else's build and modify it to suit you. There are many builds in the guides to use as starting points. I like starting with a JJDrakken's Random Build and modifying it for my play style and character's theme. I am currently playing Rad/Atomic/Mace, Elect/Elect/Mace, and Energ/Elect/Elect Blasters.
  3. "SoupAndSalmagundi" sounds like a good name for a concept character. Hmm, what power sets for the toon?
  4. Ok, I've read this thread twice, and thought on it for a day. I am just going to continue to enjoy playing CoH Homecomming, and take each day as it comes. Thank you, my CoH family, you all are the reason I am here. All of you.
  5. WOW! So, now I don't have to close and lock the closet door when playing CoH, assuming that I am not teaming with an erp team of catgirls and catbois from Virtu?
  6. raychay3002, From Homecoming holds a donation window on the last Saturday of each month at around 13:00 Eastern At the beginning of each donation window we post a breakdown of our costs and expenses for the month up in the Finances & Donations forum We only take the exact amount we need to cover our expenses for the next month, plus any incidental costs and any amount required to refill our $1,250 contingency fund Once we’ve raised the necessary amount, the donation window closes, and you’ll need to wait until the next one if you wish to contribute The Finances & Donations FAQ has more information on (you guessed it!) finances and donations
  7. Thank you for answering my "Who Moved My Cheese" question.
  8. I cannot find the forum's link server status. Where did the "Server Status" link go?
  9. Happy New Year! Do you have any New Year Resolutions? I don't. My last resolution was back in the last century. It was to never make another New Year's resolution.
  10. Welcome to Sov SG! Have fun out there! Discord: https://discord.gg/283jYFQ I am not an officer, but you can give me a yell in game @American Decoy, and @Uranium Patriot. In my short time in Sov, I have found them very helpful, active, and on at all hours.
  11. CoH was my only mmo. Worked, played with kids, and grandkids, and lots of single player titles in steam. Love Fallout 1-4, and Total War junk, but CoH was only MMO that could keep my intrest past charactet creation.
  12. You are not alone: (This is an old post of mine from live.) You have Altitis, in the early stages. You can seek treatment or enjoy having two accounts with all the slots full on 3 servers. I always have a mid-level-what-ever-AT you are looking to fill you team. The first step in recovery is admission. Make a choice between fighting to be normal, OR enjoying your alts. Delete all of your toons, OR indulge your wild side to be whoever you feel like at the moment. Roll ONE well thought-out toon, OR roll a new alt to experiment with those new exciting power sets. Invest all of your emotion in that one toon, talk about him until coworkers and family avoid eye contact with you, OR meet new players every day, even old ones will think you are new on your new secret alt. Get in a support group, fun SG, or like-minded friends—PL Farmers are surprisingly supportive if you have transferred all of the influence from your alts before deleting them—OR see how many Super Groups you can be an active officer in at the same time—going on 5. Set daily goals to achieve you end goal of 50, OR be flexible to switch alts to achieve the current team’s objective. Grind away for experience points, OR find out what mission is lined up in that old toon. Grind away some more—TFs, special story arcs, and large SG teams are good—OR dual box your two accounts. Be a leader in Paragon City—run TFs and PuGs—OR be a leader and switch to secret alt when you screw up. DING! Hit 50! OR DING times 50—no not a level 50, but most of your alts have advanced some. Now you have a 50, now what? Seek help from a higher power, OR ROLL AN NEW ALT! Hmm, somehow it always works out to 12 steps, I wonder why?
  13. I just thought that there was a lot of extra cleaning needed.
  14. YAY! I made it to the donation party! (84% of the way there!)
  15. It is actually quicker to delete the common salvage in the AE mission farm to make room for better drops without taking time away from the AE mission. You look at it from the viewpoint of selling common salvage to make a small profit, while the AE farmer is looking to minimize time away from the mission.
  16. I vaguely remember Twixt. There was a Get Twixt theme or call at times. I may have teamed with him and broadcasted his location once or twixt. I did mez him a few times, but never pulled off the tp-drone attack against him. That was on Freedom. I wasn't a big PvP player, but Twixt was fun. Was he also the "old man" character that griefed Hami raids by pulling monsters on Freedom?
  17. Messing up my first costume and having to walk Steel Canyon to Icon as a level 2. I felt like Ripley in "Alien" trying to sing "You Are My Lucky Star" while not looking at the level ten monsters.
  18. Sorry to rez an old post, but I love making worst power combination builds into workable builds. I came here looking for "bad build" ideas and left with fond memories for the old days. JackWolfe: "Plus who can forget the joy of running Steel Canyon @ level 5 to try to get to the costume shop?" WIN! Remidi: "Even worse, the True Healer build - all empathy powers, only the required secondary starter power, the Medicine pool, any pool with team support powers, and never, ever any power that did damage." My first 50 was emp/rad fender with all the healz. And I rp'd it on Freedom. That was when someone kicked me from their team with "Heal and shut up--go to Virtue to RP!" LOL. I branched out to Virtue after that to make an ill/rad troller called Decoy. That said, Nurse Goodbody was always in demand to heal and rez on Freedom Hami runs from 2008 to 2012. Uun: "A month or two ago I was teamed with Pool Boy. He was a defender, but only took the required powers and all his attacks were from the pools. He had it IOed out the wazoo." Back on live, we used to try to build and play the worst builds. I remember teaming with a Pool Boy. My worst power combo was my first toon, a grav/emp troller on Justice in 2007. It was my first go at an MMO. Because I didn't really know how to team, I made no friends. Grav/rad troller wasn't a great choice for this newb. I deleted it and rolled a emp/rad fender, Nurse Goodbody, on Freedom.
