An alternative to the Random Number Generator use in game
American Decoy replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
"These tables have randomly generated values, but each table ensures that no number is repeated, and thus all values can be found on the table. If the system were to use tables instead of RNG, it would get rid of that pesky "I have a 95% chance to hit" but I am missing 20% of the time...." So, if the table system will not allow repeated values. the result for a hit-or-miss check would be "I have a 95% chance to hit" but I am missing 50% of the time." RNGs are not perfectly random, but if they were we would still get repeated numbers. And we would still get 95% chance items that are not 95% results in our limited sampling. -

I remember the Crazy 88s on Virtue. We followed SG rankings until they knocked us down. Some may have viewed the inf burn as a cheap way to victory, but I admired them. They had style.

"Closed Beta used to go by Resurgence or Paragon." Ah! That explains it.

You need some new blood. Get out there and make new contacts.

The very first thing I do is get the Ouro Port: Take the tunnel transport, the portal next to the train in Atlas (ferry in Mercy Island), to night ward. Enter the midnighter mansion. This gets you the midnighter badge. Go back to Atlas (Mercy Island), take the train to Steel Canyon (ferry to Cap au Diable north ferry), enter the midnight club and go to Cimerora. This gets you the Ouroboros portal. After that, pbfff. I just play. Love PuGs--Pug arcs, Pug TFs, Pug Radio missions, etc. If I solo, I take time to read the mission lore. Oh, I follow some market guides to generate enough Inf to but a jet pack, before even thinking of XP boosters. Lately, I've been turning off XP to finish favorite arcs, like all the Hollows' arcs, Tina Macintyre, etc. Back on live, we would rush to KR to get the police radio and do the bank mission for the temp jet pack power. Now, with P2W jet pack and easy Inf, I rarely rush the KR Police Radio Bank mission--keep the insp from the Breakout tutorial, wack a couple Hellion in AP on the way to getting Ouro Portal, put the large Insp in AH to get the Inf to buy the jet pack. To the OP original question "How Do You Like to Level:" At the trainer.

You can set a slash command something like up++ while you follow. One of the results is that you fly up to the max range of the follow command. The other result is that you get dizzy as your screen spins around very rapidly. Oh, make sure you end the up++ command before you break the follow command.

Bindfile loads dumping in Sys window?
American Decoy replied to Shenanigunner's topic in General Discussion
I load bind files, and I never see more than the fact that the text file is called. I don't see the line-by-line text of the file. I even have mine set to say it in local, so I know when I accidently hit a key that loads more bind text files. -
I generally sell rare enhancements. There were two banner days after the announcements when I topped 999,999,999 in profits on each day. It almost seemed like a job. It has slowed down to a more enjoyable 250,000,000-per-day pace that I can minimize the market game and play on teams.
-
I have only been back a short time. I sell about 150 to 300 rare enhancements per day.

Homecoming Wiki: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
American Decoy replied to American Decoy's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Yes, working now, yes, so it must be Monty, not me. 😉 -
Yes, standing in line (or on line for yous guys) sucks, but I am very happy to see more players enjoying CoH.

According to garmmarhow.com, If you speak British English, use “Levelling”. If you speak American English, use “Leveling”.

J-Force STYLE...What does it mean to you?
American Decoy replied to ROGUEdenied's topic in Excelsior
Never was a member of J-Force, but I teamed up with them whenever I could. Generally, it was a race to be the first into the mob. -
It is damn easy. Heck, there are guides to do it. Oh, are they part of a Nemesis plot? I checked my stats. The answer I got was "Who?"

Rad Brute or Rad Blaster/Corruptor? Returning player
American Decoy replied to Cstriker01's topic in Archetypes
I am currently leveling a Rad/Rad brute, after getting my Rad/Rad blaster to tier 3 incarnate. Both are fun. But the blaster is fairly sturdy, as blasters go, and very aoe fun. I'm sure the brute will be as fun when the slotting is complete. Back on live, I'd advise that you roll all three and have fun. Hell, today, I advise that you make them all. -
Binds: what binds do you have in your toolbox?
American Decoy replied to wjrasmussen's topic in General Discussion
Sometime the map is too damn small. map1.txt file has the following: shift+m "window_scale map float$$bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\map2.txt" map2.txt file has the followiing: shift+m "window_scale map 2$$bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\map1.txt" So toggling shift+m changes the map size. I also make several keybind text files with menus to switch between travel powers and Power sets and ATs: NUMPAD0 "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\keybinds0.txt$$e uploading standard keybinds" shift+NUMPAD0 "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\nop.txt$$e uploading Original keybinds" NUMPAD1 "goto_tray 1$$e tray 1" shift+NUMPAD1 "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\PB.txt$$e uploading PB keybinds" NUMPAD2 "goto_tray 3$$e tray 3" shift+NUMPAD2 "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\WS.txt$$e uploading WS keybinds" NUMPAD3 "goto_tray 4$$e tray 4" shift+NUMPAD3 "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\TPILL.txt$$e uploading TP keybinds" NUMPAD4 "BINDLOADFILE C:\GAMES\COHBINDS\SSREG.TXT$$E uploading SS keybinds" NUMPAD5 "BINDLOADFILE C:\GAMES\COHBINDS\SJREG.TXT$$E uploading SJ keybinds" NUMPAD6 "BINDLOADFILE C:\GAMES\COHBINDS\FLY.TXT$$E uploading flyer keybinds" NUMPAD7 "BINDLOADFILE C:\GAMES\COHBINDS\MYSTIC.TXT$$E uploading mystic flight keybinds" numpad9 "e Keybind Menu: 0-Standard, shift+1-PB, shift+2-WS, shift+3-TP, 4-SS, 5-SJ, 6-Fly, 7-Mystic, shift+0-Original NOP" I haven't made a PB or WS since coming to Homecoming. On live I liked playing Tri-form Khelds with keybinds: pb.txt file: shift+lbutton " " shift+rbutton " " esc " " shift+ESC "unselect" control+ESC "unselect" h "em flypose1$$em flypose2$$em flypose3$$em flypose4$$powexectoggleon energy flight$$powexectoggleoff bright nova$$powexectoggleoff white dwarf$$powexectoggleoff sprint$$goto_tray 1" shift+h "powexectoggleon combat flight$$powexectoggleon energy flight$$powexectoggleoff bright nova$$powexectoggleoff white dwarf$$powexectoggleoff sprint$$goto_tray 1" j "powexectoggleon quantum shield$$powexectoggleon thermal shield$$powexectoggleon weave$$powexectoggleon tough$$powexectoggleon maneuvers$$powexectoggleon combat jumping$$powexectoggleon shining shield$$goto_tray 1" NUMPAD1 "powexectoggleoff bright nova$$powexectoggleoff white dwarf$$goto_tray 1" NUMPAD2 "powexec_toggle_on bright nova$$goto_tray 3" NUMPAD3 "powexec_toggle_on white dwarf$$goto_tray 4" ws.txt file: shift+lbutton "powexec_toggle_off black dwarf$$powexec_toggle_off dark nova$$powexectoggleoff sprint$$powexec_name shadow step$$goto_tray 1" shift+rbutton "powexectoggleon dark nova$$goto_tray 3" h "bind_load_file C:\games\cohbinds\tpon.txt $$powexec_toggleon black dwarf$$goto_tray 4" j "powexectoggleoff black dwarf$$powexectoggleoff dark nova$$powexectoggleon twilight shield$$powexectoggleon penumbral shield$$powexectoggleon shadow cloak$$powexectoggleon gravity shield$$goto_tray 1" k "target_enemy_near dead" shift+k "target_enemy_next dead" NUMPAD1 "powexectoggleoff dark nova$$powexectoggleoff black dwarf$$powexectoggleon gravity shield$$goto_tray 1" NUMPAD2 "powexec_toggle_on dark nova$$goto_tray 3" NUMPAD3 "powexec_toggle_on black dwarf$$goto_tray 4" lbutton "nop" So, I have many text files of keybinds. And Macros. And Popmenus. And I am collecting more.
