  1. Yes, of course Sentinels suck at what I was building mine to do but it makes me wonder why you even can take a CC damage set and a support armor set and then the stats just suck. But, if you take Psionic Mastery on a dominator you get three shields, and I think some others like Leviathan Mastery are similar. Like why would I play a Sentinel when I can play a Dominator with three shields, Leadership, more than two melee attacks (and if you look at Sentinel epic pools vs. Dominator assault sets, you probably get literally all the melee attacks a Sentinel would get and then some) and actual CC, debuffs, and at least four buffs? The Sentinel gets Link Minds and two psionic melee attacks, but the Dominator does literally everything they're supposed to do but better: ranged attacks, melee attacks, armor, buffs, and debuffs, plus the CC is actually statted to work and they get more big AoE attacks even if they aren't Blaster nukes. On the other hand it doens't seem like the psi/psi/psi Sentinel works like at all, because the stats for Sentinel to do CC and support are not equivalent to the armor or damage or even support a Dominator gets.
  2. Dominator can use buff/debuff and lots of other ATs can have high endcosts and want Haste. I have a mind/psi/psi dominator with Leadership and it's nice other than the fact I got kind of annoyed at the dominator AT sets being like "would you like some fire and fury to go with that?" instead of playing into what I actually built and the Domination ability not visually matching. The Support/Assault AT sounds like it would just be a better Sentinel tbh, since Sentinel is acting like it wants to be a support with its inherent ability and epic pools but then it's statted where it seems like it just can't use those, and the best Sentinels are like elec/elec and the worst are psi/ninjutsu.
  3. I think Sentinels still just suck because of the stats. Whenever I've made a Brute or Dominator they need their epic pools too but their stats are still better. Probably just adjust Sentinel stats to be closer to Dominator or Brute stats and they'll be fine. As of now, why would I want to use Link Minds on a Sentinel with armor when I can use it on a Dominator with armor, and why would I want to use big ranged AoE attacks on a Sentinel when I can use it on a Brute and also have Taunt, better melee attacks, and better armor? Sentinels don't get buffs to CC either so the CC attacks from Epic pools end up being better on Brutes as well, while the CC on, say, a psionic sentinel just ends up being worse than the actual CC on a Dominator. Maybe sentinels try to be a balanced class but they aren't because CC and support are bad on them and I'm just let down by them because the only sentinels I have ever run are psi/bio, psi/ninjutsu, and psi/psi, and if CC and support are buffed on sentinels they'll work perfectly fine, while say elec/elec that someone else plays and likes is one of the better ones because it doesn't need CC or support to work. Having basically a perfectly balanced class should be fine, but the sentinel class ability should probably be an AoE and stack and the stats should probably be adjusted slightly since it seems mostly like the issue is sentinel pretends to be a perfectly balanced class but it sucks at CC And support and the class abilities for Sentinel are actually support so that stands out a lot.
  4. Nah I think Sentinels suck because the closest AT to Sentinels is Brutes. Once you hit level 35 on a Brute you get better armor than a Sentinel and you get a bunch of ranged attacks, while Sentinels only get two melee attacks and have worse armor. The only thing Sentinels do better than Brutes at all is support, since their innate ability is support and Sentinel epic pools usually get at least one support ability, but no one bills Sentinels as being for support at all. Trying to build Sentinels for support usually ends up making them worse Dominators since Dominators get better support abilities despite not being Controllers, they get armor, they get more melee attacks, and they get more ranged attacks. So yeah I think Sentinels are mostly just kind of doomed. The closest AT is always going to be Brutes IMO but their stats seem totally nerfed all-around compared to Brutes and even then people complain about Brutes a lot too.
  5. Praetoria is actually kind of obviously copied from some other stuff after I played it, and that other stuff was influencing me, then after I played it there was just too much of a wolf tone effect for me. This also still doesn't address that the Lost was cancelled too. Like every time we almost have a wasteland or a dystopia or both it just gets cancelled so there's repeatedly the awkward effect of "I could make my character from here but then I can't" on all of them. Like I guess if your character is a green-skinned methane-breathing alien with tentacles from a spaceship on a post-apocalyptic world there's nothing similar but if they're a person from anything vaguely like Earth you're stuck in an awkward area where there are actually a few different things lorewise that already exist they could be from but all of those are either underdeveloped or the only thing you're actually kind of lore-locked out of so it's awkward.
  6. I think people just make builds that require the least possible amount of clicking things and that's basically it. I also think brutes are underpowered. Brutes are starting to feel basically interchangeable with sentinels to be honest. On my latest brute I designed I ended up wanting to take barely any attacks from the primary set and just keep taking ranged attacks from the epic pool instead. Brutes and Sentinels would probably both work fine if the cap on the number of targets you can attack were lifted. I don't think Tankers have any caps at all and I'm not under the impression Controllers or VEATs do either. Probably just remove the target caps from all classes and they will probably all be fine, even if Brutes and Sentinels still feel too close they'll probably also both stop underperforming and that'll be fine. My disclaimer is I'm not trying to make a bunch of ultra meta builds, but the idea of people not trying to make things super optimized is already part of the discussion which is nice. But yeah Brutes basically just feel like Sentinels but better to me at this point, because you can have multiple melee attacks instead of just one and then the actual ranged attacks you can pick seem way better since you can pick from blaster sets and controller sets, rather than just getting the crappy controls from the blast sets. So on Brutes you're getting armor, melee attacks, blaster attacks, and controller controls, on Sentinel you're getting armor, blaster attacks, one melee attack, and maybe one support ability depending on which set you pick. The problems with Brutes and Sentinels seem basically the same to me at this point though, and like they could probably both be fixed by removing the limits on targets since they're supposed to be damage classes and that's already somewhat nerfed by the armor.
  7. ...People have already done plant/savage to death, I don't see how that's stealing, other than maybe the idea that it should be a plant werewolf. Plant werewolf is kind of a cool idea, but I don't see how I would claim to own an idea like plant werewolf at all even if I made it up there. It is kind of a cool idea even if it doesn't make up for the fact Savage Assault seems like an overly specific set that can really only be used for vampires, werewolves, or maybe demon or witch creatures connected with nature, since it just connects too many things that can go together but don't have to. You certainly can't use it to make a bird character like I was mentioning because it just has a ton of stuff in it that has nothing to do with birds even if there are two bird powers.
  8. I think that's exactly why it's rare. The biting and scratching thing doesn't go super well with the pets in most themes. Almost all savage assault masterminds are Dark/Savage and basically just people RPing Dracula, and the few that aren't seem to be Plant/Savage and are people trying to RP Tarzan but with just vines instead of monkeys. I don't think it works super well conceptually. Whenever I want the pets I don't usually want the biting and scratching attacks, I just want like a telepathy attack so I can summon the pets telepathically or something. I can think of a lot of other ways people might want to summon the pets: electric devices, sonic devices, pheromones... none of which go super well with the biting and scratching theme. Only a couple of character concepts want the biting and scratching theme and the pets. Then the pets themselves are already two birds and one bugs, which isn't necessarily something people would want. Lots of people, myself included, would like to be able to just pick one type of creatures, such as just birds, or just bugs, or something that isn't an option like fish, dinosaurs, or rodents and shoot that at people. I don't think that would be super hard to design personally but it would still have to be designed and the game seems understaffed so more people go apply! I'll go apply! But that's why I think savage assault is underused, because thematically people don't necessarily want the pet attacks with the biting and scratching attacks, or some of the pet attacks with some of the other pet attacks, or even the biting attacks with the scratching attacks. It's definitely a coherent theme, but a much more specific one that's harder to use in different concepts than just fire or darkness or psionics.
  9. ...That's literally just what Savage Assault is. That's what I was saying I don't want when I want more animal attack options. There's already a Beast Mastery and Aquatic Affinity and some specific power sets that are very different. There's just not a bird mastermind or bird blast or fish mastermind or fish blast which I find mildly annoying. Savage Assault is not a replacement. Savage Assault is a powerset where you scrape things with your claws or bite them with your fangs and it just happens to have one bird attack power in it (no fish or any other animals besides flies.) Beast Mastery Mastermind has two bird attacks which is actually better but I still can't just make a mastermind who is obsessed with birds and only has birds, maybe due to being an ornithologist or having a bird-based mutation or being related to the bird god or the like.
  10. No, my one Praetorian character still has all the badges after going blue. Why do those characters have to be thrown into the new world of Praetoria? Why can't my post-apocalyptic characters I made within a couple of weeks of joining the game just be Praetorians? "When Bloodsifter was a child, he was selected by Emperor Cole to be a loyal servant..." "When Loosecannon was a teenager, her house got hit by a nuclear attack, but due to her precognitive ability, she avoided the blast underground and now scavenges in the wastes..." I'm just locked out of actually using the in-universe postapocalyptic setting because I didn't use it when I was making some postapocalyptic characters when I first played the game? Basically nothing else is story-locked. People are constantly saying that their Peacebringer and Warshade characters actually aren't a nictus, and just making Brutes who they say are a nictus, but if I made some apocalyptic character when I first joined the game and didn't even really know how to play, they have to be from some totally made up ghetto apocalyptic universe that isn't Praetoria and also isn't Primal Earth. That seems kind of pointless.
  11. Yes, because what everyone wants with an animal mastermind or blaster that has more options like birds or fish is a werewolf who fights with claws and fangs and howls at the moon after savagely assaulting their enemies with their bestial rage.
  12. I'm going to make my version of Atlantis canon where they are actually not fish people, they just live in a dome underwater, shoot nukes at people starting with the time they shot nukes at Athens 9000 years ago after they got nuked and forced to go underwater, build pyramids with the remnants of technology they don't understand, and get attacked by Cthulhu and the Deep Ones who actually are fish people but don't run around attacking surface people with nukes. You can't stop me. (Jk, probably everyone will stop me, my "Atlantis is a dystopia of people living in various underwater domes" is not going to jive with all the DC and Marvel depictions people probably want, even if I write my own stories about mine.)
  13. Yes but you can't get Praetorian badges at all. Not just the starting one, you can't get any of them. Plus, I think this is worse than the hero/villain thing, because the game specifically tells you not to start as a Praetorian, so if I made some post-apocalyptic characters right when I first joined the game, then I want an RP faction for them, and I think the best fit is Praetorian, am I just totally locked out of that? I can have literally any other faction, just no Praetorian for a character I specifically envisioned as being part of a wild experiment serving some kind of God-Emperor or another character who is scrounging the wastes after an apocalypse? I don't want to make characters just look like the Lost, I just want the costume pieces so I can do things with them. We can literally wear Arachnos helmets and the Arachnos spider logos, but no TV helmet or stop sign armor plate, even though I wouldn't associate that as much with any specific faction? I also really want to use the Lost costume pieces on some AE missions that I want to give a nuclear wasteland theme to, so the NPCs can look like they were scavenging their armor and weapons.
  14. Yes. This is also why it's hard to find people to do the Zombie Apocalypse event with, because you can't just leech on it, even though I want as many zombie apocalypse badges as I can get since they would be nice on many of my characters.
  15. Yeah at this point I don't know why anyone would prefer dominator either and I play mind control and end up slotting for recharge anyway. I miss not getting to have Link Minds like Dominators get on controllers but it's not worth it for the secondary power pools on Dominators not seeming very good. I've heard people joked Dominators were primary/primary but in my experience that's basically the opposite of true. For example Defenders have the support set as their primary so when I make a Controller I often don't want many or any Epic/Patron Pool powers because I just want almost everything from the Primary and Secondary Power Pools, but if I'm doing something like radiation emission that doesn't come with defensive powers I'll probably try to pick something with two defensive powers like Psionic Mastery and take them both. On the other hand on Dominators I'm basically taking all five of the Epic/Patron Pool powers all the time because the Dominator secondaries are just not very good. Dominators are kind of ironically the only class that isn't primary/primary in my opinion, because the support sets, blast sets, armor sets, etc. are all primaries for one or another class, it's just the Dominators' secondary powers that don't seem very good to me. The one positive thing I can say about Dominators though is that if you want a melee support class Dominators are probably the best option, since their secondary sets usually have lots of melee powers and then you can pick Epic/Patron Pool powers as well as Incarnates, prestige powers, etc. to all be support-oriented. Playing them as a hybrid of controlling and blasting like it's intended doesn't seem to work super well though, and there's also another thread in Suggestions where it was mostly suggested that the Dominate power probably needs to be customizable to use the same effects as teleportation powers.
  16. I still see all of your plants in the top one. You're not dead with no plants out. I do think the idea of making Seeds of Confusion have a Taunt and Confuse shouldn't be done so it can just be used as a Confuse since that sounds silly, but most of this thread sounds like people just complaining that an OP set is being nerfed, not that you're actually losing your plants. While I also don't want damage on all the control sets totally nerfed into the ground, I don't want them to just be changed into damage sets either. If you just want damage and plants, like, ask for a Plant Blast set that we were discussing in the Suggestions forum. Plant Blast plus plant pets sounds perfectly fun but not what a Plant Control set is for.
  17. Basically this. Also a Rescue, Heist, or Escape wouldn't necessarily be Street Level because you could save the leader of an important organization or something, but those are still good keywords. Maybe Street Level could be a keyword too since it's a popular idea and then we could differentiate Save Grandma Jones from Save the Leader of UN, but I would love other keywords than Save the World or Rule the World myself. Other things I would like: - Let us use Base Builder maps/custom maps - I still want the Lost's costume pieces even though I also put that in the costume piece thread. I largely want the Lost's costume pieces for AE missions. Just more NPC costume pieces in general for AE missions would be nice.
  18. We probably just need to offer to work for the game more to be honest. I remember talking about PVP in the in-game chat and I offered to help work on that. Now to go find where the application center is again...
  19. Yes, please don't nerf my homeboy Alex Humboldt the mutant botanist before he even gets to 50. That said I'm fine with the idea of Confusion and Taunt in the same powerset, we've already had that forever in some power sets like Illusion Control, just not literally on the exact same power. I am also a huge fan of procs and often partially design builds around what procs I can use so please don't take those out.
  20. The title was kind of thrown together, that's not what I mean. I mean when I was a newbie I kept making a bunch of dystopian and post-apocalyptic characters who weren't in Praetoria because it said that's not for new players, and I think it would be nice to possibly be able to send them back there, as well as keep the Praetorian alignment on the one I finished that left Praetoria instead of being forced to just do Paragon/Rogue Isles/what have you content, even though everyone can go back to Praetoria anyway, more like because everyone can go back to Praetoria anyway. And I would also like more of the Lost stuff developed, like Lost costume pieces I can use on some characters and on AE NPCs, because the one post-apocalyptic character I made who I might not want to make Praetorian maybe should be someone who is a former Lost member who got set free but kept the mind powers and the connection to the hivemind or something. But as of now, I am annoyed with how Praetoria seems to be the only thing in the entire game that's story-locked at all, where your character can either be Praetorian or not Praetorian and then once they finish Praetoria you can't really go back even if you want, and the Lost is not developed at all, since I love apocalyptic stuff a lot and made a lot of my character when I fist started the game apocalyptic characters, but there's basically nothing in-game that they can align with because of those two facts.
  21. By auras you mean Empathy only has bright ones? I think Pain Domination also only has dark ones. Some of the armors like Bio Armor are also dark-only. So I think I agree with you, most of these should probably have more bright and dark versions.
  22. Then can the telepathy sets make enemies run into walls so they don't turn into telekinesis sets, which I don't personally find as conceptually interesting and which are mostly already separate anyway? "Stop hitting yourself... by ramming yourself into a wall!" Honestly, I kind of wish that were what Telekinesis on Mind Control already did. They should probably just replace that one, specific power with something that lets you click to make enemies run around kind of like how you can move them around with some of the Teleport Ancillary Pool powers but like, not by teleporting them. But now also if you ram them into walls they take damage. People who like telekinesis more than telepathy already take Gravity Control instead of Mind Control anyway, and I would be all for that one being about throwing people as hard as possible to do damage to them as well. I actually love the idea of moving enemies around more. Even like telepathy, fireworks, symphony control, darkness, plants, and other stuff that isn't about throwing people with brute force people should make them run around more in my opinion, I am actually totally on board with that.
  23. Bird Blast I still want an option for Beast Mastery MMs to be able to choose just one kind of animal, including ones you can't choose at all right now like dinosaurs, but having a Bird Blast would make me happy. But even though I wrote Bird Blast, it should probably just be Beast Blast, and there should probably at least be Bird Blast and Fish Blast options. But I don't think the mechanics would be different at all, it should probably just be exact like how the dark sets usually have the Dark Miasma/Affinity looking one and the Soul Noir one and you can pick. But the two first options should be Bird Blast and Fish Blast. The please give us other reskinned options for Beast Mastery MM instead of it being mostly wolves for everyone and a couple of bird options, because all birds, all dogs, all cats, all dinosaurs, and all aquatic animals are things we definitely need and I think it could be reskinned.
  24. Yes please let us customize it. Just adding a bright or dark theme would be useful enough I think. Maybe just add options similar to the teleport ones, especially since someone mentioned Translocation, since I've had a good time making the teleports match literally any kind of concept I could ever want. Maybe just literally use all the teleport and translocation themes for it and it'll be good. I would be happy with just the bright or dark themes or Rikti theme for my mutant dominators but maybe let's add the translocation theme while we're at it for a spellcaster dominator since those are common too and the teleport themes I think already have options like souls and bats and what have you for vampires which are magic but probably really don't want the cast-a-spell theme. So just use teleport options is my vote, since those are already broad enough for magic, biological freaks, cyber-freaks, elemental powers, living shadows, no effects because you're Natural origin and you just make people run over tripwires and shoot at them with guns as your Dominator powers, basically anything you could want.
