It's cool, OP is just sussing out game-life. I dig it. I fall in between reality and roleplay. I don't have a particularly vivid imagination but I wholly appreciate those that do. However, when I'm in-game and I see that boss baddie tugging on that nice lady's purse, I just have to help. I can get immersed in the game while realizing it's not me, almost I think, like a writer might do as they tap out a novel, but I do sometimes think as I think the hero would and do the thing I think he would do and not the thing I might have actually done as myself... Like I said somewhere between. Also....how confusing is that?! So I can't do roleplay. I just don't see it and like I said I just don't have the mental mechanics for it, but I enjoy observing it and would never intentionally mess it up for someone else. Having said all that.... RPers, don't be so strict about it with those of us who don't get that deep. I chose Everlasting randomly and it turned out to be the RP shard and I didn't realize this until I'd made it my home, so too late now. People have, with me at times, assumed I was an RPer but then eventually they'll discover I'm not and even though we might've had a good time hanging out running and gunning I'll get ghosted from then on. So now I look at the bio or the RP tags above the heads and I'll try not to bug them, but then to my mind it's wasteful to be so narrow-minded that you can't have a good time unless you are 100% immersed at all times. Think of me just as a dude playing another dude pretending to be another dude. I mean if you are an RPer just pretend I'm from an alternate universe or something....make it work you've got the skills for crying out loud. And I'm always me rather I'm Vinny, EB, Mike, Tre, Wu or any one of my many toons of which I answer to all...just helpful little ole me. Sorry if that read like a rant promise it wasn't 😁 nothing but love for yuns. P.S. When an RPer writes in ( ) what does that mean? Is that the toon or the puppet master?

Ok... Finally about to get a 50 under my belt, my Ele/Ele Scrapper and I have a couple questions about things I see people posting that I don't understand yet. After 50 is there another pool of powers that open up beyond the one that opens in the 30s (or is it 40s)? Cause I see people posting: MA/SR/Mu or Ele/EA/Ele stuff like that. And I've not seen Mu or Electric or many others people put in the third category. I actually wanted Electric on this Scrapper for the 3rd but it didn't exist for me. I've got pretty much all attuned enhancements, am I ripping them out and putting level 50 stuff in? And does that mean after 50 pretty much every AT is running the same enhancements, cause that's not the impression I've gotten. And Incarnates.... Where does that journey begin and as a completely fresh 50 do I look for groups or is it a solo thing? Thanks in advance! ....seriously just 2 bars! But I ran out of play time last night....soon as I get home though it's on.

Ok. All I've heard is "perma Hasten ASAP." And I will say that when it's on, oh man is it fun. Yes I popped a full set of attuned Preventive Med in the heal. That's great advice that I'll be putting to use on all my other toons. I should hit 50 this evening, my first one! I've only got like 130ish merits. What should be my first move? Any post 50 guides or guidance?

@Yomo Kimyata I took your advice on the enhancements. Since this was a fresh toon it felt easier than starting over with my other Scapper. Focused on resists first melee second and used attuned stuff. Life was made so much the easier for it. So thank you very much for the heads up. I tried picking IOs that plugged holes but I'm not very good at frankenslotting, yet. You definitely pointed me in the right direction. I've now put in as many bids as my Inf allows and will be respecing as soon as the enhancements roll in. Quick question about Hasten (for anyone), I've got my recharge up to 58% and I've plopped 2 50lvl recharge in Hasten but it's still not good for perma. Where do I need to be to make that happen? Still about 30 seconds off. With Hasten my recharge is 128%.

Yeah I'm trying to get them up. Got Psi at 75% and Energy as well, got Lethal and Smashing in the mid 60s, Cold and Fire are low 50s, Toxic is only 11%. When you say "max" do you mean 75% or whatever the soft cap is?

So without Rad armor Electic shines? I can make 2nd best work :) Besides, I have a Rad armor Brute and those effects are cool but Electric is better. Just so long as when I get to 50 I don't find myself stuck with nothing to do....

I never see anyone saying that Electric Armor is this or that. I hit 46 last night on an Ele/Ele Scrapper and it's been a joy to level. It has alot of tricks and decent (to me) resists especially to Energy. But I got to wondering if, after 50, it falls flat, cause I never see it recommended anywhere. This started out as a Black Lightning theme hero but once I got into him more I started realizing it might be the best combo (Ele/Ele) that I've ran. 20% boost to recharge, an AOE aura toggle, a strong End drain/transfer, a decent heal with a blue bar boost, decent resists, and it's so endurance friendly that I can pretty much go ham on every pull. It's one drawback maybe that there is no AOE taunt, but I don't mind sometimes when a bad guy or 3 peels of and stops pounding on me for a few, they eventually find their way back to be "arrested." Thoughts or tips?

I have both Bio and WP on Brutes and Bio is my favorite between the two, but Bio hero-wise will on work on some for me and that leaves WP if that's how I'm planning to roll the toon. I've got Regen on a Claws Scrapper and only recently figured out what all I was doing wrong. I want it to work so bad on him haha.

I did that very thing and with Dark Melee as the OP wants to do. Made him Hulk sized for fun. WP is really good.

So I pugged in a 50 PI radio session yesterday. At first I didn't like how the lead was micromanaging the group, most of what she was saying seemed like common sense, and someone telling me what I already know bugs me. But then I remembered this thread and it dawned on me that it's likely she's had issues in the past...after that I just went with it. But because of her it was smooth and organized. Also, haha I pulled some stupid newb stuff and no one complained...too much. Like in a sewer mission, run through the tight door, y'all know the ones, and bam like 30 baddies just on the other side. I swear I backtracked so fast that they shouldn't have seen me...but nope here they came. I also fell off some stairs into a pile of baddies...I swear somebody had some buff that made us move faster. I'm usually not that clumsy. All good fun though. But how this reflects back to the OP.... The lead clearly stated on a couple missions not to pull more than one group at a time cause that's all she could handle. On others though it was a bit faster. She'd clearly done her research and knew her capabilities. Much how the OP here is doing.

Mildy agree, but I definitely see your point. That is why my PUG expectations are pretty low and that's also why I have no prob bouncing if it's no fun. Can you get kicked from a group in CoH? If I were to lead one and I notice someone doing things that caused wipeS, then that might be a consideration I mull over. But yeah, you've got to see things from other's perspective. What makes something fun for one might not be fun for someone else. Like in WoW, I could spot people who were in a group just to be lead on the DPS meter, show their prowess and display their tiny little epeen. I'm there for fun, experience, money, loot, maybe meet a decent rando, or any number of reasons. But I always try to be tolerant of how others are so long as it's not douchebaggery.

I'm new and pugging is all I do if I group. I don't know mechanics and I don't know runs, but as I am new sticking with the group is my only real goal. I found myself and a few others were working a boss that just would not go down. I also noticed my End was not replenishing like it was and that's when I realized that as soon as that boss gets unbound from whatever was holding him we were toast...I bounced and got back in range of the group as fast as lighting. As far as bad pugs...I can only go with my experiences from other MMOs, it's almost always a bored vet or worse a bored malicious vet. If I find that we are dying more than I like then I politely bounce, mostly because it could be my deficiencies causing the wipes and I don't want to ruin it for others. But if I were to find it to be because of a douche in the group...then I would bounce and make sure to note their handle. Having said all that, I have yet to experience a bad pug in CoH. Even General chat is low on trolls compared to other MMOs. Most everyone I've ran across have been very helpful, prob one of the best MMO communities around.

I just built an Ele/Ele Scrapper and am now realizing how nice it is having good slow resist. I'll definitely take that advice! Also Ele/Ele has really good built in recharge, another thing I thought was good but is actually a pretty big deal. But then I wouldn't have thought to stack it for Claws/Regen cause claws is so fast already. Thank you

Yes I'm understanding this now. Also I was making the mistake of choosing sets that only had regen or prioritizing regen, cause you know....regen, BUT... What I've come to realize is if I resist more damage I'll have less to regen. I was also trying to stack the Power Transfer: Self Heal in several places. Now in Regeneration resist and def are limited but as you said the melee IOs have resists as well.

To a Freakshow: Rez and run? That all you got?

I can't think of the abilities name but I was wondering with only a 50 degree radian, is it worth taking? That would mean only baddies lined up right in front of me would get hit. Thanks!

It's a good power. Depending on your build the endurance cost may be a bit high during fights but you can toggle it off. You can boost your sprint and take Combat Jump out of the Leaping power pool then customize your move stance to Ninja and have the best of all worlds.

I did the same before I realized... Enhancements that drop off the baddies are just for selling to the vendor. Do not buy them at all, wasting your inf. You can use one that drops to plug a hole until you can craft a better one, that's fine, but don't buy them. The crafted ones do not diminish as you level so their potency remains, now their relevance may wane, but as some here have undoubtedly mentioned, crafted level 25s can last you til 50.

It takes a PvP enhancement to covert to a PvP one though, right?

I quietly made about 80 mil yesterday in about 30ish minutes. My best day but the AH was hot for some reason. Also got real lucky with converter roulette. I've literally just figured out the Ah and converters so that may not be good for an old pro. Though, on converter roulette, I've learned not to laser focus on just one exact enhancement...good way to blow a mil in converters.

I have a Stalker with /Regen and have Integration 6-slotted with just generic Heals and he can tackle a mob of 6 or more and he'll regen through it, and that's at roughly your level. So I think it's worth it. WP has a similar Recovery mechanic as Regen and I 6-Slot it as well for spamming.

Piggybacking this thread as I too have a /Regen Scrapper at roughly the same level. What about the Resist in Regen. What's best in that since it's just a +resist to all? Franken-slot it to boost just resists? Or is there a set worth using? Not high-jacking just a complementary inquiry.
