Mystic Flight is arguably the best travel power but that's the only power in that pool worth taking, IMO. Then though, thematically, Mystic Flight can have issues, since you can't stop the Translocation animation from looking like spell casting. Not gonna disagree with you, except to say RoP can be replaced with an orange insp (where a melee toon is concerned) and that feels like too little to have to go so deep.
  2. @Spaghetti Betty I absolutely appreciate how you build offensively! HAHA always learning stuff from you, I'm about to mesh your Stone Melee slotting with the Bio slotting you helped me with some time back. BTW I'm watching these vids when I get home today.

I can see it being useful, but also agree with you. I don't like taking it at all. The power tax is too high for a power like that. Also the whole RoP/Melee Core doesn't exactly line up. There will be 60 seconds where both will be on CD. I ran a 54 ITF last night and did well, but the aggro was being split with a Brute who is a friend, an excellent player, and our playstyles mesh very well. Oh and there was a Kin and a Shields for support LMAO...so there is no wonder why I did so well. I'm gonna get my Hybrid unlocked and finish out the incarnates and roll solo to see what I can do without.

Yeah I get this totally, but that begs the question, why worry about RoP and Melee Core cycling if you aren't even keeping your resists up to those levels now and are doing fine? RoP can be replaced with a large insp, this also means ya gotta have a large insp (which is the downside). This is exactly what I do with my Brute. It just sort of falls apart in an ITF. Regen is the only Brute I have where in an ITF I really don't seem to be able to run off on my own. But I only had Barrier and MoG, I just recently crafted Melee Core. I prefer Assault, cause MOAR damage.
  5. I single slot it with a cheapy end/recharge/slow

Nah there's more than one way to skin a cat. And if this is the way, it kind of means that Regen isn't good at all as it must rely on 2 specific powers, outside of the set, as a crutch. My guess is, you pop oranges like a fiend, as you won't have Melee Core at 47 and RoP is off for 120 seconds. I have a Brute that is SS/Regen, this one also uses a mod version of Betty's Brute build. I didn't power level that one, puts out insane numbers, but I use Hand Clap in conjunction with Foot Stomp so nothing in melee is ever standing. I didn't take RoP with my Brute and on a team he's stout, but rolling solo he's popping oranges if the baddies have KD protection...stupid Romans.

I just got my Regen/SS tank to 50 and only have T2 Alpha thus far. Can't tell you about the ride cause I power leveled him, but at 50, and solo, it feels a lil squishy. Regen is NOT a set-it-and-forget-it set. But I like it that way. I have so many that I never actually have to manage anything, and while that feeling is great, it can get a bit boring. Regen feels like a quick car with manual tranny...it needs your input to work. You are an integral part of your survival. I have some other clicky sets but Regen (so far) requires the most attention. I'm rolling with Void's version of Betty's build. I looked like a "tankier" build and I didn't have to think about how to build one. But ultimately what I want to do is figure out if I can drop the sorcery pool and still remain as tanky. RoP, while stout, is not my cup of tea, and to get it there is, IMO, too high of a power tax for a 3 min recharge power. @JasperStonehow goes the build? I'm very interested in knowing how you finished it out.
  8. @Diantaneis like a community gatherer! Look at how he brought us all together to.....you know what.... Oh @Diantane IS 100% trolling. I took @Diantane serious once, never again. He is a master at trolls. He peppers in enough factually plausible info to get people (that don't know) to think about what he's saying, but also he manages to get people that do know to reply with what is obvious to anyone that's played COH for 6 months or longer. I won't address the troll's troll other than to say, for anyone that's new and might be reading this thread, @Diantane is always wrong, do not listen to nor take in a word they typed. I will, however, say this, ALSO, I read all of @Diantane's threads. Why? Because they are always a bad take and generally the responses are gold.
  9. Ok potential obvious answer BUT... So, really recipe drops are where the inf boost is really coming from?
  10. Ok so I've built the page 6 Spines/Fire Brute that @America's Angel posted. I'm only at T3 on everything but Ageless (T4). So it's not full out yet. I can clear a tunnel map in 11 min. But I tend to pull 4 groups then hold too long in that spot. I'm gonna pay closer attention then scoot to the next pull when I'm down to about 10. I've been worried that they'd reset, but maybe they won't? On the tunnel map at +4 I'm averaging 80/hr. I thought about going to a large carnie map like the one my S/L farmer uses but thought that the more condensed the baddies are the better, less run'n, MOAR kill'n! For me it's a challenge and I like to figure out how to make things more efficient and also to make tons of inf. Farming only gets boring after a while. Oh the map I've been using has EBs, should I stay at bosses and below? I thought EBs would increase inf and xp... Thanks again!
  11. Was running +3 because I hadn't finished out incarnates, nor do I have the accolades yet so was noticing a decent dip. I've adjusted my playstyle and now run at +4. Also just found the base buffs...so running with those two now. We do only need the recharge and recovery ones, right? Man.... I'm nowhere close to 160. You getting that from multi-boxing? I'm rolling solo ATM, but can get a support or another hitter going, especially if that's the secret ingredient. I like the active meteor maps, but can't take it just yet. Less moving and higher concentration of targets is better for time but I'm not there yet. I can run the tunnel maps and pull 4 groups at +4 using LOS to pull mobs in close. Think I'm going to run some Heather Townshed repeats to speed up incarnates. Grinding for incarnate MATs is taking too long. Also, is there a way to turn off common salvage drops? Thanks for the advice! Same lol I have an alt problem too...hence the need for money.
  12. Quick update: Got the build loaded out and T4 Ageless, T3 Musculature, T3 Degenerative, and T3 Assault Currently running at +3 Is there a breakdown or comparison of ROI between the different difficulty settings? Also, if anyone has a tip on a good active FF map on Everlasting, would be great! Someone suggested a meteor map but the mobs debuffed defense so quickly that it was a useless map for me.
  13. OK so dipping my toe into the fire farming pool. Picked up the Page 6 active farming Spines/FA Brute build...just because. The reason I'm doing this is because my regular S/L farm toon actually uses a hybrid build because I wanted it to be useful in normal play as well. This I think hurt my DPS output which lowers my clear times which lowers my inf/hr. I haven't gotten anywhere near the ballpark of 100mil/hr active farming. Also, the "100/hr" is that everything from an hour's worth of farming, drops and all? If so wouldn't that fluctuate based on purple or PvP recipe drops? Is that an average estimate, so in some cases it's much greater than 100/hr? So with all this XP being generously given to us (THANKS DEVS!) I started a second account and farmed me up a 50 fire farmer. See if I can improve my harvest....
  14. I have Fold Space on 1 toon and it's a waste for me. BUT, I roll with a guy who basically has it on all his Tankers and he uses it to great effect. If used properly and when it works properly, it's really good for positioning the mob. Best in TFs, me thinks. And really it being behind Teleport and Combat TP, isn't a bad thing, I really like both of those and Fold Space is a 2 slotter, so it's not a huge sink for slots. But I never take it lol...
  15. Thanks Yomo! Ok, so quick update,.. I built both Scrapper and Brute, and probably gonna build out a Tanker too. I like TW. Scrapper: lvl 50 TW/EA/EM (right now) Brute: lvl 41 TW/EleA (no epic) The Scrapper was much easier to level. Energy Aura is such a cake walk. The Brute has been a slog... Electric Armor, maybe I haven't slotted right so far but he is not durable at all. I've gone all in on resists and regen, but he just can't stand a full out assault from a decent sized mob at this point. I'll finish him out though, the build will be right once fully geared.
  16. My favorite Tanker is Rad/MA/Soul very very sturdy. He gets a decent bump to defense through Storm Kick.
  17. Maybe I'm getting something confused. In game Support Core shows me receiving a 12% damage bonus. Nope never mind it is 6%...
  18. I've never actually thought of it that way! It makes total sense though.
  19. Speaking of "leeching," doesn't this also affect the team's XP accumulation? If one team has a bunch of do-nothings, don't they get less XP overall? This I think has been my experience, in an MSR as well. If other teams on the league are doing more damage they are getting more of the XP. If this is the case I can see AFKers being a problem. I know a couple of friends who jumped in a ToT league together, both the same level going in, but coming out one had 2 levels up on the other. Also, just don't have auto-accept teleport on (or whatever it's called). I pretty much never have it on unless I'm on a team with friends. This also stumps the whole teleport the AFKer somewhere else tactic, if the AFKer is wise enough to make sure it's off.
  20. Yeah...I did try to send you a DM but it said you were not excepting them.
  21. @tidge HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been calling you Sovera hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha OMG that's so funny! I'm gonna edit those out but OMG hahahahahaha Sorry! I guess all cats look the same to me?!
  22. This I think comes from @dukedukesconfusion. He somehow spun something I said to mean that -res was....."not worth taking." I think his passion got the better of his comprehension. And before he chimes in to use my blaster story as his "proof," that was just pointing out that minions and lieutenants all dropped to one strike from one person, and all that was left were the hard targets. This without any resist debuffing. Taking down hard targets is where -res shines. Nowhere did I even imply that -resistance was a waste of time. I myself slot -res procs just about everywhere I can. Yah know the -20% ones, that are just 5% less than what VG supplies, but I digress... I feel very much the same as @tidge. And like I said in harder modes like star, VG has value. Or.... I suppose by some very improbable chance your Poison is the only thing on the whole team with debuffs in reg content. I've done a couple runs like @tidge where I toggle off VG and haven't noticed a difference. Now with all the variable stack ups these "results" could've been because others on the team were also hitting things with -res or damage was being buffed or....any one of a thousand things. We all play how we want. Everyone of us are good players, we just play differently. This is one of the things that makes this game awesome. There are so many ways to make it happen. I mean I know people who cringe at the thought of running a +4 ITF with no Tank or Brute, but I know it works and works well Rom can be a pain but he still goes down. Any team makeup works in this game, it's beautiful! I seem to be able to make Poison work for me with or without VG. I don't know, maybe it's just been my dumb luck, maybe I've stumbled on to something?? In the end it doesn't matter because the TF will be completed, we'll all have fun, and we'll all get the spoils.
  23. But you are complete wrong. I'm not sure how, in your mind, you started reading things that were not true, be here you are, The cards are on the table, sure, just not sure what game you are playing. Peace out...
  24. Bub, you seem to be taking this personal. How 'bout we tap out for a bit...well, I will, do what you want.
  25. And in an uncoordinated PUG, how many stay behind killing that single boss? LOL My experience has been 2 or 3 most of the time and at least 1 every time. It's sort of like how in an ITF, on that first pull where most of the time there are two groups, one static, the other patrolling, and more than half the team pour it on, blowing their Judgement and maybe their T9 nuke as well, then have nothing for the huge pull in the first big room. All of these variables... Playstyles account for so much of the inefficiency.
