This is a fascinating bit of detective work. The RP part of my mind immediately leapt to imagining Kheldians gratuitously zapping nearby bugs and whatever before form shifting, many of them having no idea why and just doing it out of superstition, following conventional wisdom, and such.

Just to bring some closure, I am very happy at being able to routinely do a lot of stuff at +4/x8 with @Warlawk's bots/time build from his grand collection of /time builds. I've still got some hurdles to cross, but then I also still have some T4s to secure, so that's fine. (In my case, incarnate powers very much help cushion the deficiencies of the player.) Sure, it's not as fast as some other archetypes and power combos we could name, but it works at a pace that suits me and makes me glad. Thanks, @Warlawk. 🙂

This is an export of Oldskool's build in the post above, since I was interested in poking at it. (OK, technically it's not. I swapped the positioning of Fly and Boxing; since I usually do DFBs, I like having Flight early.) Next Iteration of my Nature Experiments. Demons/Nature
ParaBruce replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Mastermind
Oh neat! Going to be following this with great curiosity. -
[v2.0] Gravity/Time ... Propelling the Future, NOWâ„¢
ParaBruce replied to Redlynne's topic in Controller
I'm wondering about usage - the stock advice on Dimension Shift, I know, is basically "don't do that", in groups. Would you throw caution to the windows and dump baddies in it anyway, in this context, or what? 🙂 -
This has got to be a very extreme outlier at best. I literally never, ever see it, as opposed to people who put damage at a lower priority than defense and all.

Macros/binding for crab soldier pets
ParaBruce replied to ParaBruce's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
Thanks, that's handy info. -
This is my first time getting a crab soldier up to the point of having pets. Just spiderlings so far, but the others will come. And I realized that I don't know something important about using them well. So: If I'm making a powexec_location macro or binding, since I hate manually targeting a summoning, do I want them appearing on me or on a target?
-
It's interesting to see the kinds of realization one gets only or primarily from play. For me, it's "I get bored with so few attacks" -> "I would be happier with a primary that had maybe 4-5 attacks as part of a rotation" -> "likely I should look at secondaries other than Bio". 🙂
-
Thanks again. 🙂
-
Huh. As a fellow range-lover, I find this interesting. Do you think it would work okay as a farmer, when not doing other stuff? Also, there are some oddities in the build as posted. I had to reorder Fly, Hover, and Afterburner, and then swap Afterburner's place with Radioactive Smash because of minimum level requirements. And I don't know where to stick something to make it possible to take Tough and Weave.

Very much in favor.

It must be said that the background sounds made me keep waiting for this to kick in. 🙂 -

Watching the evolution of your build is downright fascinating. Dad was a NASA engineer and I grew up fascinated by the process of making...just about anything, really, even the making of stuff where I had no particular interest in the end result. When I do have that interest, it's even better to see the iterating. Each game of chess means there's one less Variation left to be played Each day got through means one or two Less mistakes remain to be made -

Oh, cool, thank you for the answers! *exit, fiddling with Hero Designer* -

Out of curiosity, with examplaring in mind, @Redlynne, do you have any general-purpose suggestions for alternatives to the Hami-Os? I exemplar a lot and was giving them the side-eye while admiring the rest of @SmalltalkJava's work a lot. Also, @SmalltalkJava, thanks for the videos! I really like that kind of thing - it helps me get a much better sense of what a bunch of numerical data means in play. I used to be great at that sort of translation, but autoimmune problems have taken their toll on parts of my brain along with parts of the rest of me. So, very much obliged. -
Yeah, the T3 makes a big difference. And thanks for the comment about /Nature, which I haven't done a lot with yet despite liking what I did.
-
And there was the answer for me in the thread about Crysis' bots/time build. 🙂
-
I'm feeling the urge to do some boundary pushing. Can masterminds get up to that maximal mission stomping? (I'm not interested in AE farming.) If so, what combos are most likely to get there? If bots/time is an answer, then I'll have questions about build tuning. 🙂 If not, then I'll welcome builds and build suggestions for better combos.
-
@TheOtherTed, you are my hero of the day.
-
I need a picture of Peter Weller as Buckaroo Banzai pointing and shouting, "Evil! Evil, pure and simple, from the eighth dimension!"
-
This looks like a lot of fun. 🙂 When I've got my bots/time character kitted out some more, I may need to give something like this a try.

Problem with Sept 10 patch borderless full-screen option on Mac
ParaBruce replied to ParaBruce's topic in Help & Support
Er, you may be thinking of something else, but this is in the patch notes for the 10th of this month: "Added the ability to select Borderless Fullscreen mode in any monitor connected to the system." Which sounds new to me.
