The Officially Unofficial Weekly Challenge #4: Start a team
NotsoevilDM replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Need to do a couple of TFs for the Task Force Commander badge on my main, so may just start a team for these rather than waiting for someone else to do it. -
Or have just come back!

Is it worth it to run this Difficulty Setting?
NotsoevilDM replied to DMBLaan99's topic in General Discussion
To misquote @Snarky: When I want to fast level I join TFs. Don't have to be in my level range. Doesn't matter if I already have the badge on that toon. Just some mindless mayhem and a ton of xp and inf. -
Flitz, my MA/SR scrapper was my original toon on live and is my first back to 50 on HC. Definitely my signature toon. For the other archetypes, Lead Hose (AR/Dev) is my primary blaster and another recreation of a live toon, as is Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) on redside. I don't have a signature toon for any of the other archetypes, at least not yet! But given my altitis and the fast pace of levelling on HC, I am sure they will arrive one day.

I will typically only respec at 50 to rebuild a toon to a Mid's build. Only other time I would respec is if I screwed up the build by picking a power that doesnt really work with the concept (or a power that doesnt get used / work like I thought it would). Or, to change slotting (as I recently did with my Ice/Mace tank when I reaslised I only needed one slot in Wet Ice). If there were significant changes to a powerset for an existing toon, I would probably respec if it was one I played regularly.

I grind like a bitch, and I still can't keep my holes filled

My 2 inf as a lazy old-timer who is just getting back into the game. My basic approach is just to slot whatever comes along, sell off the stuff I cant slot for whatever DO/SOs I can afford up to level 22. Then start slotting level 25 IOs as I can afford them. Ideally that should keep me going to 50 but I tend to upgrade the IOs as I go (very cost inefficient). At 50, respec to Mids build (if I have made one) and start replacing IOs with sets (again I will start slotting sets before this but it is not cost effective). Finally, whatever approch you decide on, as long as you are having fun then it is the right one for you! -
I run default and even then tend out outlevel arcs incredibly quickly. I also prefer to finish missions quickly, rather than slog through them. I could probably up difficulties in later levels once the toon is SO/IOed up a bit. Maybe once I get bored of low level content on my xth alt.

That's pretty much me. Played a lot back in the day, but only recently got back into the game. Basically having to learn everything again. Loving it, but does mean I am a bit all over the place when teaming - anywhere from solid DPS to where's that TF?, oops didn't mean to aggro that mob, got lost on the way / in the map, etc. etc.

Brief descriptions for a few of my characters (should really get around to adding them in-game): Flitz (MA/SR Scrapper) Robert Fitzpatrick was part of a team developing a shield against alien attacks when an explosion caused by a Rikti bomb threw him into a null-time field. Stuck for what seemed like an eternity but was in reality only a fraction of a second, he 'eventually' managed to gain some measure of control over the null-time field. Now he can pop between real-time and null-time allowing him to easily avoid attacks, move instantly between locations and fight crime as the superhero Flitz. Lead Hose (AR/Dev Blaster) What happens to all those alien weapons and weird tech captured from super villians? Paragon Police Department has a special division dedicated to making those devices safe. But when some trolls broke into one of their facilities, [Lead Hose] grabbed whatever she could including a strange alien gun that she can summon from a pocket dimension at a thought. Capable of reconfiguring itself to fire a range of munitions, she uses it to make the streets safe for ordinary citizens. Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) Born with horns and hooved feet, [Red Rag] was abandoned by his parents who thought he was a demon. Brought up in an orphanage for mutant kids, he fell in with the wrong crowd and his short temper which triggers his flaming aura got him into regular trouble with the law. He ended up in and out of the Zig and now wreaks havoc as the Supervillianous Red Rag.

My default activity is soloing whatever arcs come my way (I don't worry about outlevelling contacts but will usually pick contacts that feel right for each toon). I tend to avoid hunt missions in favour of instanced ones. I'll team up with SG members if they are on and will join TFs when I can with the aim of completing all of them on each toon (eventually). As a committed altaholic, I tend to switch between toons which helps to keep the content fresh. If I'm getting bored of Atlas Park and blue-side content, then I'll do some red-side or Praetoria missions on another toon.

How confident are you that your build is properly slotted?
NotsoevilDM replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
For me, properly slotted is based on my MIds final build for that toon. So at the moment, none of my builds are 'properly slotted'. Mostly because I only recently started playing again on Homecoming so I don;t have any level 50 toons yet. Below level 50, I tend to slot towards that final build, but will also put slots where I think I need them as I go. Running out of end - more endreds, missing a lot - add some accuracy, etc.. From lvl 22 onwards, I start slotting IOs instead of SOs or DOs, focusing on the powers that I feel need them. I used to leave enhancement sets until 50, but if I understand correctly it is now possible to upgrade slotted enhancements so might have to rethink that.
