Start in Praetoria at +4/+8 (or whatever that max setup is).
Look, I'm all for playing the game the way it was meant to be played, maybe even more than most, but let's not go crazy here!
Meanwhile, every Posi 1 I play on works like that...

The way I play a Dom is really dependent on the circumstances of the team and who we're facing. I see them as a Swiss army knife of a an AT.
- Squishier ones or low level ones tend to stand in back and mez everyone repeatedly to help keep the damage dealers safe; toss in a ranged attack or two.
- More protected ones and higher level ones (as that's usually the same thing) tend to open with a crowd-wide mez and then rush into melee, esp. if they have any PBAoE like Atom Smasher.
And then, while in melee, what else needs tending to?: more mezzing, another melee blow, or a ranged attack for that runner? Melee toons just hit, maybe pop a heal or something, then hit again. I think I abandon melee toons before 50 due to disinterest the most, unless I've given them a bit of extra via power pools or whatever.

Seconded. Just the last couple of days I've gotten trapped behind a Dark Servant and something else (can't recall what, a Dark Pup maybe?), and thought about that QoL change for MM pets...

-- Know who you're making your enemy group for, and test them accordingly. Personally, I think that it's fine to go a bit heavy on buffs/debuffs if you're making enemies for the 40-50/incarnate crowd. I'd argue that having a few standout enemies designed to give players trouble in specialized ways (ie debuffs, self-rez, control) as long as you have them appear in relatively small numbers is a good move, priority targets make an enemy group interesting and memorable and discourage pure facerolling.
I like pretty much everything here, but also note that I usually tend to aim for easy-as-possible designs. I want everything to go smoothly as can be and not chase anyone out of the story, which is my main focus. I'm told I've failed that before though ha ha (see mission currently in sig).

I recall advice form Live (I think?) to be careful with armors as they can become beasts way too easily, something like that. The advice was to basically not give them hardly any, which is what I usually go for. I found this useful: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Mission_Architect_Custom_Units

What tech guide, where tech guide??? 😃

I came from... a much different place before I played the game, so the first time I heard about a twinked-out build I was rather uh confused yes. I wouldn't say it's a slur or anything though, in that other context, not that I've ever heard of.
Now, let me rant about gamers' profound misuse of the word "meta"...

You're hired! I expect these scripts on my desk Monday morning.

This game is already easy enough, this would just encourage more AFK farming.

Stalkers, because it's also so much fun to walk around and just look at stuff without worrying about being seen (most of the time, there's a very few that do see thru their stealth).
Tanks are just indestructible very easily.
Sentinels are also solid, my one that I've made (so far?) was practically a tank himself. Just be sure to dress your new toon like Ned Flanders...

Some kind of slow and self-important "prestige" costume drama, a terrible rom-com... yeah, those would be fun roles for heroes to take! 😃

Surprisingly well, but like most SF/TFs these days….just a bit odd. [snip]
Sounds like it was just as well I wasn't available. I've only done that maybe five times so I'd have been just as unfocused (I have no idea what "staying at the door" is about for example).

Speaking of, Snarky, I saw you recruiting for a tree spec earlier just as I had to log off, how'd that go?

Sounds like fun, and a good mix for Admiral Sutter. The three Controllers and Dominators can lock down Primal Duray so he doesn't teleport all over the map.
Yeah, my run thru of that with my Dom, I think there were two of us? and all the tough guys just stood there as we wailed on em, all the way through.

I only use this window rarely, and this tab even less, so this problem may be a known thing, but I find I can't scroll down to read that last entry there. I tried expanding the window, making it longer, and had it as long as my screen is tall and couldn't expand it enough to make the entire thing show... so I still couldn't read that last entry.

Maybe you should prioritize blue/red on different characters? I'd also volunteer you for Wiki duty to clean up those problems - who else would know better than someone doing everything? - but I've encountered things like that as well, and am I working on the Wiki? Noooo...
Bit jealous of the character really taking off like that; my latest, a Dom, as usual only seemed to bloom in the upper 30s once slotting fell into place, but as that was a bespoke build, that might just be my fault.

If I see something like that, I generally try and help them out with something passive like a heal or maybe an armor. Even if they hate Ice, it goes away quickly enough.

Mate, I know what I am asking for is a long shot. These 'team only' powersets are a relic from a game that no longer exists. Of course the nostalgia fanboys are not going to like me targeting one of the few sacred cows left.
But I still think its bad design and will call it as such. So far no one has shown me how having team only powersets is good for the game because deep down they know that it isn't.
"But he gets results you stupid chief!"
But to repeat: team-only powers because this was and very much still is a game for teaming. Just because you don't want to team doesn't make that untrue, and we certainly don't agree with you deep down or otherwise.

Nine times out of ten I have some current guy I'm leveling that I can't wait to get back to, to see how they blossom. For example, my current is a Dom, who was beautiful to see bloom; then I took the (for me) unprecedented step of actually slotting a few purples in because her theme just called out for it, so now I'm running about with her just to see her do her thing so well. But, once 50, my eyes do start wandering. Currently trying to work up a build for a blaster but it's not come together yet.
I have some that get dropped at 50 and hardly ever touched again because by then I realized that they just weren't all that fun to play (both Kins and Illusion are sets I find too hands off, for example).

The only one that comes to mind is that Morality Mission, which I think is a redside or Vig maybe where you keep meeting yourself further and further in the future, the final version of you being from like ten thousand years ahead when you have godly powers and your future you cautions you something like <I>this immortality isn't everything you might hope it is, please reconsider this!</I> I appreciated it if for no other reason that it was clear that they'd really made an effort to hire some better writing right about that time and and that it was paying off.

I'd not even noticed that before, that's a good point. Add more, then add more again!

I think Dr. Doom is more of a Dominator with more pets than he should have.
The Joker I think is a good MM example too, yeah.
Allow more than one power to be on auto activate at a time.

Again, isn't this game easy enough already? We can all, easily, quickly rig the game in our favor and sleepwalk our way to vast amounts of in-game wealth as it is. Just make a choice and don't click that one thing or another this very second.
