  1. Over in this thread, someone is listing the new unlocked badge; and people in Everlasting Help were saying the invasions were around this morning which is what I presume it's from...?
  2. I don't believe the invasion that gives the "Nemesis Plot" badge has existed before yesterday/today? There was a wave of invasions earlier, idling in game now in hopes of cowtching it again...
  3. Ok, I was fortunately able to be told there was April 1st cowntent, and log in in time to get the April Fools badge... but does anyone know how long the Nemesis Plot is running? Please tell me there's time to cowtch that one too!
  4. As someone who has worked in the industry (I was staff on Ultima Online for a while), it's never a good idea to try and claim the process is all, because software developers are often terrible at human resources skills, and if you don't know how to handle people then no matter how good your code is, you'll be unable to solve the problem because you don't know how to handle the interface between it and the real world applications of that code. I know you mean well, but the perfect example of where it can go wrong is I'd personally love to help, but the process described to me to help back on page 1 causes worse crashes and I'm still waiting on an explanation of how to avoid the patcher over-writing the changes. It's a bit insulting then to read your comments about how we the user somehow need to be more positive in helping. So, the reason why you never blame the customer is not because they're perfect, or you have to be a slave to them, but rather that you can't drive away someone who has already decided to dislike you, but you can upset someone who was favourable towards you by a poor choice of words. And whilst it's possible I have an edge case "on my device", but with PCs being entirely modular these days, writing code for multiple devices is to be expected, it's not a "generous" thing. That also misunderstands the way consumer reporting works; you'll never hear about most people's problems because most just don't bother chasing them. CoH's install base is also relatively small on top of that. But the issue can still be serious even if the pure data seems to be small; think of Bethesda declaring that the ability to steal someone's entire inventory, including real money purchased items, was only a limited bug that affected only a tiny majority of players. An absolutely catastrophic mis-representing of the actual severity of what the real issue was. So... by all means encourage people to help more. But the answer to something going wrong is never to point the finger at the person suffering it.
  5. Happy to test this; I've tried running both "Homecoming.exe", "Homecoming_Beta.exe" and "Score.ex" and all crash after the CoH title splash screen (where it would open the Log In details). How would you recommend setting up a short cut that by-passes the Launcher then please?
  6. As per this post of mine, both 32 and 64 bit clients crash after an hour or so of play. This was not the case until recently, and only Safe Mode remains able to stay cownected for any length of time. I've added a crash report from just now of it doing so, and my entire folder of prior reports further up. I've done a full RAM test and nothing appeared.
  7. Nope, still crashing in the current clients... See attached crash report. cityofheroes-7z05qq43fd7cz2m9y9nzz22pnp.report
  8. Ram test completed; No errors found. I'd have been amazed if it found any to be honest, as it's new as of November. The Windows 10 version only tests the system, not GPU ram and that's been in for a few years, but I don't see any issues with any other game, nor did I see it with CoH until recently.... They've pulled Safe Mode now alas, so testing again tonight with the 64 bit client.
  9. Just an update on this; I've been idling in Safe Mode for a few hours last night and tonight, and it doesn't seem to be crashing in that, so it seems the issue is only the 32 and 64 bit versions. I'll edit this just in case it's merely a cowincidence so far though!
  10. Some thoughts upon installing; I did have to do a full client shut down and restart for it to see my account active in game. The UI is a little confusing for those who haven't tried recording badges before. I know what set titles is needed for, and how to get them working, but others may not and the UI doesn't explain well. Consider changing it so walks the user through setting them up, something like after the "Enable Chat Logging" "2.) "Install the macros to pull the titles from chat. Select a simple folder for them to go into." Then offer the gump as you do. 3.) Once that's done, explain; "You then need to go in game, and type /bind_Load_file ":\INSTALL\bind0.txt" Again, I know what the command is, but others will not 4.) Now explain what "CTRL-M" means; use it in game load the macros and then to pull the titles. Issues with your bind load files: Currently they don't seem to cycle through the rest of them, getting stuck on the group that ends with "Unbreakable". I believe this is the first batch? Issues with badge detection: I'll have another go at this when you fix your macros (don't want to use something outside your design to cownfuse things), but it did pick up the first batch of 10. Issues with badge results: Right now, the results aren't clear; although they appear at the top, you have "Badges Earned Badges" in the same font as everything else as the only real indicator that's one detected. Either consider displaying the found badges in a different colour, or mark them in some way to indicate they're found (or remove them from the list showing only unfound like Kitsune's did)
  11. Taken me a while to get back to badging I'm afraid; some feedback on this new version. It generates the following errors; ERROR: Badge Founders' Invader is not in database ERROR: Badge Hell Bane is not in database ERROR: Badge Hero Corps Reject is not in database ERROR: Badge Liberator is not in database ERROR: Badge Man's Best Friend is not in database ERROR: Badge Master of the Airwaves is not in database ERROR: Badge Saboteur is not in database ERROR: Badge Task Force Abandoner is not in database ERROR: Badge Weak Point is not in database ERROR Man's Best Friend badge not found. Loaded 1504 badges for Bovine Avenger I actually have 1506 badges. Two that are missing I can recognise; You've had "HellBane" not "Hell Bane" for the badge for a few versions. Also "Germinator Terminator" isn't being picked up; the error generated is "Germinator Terminator has been selected as new title. is not in database" I'm also still unsure of the actual total of achievable badges is. I've heard, but not had confirmed that the maximum now is 1530? My report has 24 listed to still get, which would take me to 1330. Can you confirm on the following though? Arriviste is now a seperate badge (which I thought I'd done, but will have missed until next year now, sigh). If Arriviste is a genuine badge, the total achievable is actually 1331? Flames of Prometheus dissappears and doesn't get counted in the final total in game? Bug Hunter isn't awarded in Homecoming, but is still in the code. Valid but not achievable? The event behind A Nemesis Plot has never happened for Everlasting yet, also valid but not achievable? Think that's about it for feedback!
  12. Just recently, City of Heroes has been constantly crashing with PhysX errors for me; admittedly I've been playing abnormally, simply AFKing to take damage for the associated badges, but I've tried it in both alt tabbed mode and leaving it with the game as the active window whilst away from home, with chat logging on/off, in both clients, and many other ways besides.... yet it still seems to crash every hour or so whilst taking damage. The very latest, literally a minute or so ago, generated this error; The relative address changes every time it crashes, but the PhysXCore error is always there. I can provide system stats etc if required. Meanwhile, here's my entire Crash folder with many, many examples of it failing... Please feel free to ask if you need more information. Crash.zip
  13. Ahah, I did notice that one, but I didn't think of cheesing it! I'll give it a go with one of my milky rain powers, thank moo... right now I'm still stood kneeling in front of mobs, just starting the penultimate Damage Taken badge; sooooo moo'ch AFKIng!
  14. So let's see, with 5 Valentine badges you cown't get right now, is the total of available badges ... *tap tap tap* ... 1530? I'm trying to work out which ones I'm still short, it's not easy trying to manually sync them all up. I'm at 1505 cowrently, and know I don't have Master of ITF (maybe tonight!) the 5 Valentines, and 14 Anniversary badges; the deal 100m and take 25m, 50, and 100m damage (soooo much AFk resting to get those, sigh) which then takes me to 1529. I thought I'd done, but don't seem to have Arriviste (which is now a separate badge to Trusted? I've missed that until next Halloween if so, boo) I also don't have "A Nemesis Plot", but I'm not aware of the event ever having happened? So is this cownted? Any of you cowmpletionists care to share some tips as to the total and where to milk the last drops of badging until the anniversaries? Thank moo!
  15. Someone in Help Chat was asking today how to set up a group of objects that were identical, but had differing text on interacting with each one; back on Live I'd gotten close, but decided to have another look at my ancient arc ("Apocalypse Cow") to see if I could improve it. And I've found a work around that does exactly that! Step 1.) Add as many mission options as you want objects in the set; in this case note we have 10 "Bookcase". We want to do this because as far as I know, there's no way in the editor to have a single set with 10 random outcomes. So instead we're going to have 10 unique items, with unique text, and have the random placement shuffle them for us instead, Step 2.) But if we name all 10 "Bookcase", we'll get error messages as they can't have identical names. The name is what appears in the target window, and has no other interactivity as such, so this is the best place to fudge it; Add an extra empty space to each name. So the first is indeed "Bookcase", but the last in that list is really "Bookcase_________" You can just keep pressing space until the orange Error message top right disappears, no need to be too formal with counting them! HOWEVER: It doesn't handle said spaces very well, each time you close and re-open the gump, it resets to "Bookcase_" and then generates an error when you try to run it, as other items are also likely to be "Bookcase_" To prevent that, you have to do the renaming in a single run and then save. If you come back again, you'll need to reset every item you open the options for. Step 3.) Choose the objects you want to be the Essential to complete the mission, and select them as such under Settings. Now the "Navigation Text" is what you displayed on the in game mission compass; however as each object is unique, having information in the (Plural) line won't work. Fortunately however if the text lines in (Singular) are identical, it'l show just X of one target. In this case, we would see a mission for "X of Copy of Genetic Data". Ideally then we want to write them all as a plural, but in the singular line. It should be "Copies of Genetic Data" in all of them. Or what ever you want it to be! (If you have just one target out of 10 to complete it, like my original version did, that line should indeed just be "Copy of Genetic Data") Step 4.) Save the Arc and attempt to test it. If it pops up with a Detail error, one or more of the Collection Names has reset the number of spaces after it, and you'll need to pop back, add them again and immediately save once more. When the arc launches without error, you should be safe to Publish it. For those wanting to see how it works in practice, Mission 3 in my arc of "Apocalypse Cow" is the one with randomised bookcases as shown above. Each one has a unique, and terrible cow pun... gotta cowlect them all!
  16. Add me now to the 1500+ club! I'm almost out of ones I can realistically get now; a few days AFK milking damage taken might be possible, but actually squeezing damage done from my udders is seeming to take forever! I've got Faathim I haven't stampeded through yet, weirdly the Cowvern of Transcendence I have cowmpleted but the badge doesn't seem to be on Bov, and there's 2 more for Weekly Strike targets I need to get which will be a slow, repetitive grind. After that, it's going through the online Moogle Docs list of all badges seeing if any obscure ones have been missed. I think it's mostly the rest of the Valentines outside of deliveries and the purchasable historical ones when we get back around to the launch anniversary...
  17. I'll give the newspapers a go later (waiting 7 days on a Hero for now), but when I look in the Cowntacts list, he's got a green full bar, so either I've done the missions in passing, or something else has lead to me being unable to get to them... hence wondering if it could be added to Ourobovos. Help chat indicated it was missable...
  18. I have badges. Many badges. But not ALL THE BADGES. This is becowse apparently you cown miss Efficiency Expert by doing it through Ourobovos first and thus cowmpleting the cowntent. Please cownsider adding it to Pither's arc when repeated via said timey-wimey stuff. Thank moo.
  19. I was thinking more of using "Badge Extractor" to generate a list, and then import to your online document; you control both output and input, and are generating the identity for Extractor from recognising the text string in game. So you could for example set "Nature Lover" to a value of "xxx" say, then import "xxx" to the webpage to auto mark you have it? I ask because when you have as many as myself, it's an enormous amount of work to add them to your webpage manually still, and integrating it from something which checks in game allows you to start recreating Badge-Hunter.com et all...
  20. Ok, let's see; Magma bosses worked, but you have to be very quick to get them as there's a 2 minute timer once they spawn, and if you're squishy it's too easy to get overwhelmed by the mobs around the leader with all their knockdown; stock up on defensive inspirations etc. Leap past all The Lost to the quest NPC, click quickly through, head back and snipe all the leaders and run, there's just enough time to get them this way. There should be 4 Lords per 2 minute run back... One badge down! Rularuu Overseers; Apparently I'd forgotten the unmarked door leads to the low level Fire Zone, and was searching the rest of the Shadow Shard (Chantry etc) trying to find them, where they're very very rare. Running through the first 3 islands, where the spawn is entirely Rularuu got it within 10 mintues. Two badges down! Incarnate Thorns: It seems all the wikis etc are listing the mob locations for the older Dark Astoria, which is now the Echo instead. They're not actually in Moth Cemetery and Romero Heights, except very very occasionally as a spawn amongst others. They're in the city instead, I had the most luck around Toffet Terrace and Raimi Arcade instead. And with that, 3 badges down! Moo hoo!
  21. About to start farming tonight, so I've not tried the other tips yet, but in general there's a few Lords visible when first zoning in, you can see them glowing from far away and target macros pick them up. But I've tried popping the smoke at L50 in the past, and it doesn't really seem to generate any; and killing the normal mobs to force respawns doesn't seem to give any more Lords. So off to try the mission trick mentioned!
  22. That's 100 Magma Lords, 100 Rularuu Overseers and 100 Incownate Thorns... especially that last one! They're rather hard to find in the world map, does anyone know Ourobovos missions with these in reasonable amounts? For the lords, there's one at the end of the first part of Who Will Die, so I may just run that over and over (like I did the Zeus Titans) but is there a better one does anyone know? And where exactly are those damnable Incownate Thorns hiding in Dark Astoria?! Thank moo in advance for any help!
  23. Personal milestone here; Thanks to Veracow and his nightly runs, I have just passed my total of 1344 on Live; This is of course thanks to all the new badges on Everlasting, and the lowered requirements of some as well as the far more active cowmunity (I never had all the healing badges on Live, but Rikti Moo'thership Raids and Rebirth Cow Ephiphany has got it now!) ... but it feels good all the same! Now to push onwards and catch up with some of you 1500+ burgers!
  24. Edit: Ok, I got conwfused and thought this was integrated into your prior Badge-Tracker tool. Is there cowrently no way to use that to make a list of what you have, and then import it into the database? Because I don't fancy cross-checking 1350+ badges, he he. Wonderful work all the same!
  25. Only if every time it's used you get a photograph of a log, or something that looks supiciously like a toy boat with a plastic dinosaur glued too it... We don't need some mysteries solved!
