  2. I'd also speed up the cast time of mesmerize and levitate in Mind Control. Make them pseudo-dps for dominators!
  3. I like fast casting snappy mez's. Anything with a 2+ second cast time just kills me. Especially late game when mobs are mostly dead before you can blink. I want to love electric control. So much. I love dominators though, and the set is a bit of sleeper on Doms (pun intended). Nothing benefits from domination apart from the holds. It's even less than illusion! If I were to change that set I'd make the sleep patch dominate, the chain confuse dominate and make jolting chain a 1 second cast. I also want to love mind control. I really do. But once you have tasted the forbidden fruit that is plant control... Also fire control. I'd speed up the cast time of bonfire. Or illusion control's spooky. It's like 3.5 seconds to cast, and I kinda wanna just get the mez out of the way so I can punch something. And gravity. Of all the sets that needs a fast casting single target hold, this is it. Lift, propel and then a 2 second cast time hold. Ugh. Actually I'd probably normalize all the single target holds to 1.32 second Arcanatime. Why do holds take 2+ seconds? We've got enemies to smash!!!
  4. Necro thread, but wind control would be amazing. I'd absolutely love it if they implemented it.
  5. Savage is fun, quirky and a little weird. It has lots of AoE, and that AoE is readily available. The combo system is a little janky, but usable. ST dmg is pretty good for a dom. Most powers are good. The heal has a long cool down but doms don't get much healing options so it's something. Lethal, so can be heavily resisted. A lot of the damage is dots, so it doesn't feel punchy. Do you like lots of little numbers or a few big numbers? Do you like birds? Usable? Yes. Fun? Yes. Optimal? Maybe not. Depends on your goals. That said, I haven't gotten one past 30. Altitis strikes me regularly.
  6. I agree. Perhaps I should have said that fire control "was balanced" around hot feet. Also, I don't think the OG devs predicted how effective the OF KB to KD IO in bonfire would be. They really had to nerf it; some of the original videos are hilarious. That said, a lot has changed. Plant control, illusion control. Not the same meta anymore.
  7. Fire control is balanced around hot feet. You are trading control for the best damage aura in the game. Arguably fire control is currently broken because you can put a KB2KD enhancement in bonfire. This puts the power on par with earthquake and ice slick. In combination with the fact that most immobs do not provent KD anymore, fire control actually has a lot more control than it did in the early days of COH
  8. @serxiom I said it was harder, not impossible. Very content dependent as well. Sometimes I take pets. Sometimes not. No one size fits all.

  10. There is another solution. Teaming with a support character capable of addressing your concern. Will the change you proposed make your character more powerful? If yes, then it is powercreep. Maybe minor... but that's the "creep" part.
  11. .... Honestly, it's just not a good idea. Constant powercreep. Let SD have a hole. Let those support classes that can buff recovery and end drain resistance have a role. Not every hero need to be a god.

  13. I mostly play dominators, and often pets are skipped because they die so easily. On a /Dark troller, how do the fire imps hold up in level 50 +3/+4 content? What about hard mode Aeon or ITF? Better off going illusion for hard content, at least from pet perspective?
  14. Again requesting combustion cast time reduction for dominators. I can't think of a good reason why blasters should get it, but not dominators.

  16. Anyone know what the minmax function does? City of Data frequently references it, but the damned thing takes 3 arguments. See for example Feral Charge from Dominator Savage Assault. Can anyone help me parse this? (minmax(distance - 25, 0, 40) / 40 + 1)
  17. Yes. Illusion is a good set. However, you seem to have forgotten about Darkness control. It can also perma confuse AVs from a distance, has a 40 second recharge fear (Cone not pseudopet), has a 90 second recharge stun (PBAoE not ranged), a 4 minute recharge hold (that is actually useful) and bonus pets on a 60 second timer.
  18. Brief test drive last night. Power set feels fantastic. Will be my new main. Thank you. Brief thoughts: - would be nice if Spooky dominated, at least on first placement (similar to darkness control AoE hold). If that's not possible, I think keeping the controller level -tohit is a fair tradeoff. - Love the Spectral Wall animation. Fits perfectly with Spooky. - would not change Superior Invisibility at all. Keeping in the primary is unique among dominators and very helpful for theme (in my case) and hitting defense soft caps (as is always difficult on dominators) - Gleam is great. A nice tradeoff for PA not taunting - Please do not change the name of PA More detailed thoughts on Spectal Wall: this power is not going to see much use. It is now competing against the T1 and T2 of both the primary and the secondary (at least during character creation). That said, the problem isn't unique to Spectral Wall, but rather to all dominator T1 immobilizes. Basically: they aren't competitive with other options. My solution would be to make Spectral Wall (and other Dom and troller T1 immobs) very fast casting, but generally do their damage as a DoT. I would aim for DPA on par with T1 attacks from the secondary. The tradeoff for the player then becomes T1 primary vs T1 secondary (immob with DoT vs instant damage). Which is an interesting choice. Of course, many builds will probably skip both T1 in primary and secondary henceforth. Because dpa rules all. Another option might be to make T1 primary immobs interact with domination (shave a second off the recharge time? Build the bar faster?). But that's a much more extensive change and I'm much less certain about it.

  20. Yeah I think I screwed up when interpreting CPH's comment. I agree that 135 degrees on a control cone is huge. 30 feet is limited, but a couple of range enhancements do go a long way. I'll make it work whichever way it goes.
  21. I think a developer just trolled me. The distinction I was trying to make AoE radius extending from target (TAoE). Rather than radius extending from caster (Cones). I thought this clear. Apparently not.
