  1. My solution: only 1 proc per power.
  2. My opinion: no. I am but one voice though. I don't envy our current development team. They are basically in the position of screwing over thousands of character builds, or saying "fuck it, let's just accept a totally unbalanced game and make the best of it." While the latter option may seem appealing, the possibility of adding meaningful new content (ie something to challenge incarnates), is likely very difficult without a solid base. By analogy: how high do you think you can build the leaning tower of Pisa before it topples? Better to fix the foundation now, imo. But it depends on their ambitions. And resources (the most important resource being: DEVELOPER TIME). Given the pandemic, the Talks/NDA (with associated recruitment limitations), I suspect we are slipping into "fuck it" territory. But they have surprised me before!
  3. The balance you seek does not exist. In a sense, this game has too many ATs. Corruptors are still relevant. Even if only thematically. Procs are the problem. Nerf procs.
  4. I feel like you should have access to a reasonably slotted basic single target attack chain in a 3 forms. Standard 3 power t1-t2-t3 sort of deal. As is, right now, you can kind of do this with 7 powers (the human T1 carries over to dwarf, and the human T2 carries over nova). But thats a lot of slots. Like a lot. Maybe there's a way to have to slot a T1 attack only once? And a T2 only once? And a T3 (or second T1 for dwarf / second T2 for nova) only once? Only 1 power needs slots, and the rest inherit their enhancement values from the power that's slotted? I dunno. Details need to be worked out. I've not thought of an elegant solution, hence why I haven't made a thread about it.
  5. I disagree. The game is too easy. Everyone should have a legitimate chance of death. And should die sometimes. Especially when they screw up. Especially on +4. As is... well let's just roll our faces on the keyboard some more, and pat ourselves on the back for it. Said content never came. And won't. At least not for years. Don't get me wrong. HC staff are amazing. But there are certain realities we all need to face.
  6. U right, I wrong. But seriously, there has been too much powercreep since the early days of live.
  7. I think the problem is the massive amount of survivability that IO sets can give. Specifically, blasters, scrappers and stalkers can become tank-mages. Brutes and Tanks are already tank-mages. Why play support at all? Honestly, the game has had way too much power-creep since live. Time for nerfs! NERF IOs! NERF Nukes! Nerf brutes! NERF ALL THE THINGS!!!1!

  10. Minor clarification: fear does not have a purple set. Otherwise: thumbs up!
  11. T3: Ray of Light - chain ST hold. Cool. T6: Incandescent Eruption - First impression: 120 second cooldown on a power that is a different flavor of jolting chain? - On closer look: guess the point is you could T6 to illuminate a bunch of enemies, the T4 would refract them, and in the process the T3 would essentially become an AoE hold. - Cool mechanic. Nothing like it really exists so far. Too complex? In this form, whether or not I'd play it would 100% depend on whether or not the chain mechanic dominates all targets in the chain (unlike Electric control's chain confuse - which only dominates the first target it). If it did, I would certainly try the set.
  12. Sorry for the very delayed response. Real world. I'm a huge fan. Concept and mechanics. Would definitely take for a spin. I tend toward doms, so I'd hope for some way of incorporating domination into the ground based powers. My only concern is the pet. Is it meant to be fragile like fire imps, or fragile like photon seekers (the PB "pet"). Apologies if this was already answered!
  13. No, I don't think so. No, I don't think so. The only logic I can think to program into macros/binds is an attack rotation by using rotating bindloadfilesilent commands to rebind the key to the next attack in the rotation. You'd need exactly as many bind files as you have attacks in the rotation. But that's a bind, not a macro. Macros are slightly more limited.
  14. I'd likely use GI mainly as a lotg mule, and perhaps if the defense bonus stacked with SI (can't recall atm). Which is probably a good reason to remove/change. We already have that though. Why replicate a power? Speaking Personally, I want PA on a dom to experiene an iconic power that I'm very nostalgic about In a new play context. I wouldn't want it changed too much, which is why @oedipus_texsuggestion to put it in the assault set and balance the rest of the secondary around PAs damage (no snipe, no cone for example) is actually a really good one. What about a location based confuse? Call it illusion chamber, or chamber of confusion, or some derivative thereof. Give it a nice visual impact. I'm thinking something like faraday cage or the force field status protection bubble. Something that makes it clear where the effect ends. Let it dominate on the first tick. Let it tick often enough and the confuse duration be enhanceable so that it could keep a boss confused if slotted to 95% confuse duration. Let it be "just perma" at high recharge. Something like 30 second location duration with 2 min cooldown. Give it a reasonable size location based effect. Smaller than seeds of confusion and mass confusion likely. Let it notify mobs. Under those conditions I think it would be balanced (easier to balance location based confuse duration than the "confuse is the best mez but considered the worst by some so it has the longest duration" situation we're in right now). And incredibly thematic. But keep deceive as an illusion control power; mind control is the only current troller/dom set with 2 confuses, but would remain king/queen of non-notify.
  15. This is a good point worth considering: how long does it take a solo dom playing at 0x1 to fill the domination bar? I haven't tested it recently, but my guess is that it is much longer than 90 seconds. In which case, the whole proposal falls flat and I would not like to to be changed. Thank you for bringing up this point. Agreed.
  16. To be fair, unless a player has permadom without hasten (123% global recharge I think?) they'll lose domination if they leave their keyboard for more than 90 seconds. There's really nothing perma about perma dom at all, at least as most of us get it (via hasten). So it comes down to whether or not a person is more annoyed about potentially losing domination during travel (as you are), vs losing it because you missed the click by 1-2 seconds. Personally, I tend to lose domination more often due to the second circumstance (but I use hasten and have all my keybinds set to switch my auto power back and forth between hasten and domination... it's just that I almost always have a second power queued, so sometimes the auto doesn't fire and I lose domination). Anyway, not a big deal to me personally either way.
  17. So. Much. Yes. Would be nice if synaptic overload dominated on the entire chain as well.
  18. That set defining abilities do not benefit from the class defining inherent is much, much more than a small blemish. I'd argue that this is a serious design flaw. Electric control only benefits from domination on the generic holds and immobs that most sets get. 4 powers. Illusion control has 3 powers that would benefit from domination. This is not the chasm that you make it out to be. Your example that all sets benefit from domination on the aoe immobilize is a little... weird. How often do you actually cast your aoe immob on the dominators you play? Does the extra duration actually make a difference, vs casting again or using it for aoe damage? Using the single target hold as a example would have been much more convincing...
  19. A notable exception, for example, would be grav/psi. The grav blasts have higher dpa than /psi's ranged blasts. /psi has some decent melee attacks though.
  20. Ya the more I think about it, the more I could go either way. I doubt we'll see it anytime soon though. Sounds resource intensive. On an unpopular AT. When there are a 1000 egregious balance issues. And they can't recruit developers because of the NDA for the talks. One can dream though.
