  1. Well I thought the editor was going to be the death of me on this one, but it's finally ready for a grand opening!

THE WATCHTOWER - Command Center for Paragon Corps in Galactic Sector 20918.  Base code PARAGON-15105

    PZ0rlq1.jpg

    Who are the Paragon Corps?

The Paragon Corps is an ancient intergalactic organization devoted to law enforcement, peacekeeping, exploration and scientific discovery.  Founded several millennia ago in a distant galaxy, they have continued to expand and spread their influence further across the universe.

Each member, known as a Paragon, utilizes sophisticated technologies granting the user with incredible abilities that are derived from and directed by the power of their will.

Strongest and most powerful among the Paragons are known as the Guardians, beings of immense will and psionic abilities far beyond those of ordinary beings.

The Paragon Corps are soldiers, engineers and scientists devoted to keeping the peace in the universe.  Not only are they keeping the peace ... they are looking for something.

Unfortunately, Marvel is now using that same name for their IPs.  Clearly, we don't want to lose the name, but if the GMs determine it's against TOS, then we'll have to suck it up and accept a new name.

I can empathize, however I think it better to be safe than sorry here and your group should be renamed, no offense meant.  If you all believe that strongly that you should be allowed to use the name, by all means take it up with Disney yourselves.  It is not worth risking the game for everyone else.  That rule was put in place for a reason after all.

The devs claimed when they started working on hardmode stuff that they weren't going to move the whole game toward City of Dark Souls.  Page 4 has made it clear they were lying.

To be fair, optional hard mode content is not exactly turning the game into City of Dark Souls.  There has to be new content added designed with fully kitted Incarnates in mind.

But for real, if we're going to point at HCs problems and say "it's not the best server ", then there's an implication that other servers do these objectively better AND that there IS such a thing as a "best server".

Each of them have something unique that sets them apart other servers.  The costume editor on Rebirth as an example is vastly superior to any other server.  New Dawn opening up signature power sets and freeform characters are unique and interesting options.  Homecoming modernizing the back-end code sets the foundation for future longevity.

Personally, I think it a shame the development community is so fractured.

It's the ability to not question why things are done or not have a differing opinion and just following the rank and file that disturbs me.

Completely agree on this point and would add that it is more than clear rules are in no way applied evenly.  Very sad to see and in my opinion this kind of unfriendly, unwelcoming environment is doing more harm than good.

That is how I understood it as well.  With that said, it was more eye-rolling/groan worthy than anything else in my opinion.  Despite how the right-wing media is trying to blow this out of proportion, this scene could use a few minor edits as it did feel a bit forced with the social messaging.  You can eliminate the "being cat called" line and replace "incompetent men" with "incompetent people" and the scene would have worked just the same.

I'm going to be interested to see how doling out RMs for iTrials is going to impact everything. I mentioned in the feedback thread that this change means everyone - even casual gamers who aren't especially chasing RMs - is now going to have hundreds of them falling into their laps per week. Seems like that could potentially have a greater effect on the game than those few people converting Emps to RMs. But, what do I know? May not be a big deal.

Farming iTrials is great for those who are into that sort of thing.  For the solo player who primarily earned merits through running story arcs, this change does not address the loss of those bonus merits earned by converting EMP merits from vet levels.  Converting allowed you to receive merits above and beyond what you would normally get for the story arcs themselves.  Now those solo players are being herded into doing iTrials or other content that they may have little to no interest in to make up for that loss, or more likely encourage them to start AE farming more to make enough to buy whatever they want.

You didn't read my statement correctly. "The Danger is many people cashing out at the same time." Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it wont ever happen. Maybe I'm unusual but I rarely ever used my EMP Merits and I have probably thousands across all my toons.

I read your post just fine.  As you said, people may literally have thousands of EMP merits.  So what?  This has never been an issue before nor is it likely to ever be one.  Sure, it is possible every player would cash out every EMP merit all at once.  It is also possible to get struck by lightning or win the lottery.   Again, even if that did happen, so what?  That does not mean it will crash the economy.  It should be clear now there are quite a lot of players who were converting these to reward merits for Winter IOs, ATOs or Purple Recipes or to buy recipes from the merit vendor for their alts, which is not going to cause inflation or whatever other detrimental thing you seem to be concerned about.  No doubt there are already trillionaires in the game and the economy has not crashed because of them.

I have mixed thoughts on this. I never did the Emp to Reward Merit thing but I kind of understand why people would do it. But at the same time, the idea of making a disposable toon for the purpose of harvesting Empyrean Merits just does not sit well with me.

What other people chose to do with their time in game does not bother me in the least.  If they want to waste away their time making disposable characters, more power to them.  Chances are very likely I would never be on a team with them anyway.

What happens when the game has an excess of Emp Merits? Two possibilities, people miss out on content and rewards or, the danger of a large number of players cashing out at the same time causing the in game economy to crash.

Given the chatter I have seen about this in game since the patch, there has been an excess of EMP merits for a few years now and the in game economy has never crashed because of them.  It would not have crashed now either.

Neither of you are wrong and I'm fully aware I've added to the crap as well. Sometimes we have to. Sometimes we should. Some opinions (that usually aren't opinions and are rather factually untrue statements) are so ridiculously stupid that they must be called out and mocked. As they say, evil wins when good humans do nothing.

I am in no way a saint here either nor have I ever claimed to be.  I agree, sometimes contributing to the crap is necessary.

That is one of the things that really upset me about the Incarnate system was the lore that forced "godhood" or, at least, "demigodhood" upon my character. I was playing a superhero game and not a game about becoming a demigod.

Totally agree here.  I never cared for this idea, but I do understand the lore limitations around it.

Some groups have learned to obliterate these groups of minions without bringing along any dedicated healers.  A better build would allow for someone to not have to spend time on the ground or watching their health bar and thus can do more pew pewing which in turn sounds much more fun.

Well again, I think you are misunderstanding the post.  But whatever, you seem to be stuck on that and just want to insult people so good day to you.

Some people quit things because its too hard.  Others power through and get better.  All of that is perfectly fine.

But lets call a spade a spade.  Being down on content because its too hard for some and yet others can adapt is more reflective on the ones stuck in the mud.

I'm glad there's other content @Excraft can enjoy where it doesn't feel so tedious getting hurt so much, I say bring me more minions!

I could very well be wrong, but I believe @Excraft is saying the content is not too hard, just tedious and therefore boring.  As I read it, he also has done a few runs on the ASF hard mode to get badges with those in his circle.  I have to agree, hard mode is not in any way "hard", just tedious and boring.

Insulting people's build or ability to adapt is not helping the situation and just makes you look quite childish in my opinion.

Ah there it is!  The bullies beat you up.

Feeling "super" is knowing how capable these minions now are and being able to shrug them off without needing your healer.  Maybe if you got a bit better and built your character wiser you'd find it less boring dieing so much...

So anyone who plays for different reasons and has different views on what is or is not "super" means they have a bad build and do not know how to play?  That seems insulting to me.
