  1. It’s been years but back on Live I had Aid Self on my Elec/Shield Scrapper. I was softcapped to S/L and Melee and AOE if I recall, but still found myself needing a heal during pylons, GM’s and AV’s when soloing them. High DEF makes doing an Aid Self fairly useful as you can heal up without fear of interrupt assuming you aren’t taking DOT damage. Preventative Med proc was in there also but it’s nature didn’t lend as much support as Aid Self. When teaming though.....never used it.
  2. As for the player above who said they find this a slow build....I certainly do not. At +4/x8, I’m taking down spawns solo as fast as a full team does. There are exceptions, like Council wolves who run off. I can’t stress enough the combat teleport technique. Go figure out how far 60 yards is by sight. Good way to do this is get a mission door and then travel up to it, it will count down as you get close. 60 yards is your Supremacy distance. At this distance, and as long as your Bots are in line of direct sight, your passive +25% damage bonus is functioning. You don’t need Bodyguard with a Bots/Time because you are SELDOM taking any damage. You TP the 60 (or fewer) yards directly into the spawn, you take the alpha (it almost always misses) with Times Juncture running, Bots open up from range and then close distance to melee. Outside of runners or hard bosses, you are pretty much just doing this every spawn. Now compared to how fast my TW/Bio scrapper can take down a +4/x8 spawn...yeah its slower. But not terribly so.
  3. Off topic, but how are you guys getting your builds to post with colors? No matter what I try, when exporting from Pines it’s always white text.
  4. Best use of Windfall for AE farming is to grab another toon at level 49, exemp off of them (as a 50 farmer) so that you are now effectively lvl 49, but with all your lvl 50 iPowers, Purples, etc intact. Options> Double Influence when Exemped. Let them pick the mission (Comic Con or other) at +4/x8, and dual-box or dual-instance but they never come inside the farm. The exemp trick alone nets you around ~40% more or so per boss vs running solo farming at 50, plus extra per Lt/Minions as well. With Windfall running as well, you’ll get a significant boost to max influence earned per hour vs just solo farming. Not stopping to sell, I am running 4-5 mins per run, just in/out. I can get in 12-14 runs pretty consistently (2-2.8 arcs total) and between ampe’d influence and multiple Purple drops, it’s not rare for me to max out more than 200MM per hour after selling.

    Beam / Traps

Here's mine. Softcapped DEF to S/L/E, good recharge and a little (not great) Resists. I've got Ribo's in Tough but you could improve that a bit with different slotting. As others have said, on iTeams stuff is being steamrolled too fast for you to make good use of /Traps. But I built this for solo'ing GM's, TF's and AV's and it's highly capable there. 6. The thing with TW/Bio on a scrapper is that for PVE you really don't need purples or even catalysts to be effective. While I like both the builds above, if you -JUST- want a leveling build for PVE content, this one is Melee DEF capped and almost capped S/L Resists as well. I've been using it for leveling, will likely respect into the second build posted above post 50, but for the climb up, buy Attuned and try this? 7. I’ve done it two ways. First, and my preferred, is six-slotting Numina’s. With the full set you get a +3.75% Ranged DEF bonus, which is also how I planned my DP/MC build overall. I softcapped Range defense. The big regen bonus was nice also, but this is a build that doesn’t really suffer from Health deficiencies at all, particularly since I’ve slotted the Preventative Proc elsewhere. Second, and I played with it for many levels, was to 5-slot Impeded Swiftness slow. The bonuses weren’t quite as good, but if you’ve softcapped Ranged DEF otherwise, it’s a different playstyle.
  8. I do three things on all toons almost immediately after creation and hitting minimum level requirements. It’s literally a checklist for every toon I build. -Get someone to drop a Ouro near Ms. Liberty in Atlas. Go to Ouro and get my own Ouro portal. -Go use the Tunnel in Atlas to visit Night Ward, enter mansion, get badge for access to Midnight Club -Go to RWZ and run Levantera’s mission and get the Vanguard Badge With those three things, I can go anywhere and do anything and have ready access to travel abilities between missions/zones that otherwise would slow down play and/or negate the value of doing certain activities like the MSR runs.
  9. Fat man posted it on a different /MC thread here:
  10. As someone who mained a BS/Regen scrapper for years on Live, agree with all of this. Then I discovered the Homecoming version of a Broadsword/Shield STALKER. Everything written above is almost 100% opposite for a Stalker. Crits on command? Go Stalker. Want to literally Assassin Strike + Crit Headsplitter followed by a Crit Disembowel or Crit Hack? Yeah, go Stalker. I ROUTINELY find myself finishing off everyone else’s kills. I kill the boss, then move onto the other boss and/or play finishing kill to everyone else’s targeted quarry. I’ve had Scrappers comment “How are you getting so many Crits per spawn?” It’s gloriously broken thanks to the Stalker ATO. And I literally have almost no reason to play Broadsword on a Scrapper on Homecoming as a result. And I LOVE scappers! Seriously, go play one. There’s a whole thread about Broadsword/Shield Stalkers in the Stalker forum. This is an outstanding powerset....but not for a Scrapper. The hearty CHUNK of a Headsplitter is a glorious sound. And you’ll hear it FAR more often as a one-shot-to-a-+3/4-Lieut on a Stalker than you will on a Scrapper.
  11. Can't believe nobody has posted yet, this is a very popular build. I've made a couple now, my first was a cheaper build, softcap ranged DEF only (just under really at 44.x% before Agility Alpha), that took advantage of Aid Self and Personal Force Field when things went south. But it got me to level 20 Incarnate's with very few deaths on teams. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 12. Shield Charge is coded as a pseudo pet, so it’s your pet doing the damage, not you. Oversight on Devs part likely.
  13. I just decided to go Body Mastery from 41 onwards. I’m 47 now and that fixed my End issues. Leveling Advice: For anyone following this thread, the build is going to have you sucking END when solo or otherwise not teamed with an END enhancing support partner. And all of the purple IO sets in the posted builds are only slottable at level 50, meaning you’ll have to use alternative sets and thus won’t reach your full potential until 50+ anyways. And without Parry buffs you’ll be below softcap for everything, so heed that warning about working it into your chains. So my suggestion is follow the build as posted until 41, when you’ll diverge and take Body Mastery’s Superior Conditioning at 41 and Physical Perfection at 44. I suggest three slotting SC with one Perf Shifter +End and two End Recovery enhancements, and 2 slotting Physical Perfection with another Perf Shifter +End and Preventive Medicine +Absorb proc. Without heals and with less-than-softcap DEF you will find it kicking in more than you’d think. Feel free to take Laser Beam eyes at 47 and Hasten at 49. Then once you’ve hit 50 and got your Alpha slotted up (go Agility Core or Cardiac would be my suggestions) collect your purpled and do a respec into Z’s posted build. I felt very OP on teams up till my early 40’s. But the lack of END, coupled with the amount of energy attacks (against which you’ll have a whopping 11% DEF without Parry) knocked me down several pegs. Build accordingly to mitigate.
  14. Just wanted to jump on the bandwagon here and say thank you for this thread. I played one Stalker on Live and it was only for PVP purposes, and permanent-locked into Siren’s Call level of PVP. Never left the zone. I’m a weirdo and have problems thematically with a Stalker running around on Blue side. So I got over that theme issue, actually have a toon with a “reason” for being Blue side now and totally rebuilt my original main BS/Shield Scrapper into this BS/Shield Stalker. I’m not quite as durable as my Scrapper was solo, but in teams, I’m dealing sooooo much more damage its almost embarrassing. I’ve even had scrappers in the thick of things next to me asking me how I’m able to crit so much. While they whittle away at their one hard target, I take out the whole spawn around the tank and then come over to finish up theirs for them. I’m only 38 right now, so END is a serious problem and I’m worried about my 40’s in that regard. I may take Body Mastery and then do a respec closer to 48 when I can get all my other set bonuses slotted out. I must say on Homecoming there’s so many more powersets to play with now, and I really appreciate you pointing out how utterly broken, in a fun way, this one is. Thanks!
  15. Pretty sure it was there back on Live too, but experimental and most grafx cards back then didn’t have enough memory to support it. City zones, I think, really look nifty using the mode. But some maps (COT underground lairs for example) look terrible to me and are virtually unplayable in cel shaded mode. Could just be my rig though.
  16. I was a Fire/Energy blaster on Live and learned to love the blapper style of play. It was better when kiting was a thing but you can still do that to some extent now. SS in and Total Focus the Boss and be out of range as animation finished was so fun. Take a hard look at /Martial Combat. I blipped at least a couple times per spawn. Perfect follow up to your quick charge crashless nukes.
  17. BAF runs are very fast way to T4 out. I’m vet level 5 and have T4’d out 3 incarnate powers and T3’d all others, two of them twice now and accumulating Emps to T4 those also. Throw in some MSR runs for fast levels and Threads also. I hate Hami slideshows personally.
  18. As a DP/MC blaster, I’ve no idea what this talk of “half Endurance” even means?
  19. Do Scorpion’s arc the fast way to unlock all patron power pools. Hop over to Pocket D, Null the Gull to Villain, -1/+1 mission difficulty, Scorpion’s arc can then be run in about 40 mins. Send out messages in global and you’ll likely find people who want to run it with you. When done, PPP’s unlocked, Null the Gull back to Hero and back on blue side. SOOOOOOO much easier than it was back on Live where you had to spend days making the round trip alignment conversions. For a Robotics MM, it’s really hard to beat the combination of +DEF from Protector Bots and Scorpion Shield, especially for the S/L/E defense bonuses.
  20. Same. I’ve gotten fast enough with Heather’s arc I can do the whole thing in about 10 mins. I also got lucky with the random Incarnate component and hit rares several times (no VR yet). So I’m now getting about 5-10 Emp Merits an hour. You can T4 out everything in a weekend doing this, coupled with a few BAF runs.
  21. Thanks for the feedback. Regarding more recharge, I’ve had this build up as high as 200+% recharge before. Chronoshift is +50% by itself. But what I’ve found, since I have really only my one primary attack, I’m just not needing anything perma-d other than Perma-Powerboosted Farsight. So what I do is leave Hasten off of auto and whenever I’m ready to take on a spawn, I’m clicking PB+Farsight+Chronoshift and then clicking Hasten again when it’s up. This is 193% recharge when those are both running with these set bonuses as is (off memory, I think I’m at 73% recharge from set bonuses). Add in a T4 Ageless and you’ve got plenty to get to perma Chronoshift AND Hasten if I recall. So I agree, you bring down some of the DEF set bonuses as you’ve got so much to work with already here, and gain a little more Recharge, but you are going to have enough Recharge to move from spawn to spawn +4/x8 as-is already. So for me, didn’t need anything else. That’s the cool part about playing this set though...so many ways to slot, especially the /Time side.
  22. The best tanker set I ever played was a TW/Elec Brute. Had to use Taunt to hold AV aggro many times, whereas a tanker could just hold it, but the superlative damage output was too much of an advantage to ignore.
  23. There was a time when Claws/Elec brutes were the belle of the ball. I think there’s just so many other choices now. Nothing wrong with the set. It’s a fast and fun primary.
  24. Ditto everyone else’s comments, DEF is generally going to be better than RES, but I’ll go a little further and say that positional DEF is better than typed DEF. Ranged DEF in particular for Blasters in most cases, although Melee DEF can be highly useful for a Blapper. Generally speaking, the easiest DEF to obtain in the game is S/L, which is also the most common attack type (especially lower levels).
  25. Here’s how to make Vengeance work on your pet. Check the LFT channel or just the server global channels. Or swing by AE in Atlas. Look for a lowbie LFT, blasters are great for this, but really any lowbie will work. Tell them you’ll keep them buffed and healed and they’ll earn great XP. Once in mission, tell them to group tightly with your pets “to avoid aggro.” Now, pull aggro onto your pets. Don’t heal/buff them at all. When they die, Veng off of them. Then Rez them. Rinse/repeat. Profit. Master your evil laugh. MM’s were originally a villain class after all. You’ll have to replace your Vengeance Pet frequently, they do wear out and often just run away from the team to the exits or quit altogether. But I find a steady supply of them readily available. Fully expendable.
