  1. Well it kinda is, and yeah it is straight math that you are ignoring. I could pick at least 2 types of damage that would kill your build. Energy WILL NOT kill my build, nor will psi, toxic or any of the rest. If you would like a demonstration - im game, but I also want to pick one for yours. And I'm not trying to be rude, but your build has glaring holes in it you could drive a semi through, mine does not. Not being at soft cap unsaturated on a power that will allow you to soft cap if you are saturated is not a hole. Because if you have 1 Nrg enemy in range it's not going to matter because you also have resistance that's high enough to make it not matter even if you aren't attacking to proc might of the tanker to cap your res to that damage type. That's why invul is a hybrid set. You have to balance the res and the defense. Your main task is to cover the psi/slight toxic hole. Now, back to saturation. If you have more than one in range your defense increases so it's actually making you stronger def side - you are spamming might of the tanker also making you stronger res side. Even if you weren't spamming You would still do this unscathed. You can't lose. Also, melee defense at 49% means no melee attack will hit. So that leaves ranged and AOE as the only energy types that could do anything to you only when facing 1 foe - where at that point you should have at least 74% res and likely more - it's not going to hurt. Suppose it did (which it won't) you have Dull pain which heals, caps HP, and increases healing factor. Again it's not going to even make it to that layer of mitigation. Suppose all that failed - (which it won't.... Again) you have melee core. If you can't survive 1 ranged energy blaster with half that you are playing a different game. Now take your build. Invul has one glaring hole - psi - and your build didn't cover it well enough in my opinion, especially with the debuffs that come along with some psi opponents. I can think of at least 20 popular maps that would hurt your build pretty bad and mine wouldn't have any issues with the same maps. Popping inspirations isn't an option in my book. Not for my tanks.
  2. Its my pleasure, yeah tweaking it from here is all about your personal preference and flair. its very versatile though you can do just about anything and as long as those baseline numbers are there you wil be fine.
  3. hehe take a look at this... mids_build (18).mxd Chefs kiss - you can have it all. Only one thing i would do differently - is swap conserve power for FA because nothing can blind you with that and end shouldnt be an issue - if you had an invul/ss i would say keep the CP for rage crash, but you should be fine without CP.
  4. I used to think my shield build was stronger, but once i worked this build out, theres no comparison. I just looked at that build with the laser beam eyes btw and i think that one is pretty solid it should do you well. Only change i would make is to figure out how to fee up one slot to put the gaussian proc into invincibility cause it will proc more there with enemy in range.

Thats where your other mitigations come in to play, I have fought these types with that build and no issues, in fact i never even end up using melee core but its still there if you needed it. if you are facing one energy foe the combination of the unsaturated invincibility and the resistance is enough - keep in mind also the might of the tanker proc - if spammed correctly in an attack chain you are going to be fully res capped to all types by that point anyway - nothing will hurt you if you utilize that build correctly - i promise you - in fact i would stake my life on it... lol theres a few things in this life im sure of and that build is one of them. You dont want to break the 70% base balance though because then you wont be as strong against EVERYTHING, with that build you are in every aspect but its reliant on that balance to give you confidence that anything you step into it cant kill you.

  7. You are giving up over 20 pts of resistance to energy and 37 pts on psi, here is why that isnt a good idea. GO back to the brikhouse build - saturate invincibility - if you are in an energy rich environment - 8 energy foes - you are still covered at the soft cap and then some - plus you still have 49% melee defense which takes precedent over anything thats lower than it. and then 70+% resistance to cover the rest - which will be higher if you are in fact in a target rich environment because the might of the tanker proc will be going off like crazy and you will likely be close to res capped at that point - i usually have 3-5 instances of the proc active when im all out engaged. and again - you still have very high psi resistances - 49% melee defense - dull pain - melee core. Seriously its the most well rounded invul build you will ever play. You go up against toxic, or psi with those numbers and it will eat you alive. A good rule of thumb on invul is if you can get to 70 %+resist and you have invincibility on you can survive anything.

And if you ever did get in trouble against anything normal - which you wont - you still have melee core and dull pain to lean on and then you are res capped, and hp capped and the enemy loses any chance to do anything other than tickle fight you to death. I normally run with assault radial however because i never end up needing melee core unless im facing someone like Fully tower powered recluse or Emperor Cole in the Magisterium. Having worthy psi numbers allows you to have a well rounded build to where you never have to worry about anything.
  9. That build has 0 Issues with energy attacks incoming, and you dont give any ground to psi or toxic. I have ran it on just about everything and its unkillable against anything normal thats not unresistable and even unkillable against unresistable if you stay on your toes. See check the melee defense being at 49 - combined with ageless core its more than sufficient to ward off any melee energy attacks and any ranged or aoe will wicke off though the resistance numbers. Energy wont kill this build i assure you of that.
  10. Also, agility is good. Destiny, go ageless radial and you will be a lot stronger against debuffs - you don't need rebirth cause you have dull pain. Mighty radial judgement is an awesome crowd control feature Interface degen is good Hybrid I always get both assault radial for normal ops and melee core when I'm going against something really nasty - to swap the two AS needed. Lore I always get longbow - and then add another for theme if desired but the -regen on longbow is hard to pass up.

  15. Haha yeah you would think at some point I would have done a shield psi, but the two burned themselves out in my progression at different times so they never intersected.   16. Psi melee is really good but occasionally you will encounter enemy groups that resist it really well, like some robot types. Theres usually a healthy portion of smashing in psi at all times so its more of a non issue, psi more often than not feels extremely powerful, fast and has the mechanic insight to make it even more powerful. I highly recommend psi melee. In pve you wont have any issues at all with it 🙂
  17. If you are only using SOs with rage the crash is very real and severe and much harder to work around. On a set that is only brought up to speed by the existence of rage. SO balancing - there isnt anything wrong with rage because SS isnt super without it. Set bonuses make it easier to work around, but that is what set bonuses do, and even then you still have the 10 second crash. I dunno, the whole set would need reworked to change rage because without it SS is pretty anemic.

One cool thing about the new Regen is that it will let you 12 slot miracle into a 6 slot power, even at that it still probably will not be enough of a "Miracle", but if you can make it to the epic pools there is a new option there called Intervention - the Tier 1 is Reform as a Willpower, but that will likely have to be nerfed at some point also because it will be universally chosen and nobody will ever know what the Tier 2, 3, 4, and 5 is. The sound for Reform will be "Best Cry Ever."

  22. You don't even want to know what I heard MoG was going to do, But I did hear that if you activate integration in a nemesis mission, Mender Silos will teleport in to debuff you by doing the whip and nay nay.

  25. I guess im a purist, because i never use any of the pool power attacks. I take that back, I have used spring attack once actually and its fantastic.
