  1. You cant legitimately separate the two, because rage by itself without the Procs, or set bonuses make it worlds harder than without them. Rage by itself sucks honestly its not OP and its a hard mechanic to work around when it crashes. In game i would dispute this, because there is no way when playing a Hybrid resist/defense set without the existence of Procs and other set bonuses against certain types of enemy that can defense debuff especially that Rage will put you in a bad way really fast. No you wont ever get me to accept temp powers to buff around a mechanic designed to gimp you - and rightfully so - as a means to overcome the mechanic. Sorry but that dog doesnt hunt. LoL if you read back a ways on some of the old rage topics you can find tons of this, maybe even one where i shelved my Invul/SS last June because i hadnt figured out how to overcome the new rage crash yet. Theres lots of gripes out there about rage crash and how bad it is. but again, rage crashes - therefore it cant be 100% up, the crash is there whether you admit it or not. you have 10 seconds of not being able to do anything, and a frequent back to back 10 seconds if you are double stacking rage. Its not perma even if you have it running its never perma because... it... will... crash. If anything is broken it isnt rage its SS as a whole, because as it is its fun to have that vulnerability to work around. Saying it isnt a vulnerability is disingenuous at best. I personally dont see it as broken anymore, because its limitation is in the crash. You literally have to build around it to not matter.
  2. AC is fixed now thankfully. Do any of the CoT do -dmg to you? cause i just did it on Nemesis and jab was 5 haymaker was 11 KO Blow was 24. Same on combat log. Earlier i was testing it on the death mages at portal corp.
  3. I honestly forgot to check, and not going back upstairs till the a.c. blower gets fixed. It's hotter than Satan's buttcrack up there right now. If anything was open today, I could get a capacitor and fix it myself. I'll check again later when it's not so hot.
  4. I just checked, it was jab at 2, haymaker at 4. But the point is you literally lose damage output in the crash. Thats a penalty no other set experiences. And worth it for the benefit when it's not under penalty. You can't justify the set being OP because of proc effects and other bonuses though, because set bonuses and Incarnates is the only way to make the crash not lethal, but you still do no damage worth mentioning for 10 seconds.
  5. Nothing is balanced in the current game. Especially proc monsters. Rage is a minor offender compared to those. With rage you are penalized then penalized again if you are double stacking, and that will kill a novice. There are no penalties to proc monsters.
  6. Talking tanks though, remember Brutes hate Elvis.
  7. Sure, the rad part anyway but I should be able to swap in SS as the primary. I'll post something later for you.
  8. Nah, I don't miss it - I quit Tanking with taunt years ago. It's just a preference, and skill to be able to tank and not need it. It's still a useful power, especially if you are newer to tanking, but I usually opt for more damage or survivability in its place now because a good aura and aoe in the right hands is all the taunt you need.
  9. If you main Shield, Invul, Even SR - which the first 2 are arguably the top 2 tank survivability sets in the game and I would wager thematically speaking what a good portion pick to pair with SS, it matters a great deal. Who cares about Brutes anyway, I'm pretty sure they hate Elvis. Hehe.
  10. Nah again, nah. lol. You can't use procs or incarnate powers existence as an excuse to balance a core power. And yeah, I figured out how to work around the debuff crash myself. But. The key words there are "work around" it's not something you can ignore or pretend like it doesn't exist, you actually have to slot certain sets and pick certain powers - even incarnate a certain way just to mitigate the end and def crash - and even then once in a while they can get a run on you and still make it challenging. I don't think the crash is silly, I see it as a challenge like superman finding a way around kryptonite - and both appreciate and respect the crash being there.
  11. Nah, sometimes literally 2pts of damage pops up when you throw jab or haymaker. And as far as temp powers go, you can't use temp powers in context of whether or not a power should be nerfed. I just take my 2 pts of damage and roll with it.
  12. How are you factoring in the damage debuff, and also the end and defense debuff from the rage crash though? Thats not insignificant when you are doing all of 2 pts of damage for that long. I agree that rage makes the set, but, so? Why shouldn't it? You have to work around 3 huge hurdles rage crash thows at you - and even more if you are greedy and run double stacked rage. And the floored damage is something you cant work around until it expires. And again in my saying its not powerful, but its not even close to being TW powerful, and you pay for the power with crashes.
  13. If you are going Energy Aura, I would highly suggest scrapper or stalker as you have more damage utility than a brute on average and dont have to worry about fury generation. Energy aura stalker is really fun.
  14. Just out of curiosity what are you basing that on?
  15. Energy Aura isn't avail for tanks. But it is good.
  16. Tanker (Shield Defense - Warmace).mxd And that one too.
  17. Try this. Tanker (Fiery Aura - Broadsword).mxd

    Sell me Taunt.

Yeah I did it the whole time, it was pretty incredible-ive never done that before, so I wonder what makes the invul better at it than my shield when the shield is just as good in every other encounter. I think my health got to halfway once and then I hit dull pain. Could it be something to do with invincibility?

    Sell me Taunt.

IKinda off topic, but I saw something the other night I had never seen. We were on the battle maiden stage of the apex and my invul ss could actually let the blue patch hit and stand in it without much damage at first - for a good while actually. I would have to move eventually but ive never experienced it where the blue patch wasnt brutal or instantly devastating.

    Sell me Taunt.

All I know is I throw the dagger, the dagger hits her and she chases me out of the blue patch. Don't know if it's gauntlet or what but it works. I'm not selling taunt btw, I never take it.

    Sell me Taunt.

Nope, cant sell you something you dont need, envenomed daggers will pull battle maiden better than anything btw.
  22. Yes, I don't know how I forgot to post the shield mace build. Basically the shield, invul, rad, fire, Elec, dark, wp frameworks are all the same - just swap in your secondary of choice and try to keep the sets similar to the secondaries I have in there. I'll post the build when I get home from work later. Are you opposed to the psi melee swords? If you like that the most damaging build I have ever made is Lodestarr a Fire Psi. If you want an actual physical sword set I can make you one when I get home also. Thanks for looking!
  23. That's good... Because if you were i would find a water tower near you. 🙂
