  1. We did a 31:46 manti that I can't post the screeny of b/c of something in the chat on it. But can be a number to shoot for. Doubt it'd last through the weekend anyway as we had to wait around on one of our redside pals to find atlas park for the hopkins mish. really.

  2. search 'hero merit rewards' and 'villain merit rewards' on paragonwiki.com. a lot of the numbers have been increased for homecoming but it should give you a good idea. General advice I'd say to start off villain (hit null to switch to rogue so you don't miss out on Posi runs). Those arcs give the best merit/time bang for buck early on and are generally more interesting and more contained than their blue counterparts (with the exception of some of the late added ones). If you want to do the Praetoria stuff it's usually a good merit/minute choice since HC upped the rewards from their piddling live server amounts but I'd recommend only doing them as flashbacks so you don't get stuck there for 20 levels.

  3. Just a PSA - if you're playing at level 50 Tactics one-slotted with a +5 ToHit IO plus an offensive amplifier temp power from p2w will get you your 22%. At level 50 the amplifier is pricey for some at 20 million/8 hours but you're going to make that in 8 hours on any level 50 unless it just stands around most of the time (and the damage/recharge the amplifier also brings is non-trivial). The only problem with this is that when you exemp you'll lose your 22% (not sure of the exact level it drops below and don't care enough to test. definitely gone at 30). A kismet makes up for the exemping if you do it a lot but now that there's a sliding damage scale corresponding to ToHit you probably don't need to bother.

  4. Mine has a nucleolus hami O, annihilation -res, positron's, javelin volley, impeded swiftness, explosive strike. left out trap of the hunter just for damage variety since creepers natively does lethal and i had the javelin in my base already.

  5. Back to topic - anyone else's purp drops get turned back on by the patch? I know they've always been super streaky cuz of the low rate and rng but i got one in like 3.5 weeks and 9 since yesterday's patch. Not that I'm complaining.

Minor correction on using the Dark Astoria 1st arc to farm: At the completion of the arc the reward is 1 common incarnate salvage (random) , 1 Empyrean merit, and then a CHOICE between a second Empyrean merit OR another piece of incarnate salvage (level is random but the particular piece is not).

I only took the time to write this out because IMHO this is the best arc for farming several Tsoo defeat/gladiator badges. Chasing Tsoo all over is a huge waste of time (especially if a lower level toon doesn't have a full powerset) when the 3rd mission in this arc stacks them all up for you. Naturally if you want the badges/gladiators/accolades before lvl 50 you don't have this option, but any lvl 50 who wants these shouldn't have to run all over Independence Port or Talos Island hunting for them. Off topic advice to be sure.

I'll add to the off-topic advice by telling you to run an Ice Mistral SF for all your lowbie Tsoo needs. Big kill all on the giant boat map.

  7. If you're wanting just to get to Cimerora use the lfg and lock Imperious (Time's Arrow) for yourself. Using the Midnighter club for zone travel would work as Korbian explained but that'd be a rather roundabout way of going about things - i.e. i could only see someone doing it for RP purposes.

  8. it's both. it's a patch that follows you (kinda slowly) that slows, knocks down and springs immobilize patches from corpses. Oh and damages. And as a ground targeted patch it can be used out of line of sight. It's just generally awesome normally. Procced it's insane.

In fact, you can just sell any Catalysts you might have: they're selling for a couple million Inf apiece right now.  Or just save them for your ATOs or Winter IOs, to make them Superior (if you buy those with merits, instead of just buying them Superior for over 20-25M Inf each).

Superior Winter IOs are bucketed with the regular versions as well. So ATOs are the only thing it's worthwhile to manually catalyze.

  10. I skip the same powers in plant. I had the sleep power leveling but it was pretty well useless as things would immediately be awoken by creepers, fly trap, confused enemies or fiery orb (orb was probably what aggroed the second mob anyway). I find vines is plenty for an emergency power.

Creepers is the best power in the set, which in a set that has seeds of confusion is really saying something. With a crazy recharge build mine's at 136 second recharge with no recharge in the power itself for proccing purposes. It's close enough to perma since seeds is such fast recharge and you have other tools for the time it's down. I can't emphasize enough how amazing creepers is with procs.

As to earth, someone else will have to take that one.

  11. I kinda assumed the lowbies in question were alts, but J.B.'s more charitable than I about people's being charitable.

If you do the unslotter thing you're now on the hook for whatever the unslotter costs and the catalyst cost. Even if you have a pile of catalysts bigger than the total number you'll need for ATOs for every future alt, you're still better off not using them for anything else. If you have a surplus sell them for 3 million or whatever, sell the level 50, rebuy it attuned. Even with auction fees there are no IOs that cost enough that you won't be better off that way (unless you lowball yourself into too big of a discrepancy on a winter IO).

I have a fairly large stockpile of catalysts.  I keep getting level 50 drops that I'd like to attune and pass on to lowbies to slot.  How do you attune a set IO without slotting it?

you don't. sell the drops, buy attuned, sell the catalysts, profit.

  13. There is always the option to just leave it. Please. I'll beg if necessary. I wasn't aware it was an 'exploit' but it seems like it could just fit in nicely with all the other QoL improvements HC has brought. If nothing else it's made ouro avoidable and it was really getting intolerable with all the bc/local trial spam and the portal blocking (seriously people go form trials in DA, people can street sweep while they wait for them to fill.). It's fantastic on TFs too. And let's face it, Master of Badges were already rendered a complete joke by incarnate powers. That just leaves pvp, and if you actually feel better about yourself for not losing because you zipped away before your last hit point was gone you have issues.

And re the actual base porters - the long interrupt time combined with them being interrupted by anyone opening an ouro portal within half a zone or a rularuu flapping its wings in another dimension rendered them pretty much trash as it is. Rare are the cases where you can't just run to a base portal before those actually work.

  14. yes, so long as you have access to the power the proc will work. note that this only applies to procs proper - many of the IOs we call procs out of habit are actually globals which function like set bonuses and with those the level does matter. when in doubt check the wiki, but in general the ones that add a chance to damage or hold or something like that will work so long as you have access to the power.

  15. I dig my stj/ice. It's fun. I have no idea how optimal it is, nor do i care. I dig my elec/shield - I've had an elec/shield of every possible AT (tank/brute on live, scrap here) and finally landed on the one i like. Neither has moonbeam, neither has crosspunch, shield one doesn't have spring attack. I don't care. Could probably have worked in spring but I'd rather have the DDR from grant cover.

You know, the LFG queue teleporter can get you out of PVP zones, too...

(I've heard that devs have said the enter base from passcode command wasn't actually intended to be used by players, and it will sooner or later be disabled for everybody except GMs.)

Noooooo, I'm too attached. and i only found out about it this week. It's allowed me to stay out of the wretched hive of scum and villainy ouro has turned into.

But re OP yeah it does seem like it should be disabled for pvp. Though not being a pvp'er i can't imagine why someone would feel better about getting almost killed and zapping away than just getting killed.

Ixve been following this post but not sure what type of stalker if the best for this solo TF. Can some post a build for stalker that they would recommend for this merits mining TF? Thank you

For Sister P? I'd think /energy would be a good choice assuming you attune enough of your defense bonuses to be s/l/energy softcapped. but really any stalker could blast through this, that'd just be if you were wanting to run it x8 and/or +level.
