  1. Dammit. Now I need Mini Mode on one other character. Coin-Operative demands it! Also, is it too much to ask that my character's own profile be an emblem I can use? Huh?? ((I am aware that it is, indeed, too much to ask.))
  2. I've actually been using @shadowrex's build for my own Superman though I came to the no need for Hasten and adding Maneuvers independently before the second build was posted. I feel like it is serviceable for the vast majority content (on paper: He's only level 20 and not all Sets are bought yet) but what @tidge and @PLVRIZR said gave me some pause. So it I were to do a second build exclusively for certain tough enemies like Lord Recluse and the Crimson Prototype, do you have recommendations on where to pull slots from to 6-slot Dull Pain and (presumably) 2-slot Hasten? Cross Punch, maybe some slots from Weave and Invincibility seem like possibilities. Any advice?
  3. On another character, I started what is meant to be just a small apartment-style base as a kind of tutorial and I have been looking at Dacy's videos but it is really slow going. Like I said, whatever gene there is that allows you to enjoy it, I lack it. To me, it feels like pulling teeth. But I intend to keep trying. Maybe a switch will get thrown in my head.
  4. One thank you is in the reactions! Here's two more: Thank you, Thank you! Unfortunately, I want the base under the name of an existing SG. A buddy of mine started it and even though he faded, I wanted to take a run at the SG in his absence - actually build his missing character's absence into our mythos - and try to recruit from there. I am thinking that having a fun, functional base semi-up and running from the start would be best as I don't want to place the burden on a new member and I am hopeless at it.
  5. I'd give you three Thank Yous if you can tell me if what I'm looking for is at all doable. I know enough about base building to know it would probably mean building some kind of fake skyline from stuff and there probably isn't a way to do that on four sides but even two sides would probably make it a little labor intensive.
  6. I know that there has been discussion on the forums about it and I've seen at least one base builder who makes amazing bases and then "sells" it and the SG for influence with bidding usually starting at 500,000,000 influence so I don't know how much it actually ends up costing or how common it is or even if it is common at all.
  7. I have blocked out so much of Roger Moore's Bond...
  8. Oooooooh...this is pretty cool. I may use some of this if he ever does/has a straight up Vampyri look. Thank you!
  9. I kept the character but dropped the name Brass Jaw. It's kind of punny but never really worked for the character of a steampunk robot butler.
  10. I promise that I just need the Mini Mode on one more character and then I will sell Prismatic Aether like a normal person:
  11. "Gone right" from his warped perspective in that he is much more powerful than typical Vampyri (or will be when I level and slot him up) and has free will, etc. Under the mask, I figure is a Vampyri-isque but more hideous. It would be "gone wrong" from a sane person's sensibilities. 🙂
  12. I have to imagine someone has but maybe not. I have mixed feelings about posting suggestions as it just feels like few ever come to fruition and I totally get the an all-volunteer GM crew has limited time and resources to make things for the game so they need to prioritize. They seem to want to put most focus on making new content and as someone who generally feels like a lot of the game has boiled down to doing the same 5-6 things to level, something new is appreciated. I can't speak for anyone else but if they were to spreadsheet all the costume, weapon, and aura suggestions and do an entire Page devoted to doing as many of the most requested things as they could, I would love it. Costumes are content too and I would love to see new additions plus some upgrades to some of the things that are particularly showing their age. However, it is my understanding that there may only be one 3D artist available and that is bound to bottleneck things. Understandable.
  13. Hey, thanks for replying! No wrong way taken! In the original interpretation, I was trying to reflect some Council/5th Column origins but as I thought about it more, I figured this character would consider himself superior to his fellow research subjects and would probably separate his costumes from his origins so before I saw this response, I got even more colorful! Speaking to color, I tend to lean more towards 4-color Silver-Age inspired color pallets - a lot of deep reds, purples, greens for villains, etc. So I'm not too worried about the name reflecting that much in the costume as the name is more a reflection of his powers - Dark Melee. After seeing this, I did log on and take your advice and darken the new colors I used and it is much better. I'm liking him him a lot more now. Eyes. Again, I've not getting notifications on my replies so before I saw this, I switched from Beastly Rages eyes to Volcanic. They kind of alternate which gives him a slightly crazed look. I had tried Glow first - it is practically a default when I do glowing eye guys - but I didn't like it on him. I tried asymmetries with the gloves but I didn't like them either. I really wish we had asymmetrical aura and/or power choices - one fist taking on a dark glow in combat would be cool and has great comic book precedent. I'll try to post up some screenies in a bit. I appreciate the input and may do a shades of gray costume for a stealth look. You made a ton of good points but for a main look, I just like a little more pop in general.
  14. Wow. I did not get a single notification this was responded to at all. Thanks for taking the time, everyone. Notifications are on so I don’t know what happened… I am definitely trying to remember and get into the habit of doing it on my alts. I was so thankful that someone leading an MSR shouted a reminder the other day. If the GMs said adding it to Options wasn’t possible, that’s that. If not an Option screen option, how about a slash command to check the status? In a game that actively encourages altitis, being able to check the status without making a trip would be nice. I made the run on an old 50 the other day only to find it was already off.
  15. Did anyone run with this costume because it not, I may tweek it a little for my character Yuckster. Overdue for a re-roll and this is both yucky and funny!
  16. I've had this name (it means Shadowfist in German) for a bit and always figured he was a product of the Council's Vampyri super soldier program gone right but I struggled with coming up with a costume I liked. This one has hit about the closet but not 100% sold so I thought I'd seek some input. The green gloves are a homage to the Vampyri and I can't decide if I love them or hate them. The colors are off in the animated gif and his eyes strobe much slower...I just suck at making animated gifs. Thoughts?
  17. After a break, I've been on no less that 5-6 teams or leagues recently where tension about Group Fly has gotten heated while I just listened to the back and forth. I do, honestly, see both sides of things - I have it on a few Masterminds myself. What seems to be different in Homecoming's reemergence compared to Live is that I can't imagine not turning it off if someone asked me to do so but since the return of the game, I've seen people refuse or leave teams rather than do so. I've seen it several times just this past week. I get it. We have an option to turn it off and we should all visit Null the Gull with each and every alt to make sure we're not affected if we don't want to be. I have to admit, though, it frequently slips my mind (I don't seem to be alone) and by the time I encounter it in the higher level content, it usually isn't convenient to pop over for the fix. I don't haunt the D with most characters so I generally don't even have it as an option on the teleporter and when you have to explain to the team or league why you are leaving the zone (or risk being kicked), it usually just starts up the discussion. I have just vaguely said I have something to do real quick - but even then folks see where you went and guess and it starts the debate up anyway. Could this be something added to our Options at this point? It'd be a lot easier to recall if you've taken care of it on a given alt and while I've not run into it personally, I can imagine scenarios where you might want it off 95% of the time but having a way to turn it back on on the spot for a given mission or situation may be of value. Given that people want to use it, that there is no flag to remind you if you've taken care of it on a given character until you are in the thick of it, and that it does affect movement and some powers, being able to pull it up on a tab in Options seems the better, well, option if it is at all possible.
  18. Hopped on a Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force sometime after 10 AM Pacific Time Monday morning on a Level 50 I'd just gotten there the night before. Character was trained to 50 and I was earning Incarnate xp throughout the SF. At the end, I got the extra merits and presumably the bonus xp nut no Notice or Prismatic Aether Particle. I ran on another character last night and all was well though someone on the team said they didn't get their Notice either - also Level 50. Support said there wasn't anything they could do but suggested I post here so I'm doing that. Cheers.
  19. Hey all! Back from a bit of a break and did a little clean-up. Released these to the wild: Airfoil Disabler Dissembler Dream Agent Hellbot Holy Shroud Keycard Mistress Mask Serious Shopper Supra Cop -> mine was a Supra Troll turned cop but it didn't grow on me Tedium Uni-Man Nothing spectacular but maybe there is something there that will work for you! Have fun!
  20. The new issue page looks cool and fun and I appreciate all the hard work that the Homecoming team does but I’m practically a boomer and don’t take care of myself so I need to see 4 things in this game before I shuffle off to the load screen in the sky. 1. A Greco-Roman Spear for a staff. Yes, I know you don’t really fight with spears like that but I don’t care. Gimme that spear. 2. Reichman’s pants. Colorable. For all body types. 3. A customizable "panicked run" like the NPCs do when they are frightened so I can make someone of my characters run around with their arms flailing around like idiots. 4. Those other travel powers that were conceptualized but not made. Which maybe actually be like 10 other things, really.
  21. I have at least three characters where getting this costume choice will be a priority and will always be on.
  22. I released some of these and found some of these: Airwing Black Ax Cosmic Cruller High Summer Key Note Lycantherapist Lycantherapy Skyman Singsong Spring Break Wikipedia Brown Winged Victory
  23. Well, I wouldn't be in favor of too short an inactive time for situations like that. Even so, most active duty members of the military on deployment can still probably manage a yearly login if the game still holds interest for them. I'm thinking more about the folks who played for a few months at launch and then never returned.
  24. My memory may be faulty on this but when name purges were discussed back on Live, characters of X level and above were generally safe and it was only low-level characters that might lose their name. The idea was to free up squatted names on inactive accounts but not changing the name of a Level 50 in case that player returns to the game someday. I think I also recall the mechanism being discussed was such that the name was only generic’d if or when someone chose that name in the character creator for a new character. Otherwise, the name stood as is. I don’t think this ever happened. As I am sure thousands of names were squatted when HC began by players who have long since moved on, I think mass purging squatted names is reasonable but the kind of targeted name purging you describe is probably beyond the time constraints of an all-volunteer GM squad. You generally can’t get a timely reply on a bugged mission or TF (not complaining - I know resources are limited). I think having those precious few GMs available to help individual players get individual names isn’t a great use of resources. As an aside, I’m trying to be more considerate when someone reaches out to me on a name but as altitis is built in to this game, I’m generally not responsive if someone is trying to shame me for keeping a name on a Level 50 that isn’t my “main.” I don’t have a main. I love them all and I’m unlikely to give up the name of a Level 50. If I get asked about a sub-50 though, I try to consider the likelihood that of my playing them soon and how attached I am, etc. I really need to do a clean-up soon.
