  1. Many badges do indeed have progress bars. So you can undock the badge window, scroll the badge you're interested in to the middle, and keep an eye on it that way. Doesn't help if you'd like to track multiple badges that don't happen to fall near each other on the lists in the badge window. For some sorts of badges, having a counter up at all times like that would be real handy for taking advantage of the opportune moment when it happens. As for the time required to implement, perhaps a polite query to the Ourodev folks would speed the process up considerably. Sharing IS kinda their thing as I understand it.
  2. I have no idea how practical this is to implement or enable, but I've seen it working on Rebirth, and /windownames lists badgemonitor as one of the possible windows here. It works similarly to the combat attributes monitor, but allows you to select any in-progress badge(s) using a right-click context menu and display a compressed version of the same progress information you get by hovering over the badge in the regular displays (see attached screen snip). Looks like a handy bit of functionality, and hopefully whoever figured it out is willing to share.
  3. It's that time of year again. The ghoulies and zombies and assorted critters of the undead variety are once again crawling from their graves to cause problems. So it's time for some rolling Halloween Event Leagues again. As always, I'm just updating the ongoing thread. (yeah, it's a necro, I'm conserving bits, there could be a shortage. Besides, it amuses me to have a necro post for the Halloween event.) I'm available 10/8 starting roughly 21:00 EST / 01:00 UTC / 02:00 CET and will be advertising in LFG and trying to organize Deadly Apocalypse, Zombie Apocalypse, Halloween Giant Monsters, Dr Kane's House of Horrors, and/or Trick or Treating as events are available. For ths first evening I'm going to probably concentrate on Deadly Apocalypse, since there appear to be a lot of new players around who need to be shown the ropes for this one admittedly a bit confusing setup. Will advertise in LFG as regularly as I remember. Come one, come all, and get those Halloween badges. Which reminds me, I need to read up on the new one.
  4. I already had an Alienware back when that worked, and it was VERY handy. You could set it up so your lighting matched the color of your hitpoint bar, and started a low-key flash/throbbing when you got really low. I forget what else you could do with it, but that was the one that really worked well. You might scrapperlock and miss that your hitpoints were dropping, but it was a lot less likely when the keyboard started turning dire red and doing a heartbeat on you. I keep hoping somebody will look at that functionality and try to bring it into the modern era, it definitely worked well.
  5. I've been seeing something consistent with client crashes involving the market, and am able to reproduce the crash at will now. I've submitted several minidumps and described what I'm seeing. The crash seems to be caused not directly by anything you're doing in-game, but other processes you may have running at the same time. I first noticed it when I updated to the latest and greatest MIDS Reborn and had it open on the screen beside where I run CoH. I got 3 or 4 crashes in a row when trying to claim auction wins from the market. Closed MIDS Reborn, and the crashes stopped; I messed around in the market for hours and hours over the next several days without a crash. I've also seen the same sort of crashes happen when I had a second instance of CoH running in background by mistake. Found that out the other day when I minimized a window at the character select screen to go get lunch, and forgot it was running when I came back. I've no idea what it means, but it seems to be consistent. I can market to my heart's content with a browser or my security camera viewer or Messenger running on another screen, but fire up MIDS Reborn and pretty much a guaranteed crash within an attempt or two when I try to claim stuff from the auction. See if that information helps; most of us don't immediately think of interference from another app being the culprit any more. I may still be wrong, and it's entirely possible that only my particular combination of drivers & hardware has this issue, but I'm convinced enough at this point I won't fire up MIDS Reborn if I am logged in.
  6. Striga certainly worked at one point, I have several heroes who got their mortician badge there. Haven't tried it recently though.
  7. Ok, now THAT is weird. I've been parked in a shop and not seen anything like that. Sounds like I need to move to Wentworth's. (lol)
  8. As discussed in this thread - Suggest that you look into lowering this interval slightly, so that people logging in on a semi-regular schedule do not think Entrepreneur is broken and actually get tickets more or less daily rather than only when they miss playing for a few days. As it currently works, since you (apparently) have to be logged off for 24 consecutive hours for a discount ticket to be awarded, if you log on every day you will see none. Which ironically makes a regular schedule for crafting and marketing a huge disadvantage and prone to mild confusion. Even better would be to not discard fractional credit toward the next ticket, but that would require tracking a value with a variable persisting somehow between logins and all that.
  9. I'll drop that idea into suggestions, and link back here rather than repeat the reasoning and discussion. I thought for quite some while that Entrepreneur was not working at all. Was not until I got some less played alts through that pair of day jobs I realized what must be happening. As you note, even lowering the interval by a few hours would make quite a difference in how often the discount tokens get awarded. Thanks. for the confirmation.
  10. The question is, though, if I am logged off for 23 hours, then log in, do I lose that 23 hours progress? So far as I can tell that is how it is working. If I log in every day, I get no tickets at all so far as I can tell. That does not seem to be how any of the other day job accolades work, though admittedly it is hard to tell since the rest of them are much shorter intervals. Entirely possible that EVERYTHING only awards in full units and discards any fractions.
  11. (reserved for Role of Honor - grantees who have been helped by the program)
  12. (reserved for accounting) Initial endowment - 100 million influence 11/3/2019
  13. Without going into all the details of his background, my "main" Bladesnow here on Reunion includes training other superheroes (and others) as part of his bio / background. Anyone curious enough can read his bio; available either in-game or on the City Info Tracker link in my sig. (lol) As something of an exercise in roleplaying, as well as a way to give back to the community, I am endowing a grant program to be administered openly here on the forum. Initial endowment will be 100 million, and I'll keep the accounting in the first reply here. Applicants may request up to 20 million influence right here in this thread. Simply post a reply to this thread explaining anything you wish to tell the world about your character and why they deserve this kind of help. Keeping in mind, of course, that whatever tale you spin people can feel free to comment upon or react to. Preferably in character, but I am not hardcore about that. Nor do I promise not to write a story about the Mason Institute's consideration of your application should the inspiration strike me. Terms are very simple - I would like you to pay it back if you ever can. I would also request (though this is not a requirement) that you mention getting training, funding, or help from the Mason Institute, or one of the Mason Martial Arts Academies, or the superhero Bladesnow in your bio. (You HAVE written a bio, right?) And, no, I won't be checking up on this, but I will be pretty tickled if I happen to meet someone who has a mention of help or training from him in their bio. (You DO read other people's bios when you meet them, right?) If you want to pay back more than you were granted, that will directly increase the endowment. Until the funds are paid back, there will be that much less to help anyone else. If as I expect the fund grows over time from grateful supers "paying it forward", I will quite likely increase the endowment. The only penalty for not repaying is that I'll post the character name who received a grant and the date the funds were sent out to them in that "accounting" reply. That entry will remain there for all the world to see until / if the funds are repaid. Another reserved reply will note supers helped by the Fund, and I will tactfully refrain from putting any dates in that one. You simply won't get listed on the Mason Grantees role of honor until you return the funds, if you ever do. If others wish to be contributors, probably the simplest way to handle that is to just administer any funds you want to earmark right here in the same style. Or start your own fund named after YOUR character. I would really rather not end up administering other people's influence, other than contributions from grateful supers who "pay it forward". Which says, I guess, that you could be sneaky and apply for a grant, then pay it back immediately with whatever contribution you want to make. Completely circumventing my preference not to take on the responsibility and have to fill out all the required paperwork and all. Probably best if you keep global names in a private message, though that's entirely your call. I do not intend to "publish" mine here, though of course anyone I send out a grant to will see one.
  14. Yeah, I don't mind the 24 hour span to get another discount ticket. But it DOES seem inconsistent that it has to be 24 hours CONSECUTIVE logged off, and the counter resets when you do log in no matter how close you are. I may be wrong, but it does not appear that the other accolade powers work that way. Nor does the cumulative time for badges like Pocket D VIP have to be done in one unbroken span. What I've been doing as a work-around is log off alts in the shop and let them sit for several days at a time. You can't move the tickets around, but you CAN hand off crafting of expensive set IOs that you can't get a discount any other way to someone who has accumulated a lot of tickets. I just wish this accolade worked like most other things in CoH seem to, and credited you for the cumulative time and not discard any progress when you log in before completion.
  15. I do not know the exact details of how long it is supposed to take a crafting discount ticket from the day job accolade badge Entrepreneur to appear in your inventory. I have successfully gotten them on multiple characters. Nearly every character I've created, as it happens. My main crafting character I've been parking in a shop now for about 2 weeks at the end of every login. He has accumulated 3. Difficult to say for certain, but what I think MAY be happening is the system is only awarding a discount ticket if I do not log in for the entire period it is supposed to take to grant one. Since I log into this character every day, sometimes more than once, he is getting one only occasionally. If I am right that is what's happening, that behavior is unlike any other dayjob accolade power I am aware of. No way for me to tell with the limited information available to a player, but it almost looks like all progress toward the next discount ticket is discarded each time I log on or something. So far as I can tell without keeping more records, the only reason I ever get any is that occasionally I am busy enough in real life not to log in for an entire day. That's of course more likely on some of my alts I do not play as often. In any case, the production rate of these discount tickets is nearly non-existent unless I park a character in the shop and just let them sit for a week or so at a time without logging into that hero. I very much doubt this is working as intended, just wanted to point out to the developer team what I've observed so they can add it to their copious list of things to test.
  16. Rather than starting a new topic, I'll just update the date in the title. I'll be around this coming Thursday 10/10 and run another ongoing Halloween event league (blue side) starting about 20:00 (8 PM) EST / 00:00 UTC / 02:00 (2 AM) CEST. We'll hit any Deadly Apocalypse, Zombie Apocalypse, Halloween Giant Monsters, Dr Kane's House of Horrors, and/or Trick or Treating as events are available. Will advertise in LFG as regularly as I remember. Come one, come all, and get those Halloween badges.
  17. Many thanks to all the heroes (and a few villains) who joined us in saving Paragon City from Halloween. I probably will not be around much of the weekend of 10/4, but I will try to run a few more rolling leagues like this while the event is live. And, of course, I encourage others to do the same, so my lower level alts can get in on the fun. (grin) People seemed to have a good time, and we fought off lots of zombies, dead apocalyptii, and ran Jack and Eochai off any time we saw them.
  18. Ran this tonight 10/2/19, and it seemed to both work well and be appreciated by participants. SO we'll do it again. Starting at approximately 20:00 (8 PM) EST / 00:00 UTC / 02:00 (2 AM) CEST (and I'll let you work out the other conversions from there), I'll periodically advertise in LFG for a rolling Halloween event team. We'll be hitting any Deadly Apocalypse or Zombie Apocalypse we can. Between horrific battles to prevent the end of the world, we'll look for Jack and Eochai and Trick or Treat to pass the time. Come one, come all, stay as long as you like. Tonight we managed to keep it going for around 3 hours, and successfully stopped so many Apocalyptic events and giant monsters I quite lost track.
  19. Pretty much. I tend to get it by mentoring, then never use it because it takes too long to both use and recharge. Or wait, that's assemble the team. Base teleporter is from the Rapid Response member accolade. But anyway...
  20. Protector was my home server for many years. Main was Bladesnow, with way too many alts. Hmmn, I should put my CIT page in my sig. In the meantime... https://cit.cohtitan.com/profile/3066 - Now playing on Reunion.
  21. The most desirable feature of the current "enterbasefrompasscode" to my mind is the capability to return to the exact spot you teleported away from. I am unaware of any other generally available teleport which allows you to "mark" a spot and return to it later. I understand the developer's objection to the uninterruptible instant effect the slash command allows, but I *do* hope they see why people like it so much. As others have noted, it allows you to build "custom" teleports to go to multiple different specific bases. Hopefully whatever you come up with eventually will offer similar functionality in a fashion which you see as maintaining the ever elusive and usually illusionary notion of "balance". (shrug)
  22. It is possible I am just misunderstanding what is supposed to happen. But I've earned both Day Trader and Shop Keeper to get the Entrepreneur accolade. So far as I can tell I'm not getting invention discount tokens. I asked about it in in-game help, and confirmed that I should expect to see them in my salvage inventory. I can see the awards for both Day Trader and Shop Keeper accumulating, but nothing from Entrepreneur.
