From the Horus wiki page: "In the final battle with the 5th Column and Requiem, Horus and War Witch did not survive. War Witch's final act was to bring the Kheldian within Horus' body as well as the survivor Apex into the covenspace for the last time. There was nothing left of Horus - only the Kheldian remained, who left on a new mission to awaken the other sleeping Kheldians, but not before leaving Apex with a promise that they would some day meet again. " I'd love to see the Kheldian "Horus" return. He'd make a great Paul Revere to come rolling in saying "The Battlion are coming, the Batallion are coming!" as the way to kick off getting the Coming Storm going.

I'm beginning to wonder if folks are bringing back ancient threads just to mess with Greycat...😶....😏....hmmm. On topic, I love gold side as a litmus test for builds. It's like New York: if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

As others have said, definitely ask questions. I've played this game from the beta waaaay back on through today with some months taken off from time to time. I still don't know what people are talking about sometimes. The acronyms, oh the acronyms. For the longest time, I thought the Miss Liberty Task Force was someone talking about MILFs in the looking for group chat. I ask questions, especially on things that I know the team will be depending on me for. Most will be more than happy to help and the ones that don't...find a better team. Also, for a ranged character, be careful about just "hanging out in the back"...ambushes love stragglers. <cough>Positron part 1<cough> The Help channel can be a place to hit up for, well, help. On the chat window, you'll see tabs labeled things like "combat" or "local". These are customizable all the way down to their titles. Right click on and select "new tab". Label it Help and only select the Help channel. Bingo bango, you've got a channel you can hit solely for help that won't clutter up any of your other channels.

Like most things, the influx has been a double edged sword for me. I've had interactions with people who've never played the game before and I've given advice, influence and teamed with them some to help them along. Then, on the other hand, one time I had a person spamming LFG asking for help with something and being ignored. I sent them a /tell and helped them with the issue...and found a new shadow. Like Fatal Attraction kinda shadow. Constant /tells...I mean, constant. I even asked if they could take their questions to the Help channel and told them how to use that. More /tells. At one point, I got "hey, I just joined your guild!" I didn't know people could randomly join your SG?!?! I kicked them and /ignored them, but it definitely weirded me out. A needle in the haystack to be sure and it doesn't stop me from helping still, but there are some rather interesting folks out there.

What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?

That's what I ended up doing. A pipe dream, I guess. -

Not sure how "small" this would be, but I made a new villain today and as I ran through Breakout I kept wondering (as I have since COV launched) why WE are in our full super suit while everyone else is in prison orange. So, my request would be that we make our villain and launch in, fade in and we're in a prison uniform. Skin options stay, anything above the head stays, but from the neck down it's prison attire until we hit Mercy. Then, our full super suit would show. -

Slot Machine's Random Challenge (the limited edition 2023)
Skyhawke replied to Troo's topic in General Discussion
Hit 32 this morning. It was a ride of mapserver runs, gm fights, running through the sewers once and some radio missions. Of the power choices, I'll say Fire blast is a no brainer, but not so sure about Ninja Training. Didn't mesh well for me. -
Slot Machine's Random Challenge (the limited edition 2023)

Jumping into this and got these rolls 9-Blaster 54-Fire 70-Ninja 45-Defender 93-Traps 63-Ice 85-Stalker 99-Street Justice 33-Fire Aura Taking the Blaster build and to further the randomness, I used a 1-5 number picker for origin, hit random on the costume generator and used a superhero name generator online and took the first name (that wasn't already taken). It...was interesting. -
So imagine our Devs decided to go for CoH 2...
Skyhawke replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
I'll echo a boost to graphics, QoL stuff and more diversification of what powers can do/look like. COH is hamstrung by the old engine, but it does a lot of stuff that's still cool to this day. An open world (shhh, gimme a sec) instead of walled off sections. The kicker is using some Bethesda magic (again, shhh) and have it so only a certain radius of the world is actually generated around you at any given moment. Kinda like a zone that travels with you all the time. You don't "zone" into a different area, at least not noticeably. -

The powerset you'd love, but you know will never be implemented
Skyhawke replied to SteelR4t's topic in General Discussion
Tesseract/Worm Hole power set. Something along the lines of a hybrid melee/ranged thing. That guy across the room? Punch through a worm hole and have it pop out next to his head. Surrounded? Punch forward and make it pop out in multiple holes around you. Click a power and you get a target reticle on the floor that you can move to a group of enemies, then you stomp the floor and your stomp goes through the floor and come out at the target area, doing damage and knockup. -

I turn particle effects off, target a Masterminds pet and set a ranged attack to auto and aim the camera at the floor. Then, if anything comes near me, it gets hit with the non autoed powers. The insanity of a MSR lightshow is a bit much to watch.

I feel my age (49) every time I miss out on a TF or something because instead of typing "tf plz", I send someone a missive from the front...single spaced.

Probably having Orenbaga underneath kept the superstitious folks of the time off the area. What I really want to know is how crazy/brave were Paragon's founders? They rolled up, saw wizards and monsters and said "Yep, this is where we'll put the General Store."

Aaaand April 28th is a Friday. Who doesn't like celebrating on a Friday?

I've been away from the game for a bit, but recently started playing again and when I swung by Blue Steel, I noticed something on the big coin we've all seen a thousand times. Paragon CIty was established in 1823. Soooo, this year would be it's bicentennial, right? Kinda cool.
