Per one of our pinned posts, you need Microsoft's Visual C++ 2015 Runtime to get the game running. You can install said runtime using this link.
-
I believe this falls under similar issues as some other costume parts, though in the meantime there is a workaround: locking the colour theme across all different pieces, and then unlocking it to alter the others.
-
There's a few costume pieces like that. Generally the workaround for them is to enable linked costume colours, which should allow such colours to be set indirectly in the meantime. Hope this helps!
-
Could you take a screenshot of the issue that you're having?

Welcome! Per our FAQ:

It's Artillery in the latest (and one prior) version. Not sure what @Derek Icelord is referring to. Also, what is the "built-in" freebies menu? Is that the one I'm editing or something else?
QuoteBETA ONLY: Freebies Menu
- @GM NobleKangaroo's freebies menu is now built into the beta client and can be easily accessed from the quickchat menu:

As said in our FAQ:

Welcome! And from our FAQ:
QuoteWhich shard should I play on?
If you are in Europe, we highly recommend you play on Reunion as it’s physically located in Germany - the rest of the shards are in Canada.
If you’re into roleplaying we recommend you take up residence on Everlasting (the unofficial RP shard), and if you’re into PvP you should try your luck on Indomitable (the unofficial PvP shard). Alternatively, Torchbearer and Excelsior are the busiest shards and have a wide range of players on them.
Can I transfer my characters between shards?
Yes! You can transfer your characters between shards at any time, up to a maximum of 5 transfers every 3 days. -

Looks like the Spectrum gloves and boots are not in the split features yet.

Now that the back-end costume changes have receiving enough stability testing, we're happy to bring you some long-awaited updates to the costume editor!
- Please give these updates a thorough test and let us know if anything looks out of place!
- Auras have been separated into two slots: Auras and Path Auras
- Boots and gloves now have an asymmetrical toggle, which can be toggled off to allow separate left and right glove and boot selection
-
Not every set of gloves and boots are available in asymmetrical mode - some have been intentionally omitted, please do not report these as bugs
- More pieces will be added as they pass internal testing and QA
- All sets of gloves and boots remain available in symmetrical mode

I would love to see a hard cap on prices. This would be easily enforced by the simplest of methods. Have a Dev have a billion yellows at X value. Maybe 10k or 5 k or w/e. People can play the market and buy sell. But a soon as you try to corner the market you hit an i finite wall
this would stop market abuse from going to stupid levels from bots and griefers. Same could be done with each class of recipe so nothing could get oddly out of bounds
Salvage is seeded like so:
- 10,000 for Common salvage
- 100,000 for Uncommon salvage
- 1,000,000 for Rare salvage
- 50,000 for Brainstorm Idea
Hence the large amount of salvage on sale in the first place.

No, I believe that was the natural themed pool power. Willpower is usually associated with natural origin.
Sorcery = Magic Origin
Experimentation = Science Origin
Force of Will = Mutation Origin
Gadgetry = Technology Origin
Utility Belt = Natural Origin

New Support Powerset: Shock Therapy (Feedback Thread)
"You are able to control and manipulate electricity to aid your allies and weaken your enemies. Some Shock Therapy powers build Static, which increases the number of targets your Circuit powers can chain to. Others consume Static to increase their effectiveness while also restoring a small amount of your health and endurance."
- A shocking new support powerset brought to you by @Cipher, @Jimmy, @GuyPerfect and our resident powers guru @Captain Powerhouse.
- The set has been built around chaining powers and a stacking / combo system that's similar to those found in many of the more modern melee and ranged damage sets, with a focus on wide variety of buffs for the whole team as well as damage and endurance debuffs for your enemies.
- Shock Therapy also introduces and makes use of a brand new mechanic which allows powers to dynamically change the number of targets they can hit - in this case, the four Circuit powers hit more targets for every stack of Static that you currently have.
- The set is currently available only as a Defender Primary. It will be ported to other support ATs after testing and feedback.

Might I request a small QoL feature?
I sometimes play my Sonic/Sonic Defender but I'm hesitant to use my favorite power because of the constant sound it makes. It's the Sonic Repulsion toggle power, slotting it with a KB to KD IO makes for an extremely useful ability BUT the constant sound has had an impact in me being just kicked from teams instead of asking me not to use it.
Is there a way to lessen the sound or reduce the constant wailing of the effect?
Also, if you've been on a team with "Sound of Color" I apologize for the annoying sound.Feel free to create a new thread in the Suggestions & Feedback forum, or contribute to an existing one that supports your own.

The tanker updates took a couple of months to go live last time, will this be the case with this to be implemented? Not going to lie I love playing a tanker and love shield...a shield/dark has me really interested and wanting to come back and play. What kinda eta are we talking about?
In regards to why the Tanker changes took that long, this post is relevant.

Everything should be preserved during a character transfer except for your supergroup membership, as they are shard-bound.

Ensure that you're using your game account details rather than your forum account details. If you haven't made a game account yet, you can do so here.

As per the Tequila Guide & FAQ, it is a false positive - antiviruses tend to mark any program that downloads files as dangerous, even if, in Tequila's case, it's just to retrieve the game files needed to play City of Heroes.
-
As per the most recent patch notes in beta, there's been some behind-the-scenes changes designed for the costume editor - I imagine that's what is causing the costume load issues from Beta.
It might be a good idea to file that under a separate bug post, since these power customisation issues seem to have been around before said patch.

Alright, that's good. I'm not too familiar with Lutris, but there ought to be a way to use Winetricks with it. Once that's figured out, things should probably run fairly smoothly. This may also be a good resource for you, to make sure you have everything you need to get Wine running properly. Since your Linux distribution is Pop!_OS, it's Ubuntu derived, you'll find the steps there the most helpful.
-
If you're running Lutris, I assume you attempted to install the game using a Lutris script? It may be somewhat outdated. I recall creating an experimental one, but I can't guarantee that it'll run as expected.
-
To confirm, have you made sure to install the required files to get Tequila (and CoH) working via Winetricks? That is to say:
- dotnet35sp1
- vcrun2015 (not needed if Wine is the latest version)
Speaking of which, the output of wine --version would be useful as well, along with your Linux distribution.

Generally shifting the base portal around, sometimes slightly above the floor, and making sure that it's away from any walls will help unstick your characters upon entry. Hope this helps!
