I can run the game on ultra with zero hiccups on live.. I just logged into the Beta server and even on minimum... frames are horrendous. Has anyone encountered this, and is there a remedy?
-
I’m inspired to make a Super Reflexes/Super Strength Tanker now with this in mind! Maybe it’ll be a convenient excuse to finally make a SS character on Homecoming!
-
You’re welcome! Let me know if you have any questions. There’s a lot of helpful people around these parts. Cheers bud! 🍺

I have not built or tested it yet. But I’ve played this game since 2005. I don’t even want to know how many hours... I’ve spent the last month playing my Fiery Aura/Energy Melee Tank. So even having not tested it, I can say in confidence it would be pretty good! Especially for incarnate content. Why do you ask?
-
Weird question.. But how are you getting literal screenshots of your screens? When I use my own methods, it does not show my trays, maps, any game info whatsoever. Just a crystal clear image of whatever is before me. What am I doing wrong here?

It's also a 2 for 1 special going on this morning. So I made a "farm" build too if you really wanted to go that route. 😁 So here's the "farming" build, incorporating more AoE from the Mu epic. I haven't played a weapons character since my Titan/Bio, so maybe I am mistaken with redraw. Either way, here's the build! Alright, as promised. This is the direction I think I would go if I were to run a Radiation/War Mace Tanker for PvE. Slots and power picks were very tight. I would have liked to include more things into the buid.. And I maybe could if I play tested this extensively and came to the conclusion that some powers are not needed. But I have not tested it. You could maybe drop Jawbreaker, and slot Bash that way instead.. But your exemplared attack chain would really suffer. I'm also not entire sold on Gamma Boost... But again, I have not played Radiation Armor extensively. I have a Radiation/Dark Melee Tank at 50+1. But I do not play him, I even unslotted him... And I'm not sure why, because he would rock! Just to see if it was possible. While making the build Ranged and AoE were low 60's, Melee was the only one that was substantially higher. I kept playing around and realized that I wasn't sacrificing much to get all positions to 65% before Agility Alpha. There are only 3 sets in this build, outside of the unique +Def IOs, that have defense to Melee, Ranged, or AoE (Full set of Gaussians, 3 slotted BotZ and the full set of Gauntleted Fist . I'm sure I could fiddle around and get some better resists, while dropping my defense a bit to still stay above Incarnate level soft-cap. But the reasoning was just to see if I could do it and still show good results elsewhere. Is it overkill? Probably. I don't see the extra defense hurting anything. Could be a nice buffer for the content with extreme debuffs? Like I said, I haven't play tested this build. I know little about Super Reflexes, cannot give you a detailed run down on "why this" or "why that" like I can on my other builds I have spent countless hours on. I just felt 70% defense to Melee, Ranged and AoE was pretty dang respectable on top of the resists I managed to get before the sliding scale damage resistance comes into play.
-
I may have overexaggerated, I was thinking that because Mace is a weapon set, all of your AoE would mostly have to come from Mace to avoid redraw. So any Epics/Primary AoE would be a bit clunky. Mace actually has decent AoE. So maybe it would be only 50% slower on average. 4 minutes for Spines/Fire, 6-8 minutes for a Rad/WM Tank.
-
I have not made this pairing yet but I'll make you a build in the morning. I might add that while you "could" farm with this build.. It's not going to be that good at all. It would be great for regular content though! You could make a Spines/Fire or Radiation Melee/Fire Brute and save 100's and 100's of hours in farm time by using those two builds instead of this Tank. My Spines/Fire/Mu Brute can clear some of the most popular farm maps in 4 minutes, I'd wager that it would take a Radiation/War Mace Tank 10+ minutes even with the best build possible. So, I'll make you the build, But I could not recommend using it to farm. But you totally can if saving time is not a factor! edit: What kind of farming are you planning on doing?

Here's my Fiery Aura/Energy Melee Tanker who, while not nearly as sturdy (still nigh unkillable), is probably LOADS more fun, and makes Blasters envious of the burst damage he can dish out.

So... If you didn't already know. I friggin' LOVE Energy Melee. I have made incredibly OP builds with Energy Melee and every primary. Except Super Reflexes. Well, tonight I decided to take upon this task and... What the HECK did I just do? This isn't click bait. With only the Agility Alpha, you have over 70% defense to all positions ALL the time. Without the Agility Alpha, you sit at 65% to all positions. Easy enough, right? I must have gimped every other aspect to get these numbers, right? Oh no. Resists? No problem. Perma-hasten? Check. Regen? Pffft. I wish I could give you a more personal and detailed run down on the insanity that is this build.. But I have not built or played it like I have my Fire/Energy Tank, which I have a "guide" on the Tanker forums below this post. But I can confidently say that this build is insane. Just bonkers. I couldn't help but laugh once I finished this build and then looked at the numbers it achieved. Permanent 70% defense to all at level 50+ AND some pretty solid resists on top of nearly 100% DDR? Yeah... I don't even need to tell you how sturdy that is. So, I wanted to share it. In the hopes that maybe someone can get some inspiration to make other Super Reflexes builds this stupid. Or maybe, just to get some street cred. I wouldn't mind being dubbed an unofficial Energy Melee Guru (let's be real, it's ALWAYS about the street cred.) 😁 Anyways, here's the build! What you are referring to is the "soft-cap", 45% defense to any position or typed damage is the ideal starting point. Incarnate content, this jumps up to 59% defense. The cap is actually... 185% defense? I forget. But you can and should go much higher than 45% if you are wanting to be as safe as possible for Incarnate content.
-
Good to know, that saves me a slot then! edit: I think the first build I shared can be made superior than my second build simply by taking one of the procs from either Radiation Siphon or Iraddiated Ground and slotting only one Power Transfer proc.
-
Looks good! Tons of AoE. You might find that you have "too much" though, and you'll be sucking your endurance bar dry. This can be remedied by going Ageless, but then you miss out on either Barrier or Rebirth, both of which can help substantially in staying alive. But honestly, you might not need those. My Fire/Energy Tank is nigh unkillable, and people might argue that Fire Armor is mind of meh for survivability. That on top of constant Energy Transfers dealing 196 damage to myself every... 5 seconds or so. I still rarely go below half health. So with 50%+ defense to Melee, Ranged and AoE.. you could get by without.
-
I'll tag the proc rate master (one of them, anyways) in this response @Bopper. I cannot give you the % but I can tell you that it does work slightly different than a standard PBAoE damage aura. The patch it summons is a pseudo pet, and follows those rules iirc. You will often see the procs firing pretty consistently every time a new patch drops. My own personal experience tells me it is more frequent, or at least more consistent. Especially with the KD IO, my Rad/Fire Brute knocks baddies on their butts WAY more than my Fire/Energy Tank does with that same IO slotted in Blazing Aura. I've never actually tested it side by side though, this is purely based off my memory, which... Can be good or bad, depending.
-
I tooled around a little bit, didn't make huge improvements but I have only spent about 10 minutes trying to make it better. One thing I was missing on the build that I shared was slotting two Power Transfer chance for self heal IOs, those alone would make the build much tankier. This is my second go at it. Are you looking at all defense? On Shield Defense, Melee, Ranged and AoE are what you focus on. Anything above 45% is overkill for non-incarnate content, I don't have any incarnates slotted on the build I shared. You could easily push those defense numbers well above 60% at all times with Agility Alpha, Barrier, Melee Hybrid, etc.

I made this build months and months ago, so it's not nearly as good as one I could make now. But this should give you an idea of what you 'could' do. You could easily tank the entire game once you became comfortable with the set. Psi hole? You should have minimum 50%+ defense to all positions, which will cover most of that weakness. Some Psi attacks do not fall under Melee, Ranged, AoE.. And those will check your Psi defense stat. I can't tell you what those attacks are, or who those enemies are. But someone on here surely can. Between True Grit, Deflection, Tough and One With the Shield, you can sneak in 4 Impervium Armor +Psi resist IOs and 1 Aegis + Psi resist IO. That on top of set bonuses and the Tanker ATO proc.. You should cover it nicely.

Most useful Defender build for current fast endgame?
Camel replied to Substaticman's topic in Defender
This doesn't really answer your question, but it's something I experienced while playing my Kinetics/Sonic Defender. Just yesterday I had joined a speed Khan TF, there was a Dark/Sonic Defender, a Sonic/Sonic Defender, a Fire/Dark Corrupter and myself, the Kinetics/Sonic Defender. When we were fighting Reichsman, we had so much -resistance and +damage going.. .My T1 SHRIEK was hitting for OVER 500 damage. As a Defender, using their T1 blast attack... I was seeing some of the numbers from the Stalker on the team.. He was hitting for 7k damage with his Assassin Strikes. It was NUTTY. Reichsman and the other AVs were all eliminated in 15 seconds, easy. So... Doesn't really answer your question, but /Sonic anything on a Defender is really good on teams. I've heard good things about Beam Rifle as well. -

Definitely not! That's a beautiful build! Been thinking of making a Fire/Staff Tank as well.

Well, I'm in the pacific northwest waiting to get called for forest fires, IE, I have SO much free time. Other than that, I have no dedicated schedule. I'm actually playing right now and can initiate the transfer. I'll PM your global when I do.
