  1. This is fascinating as a demonstration of problems with the set. I do hope it gets addressed. I like my KM characters, but I solo them almost exclusively.
  2. As for 'why a corruptor, instead of a defender?' May I introduce you to the powerset Kinetics? Kinetics, whether defender or corruptor, can reasonably live at its damage cap, and if that's the case, the higher base damage and the damage add-on in Scourge mean a Corruptor will beat out a defender.
  3. I recognise that some sets have strengths and weaknesses and if I like AOE a lot, I should build the things that are really good at AOE. That said, patron pool AOE attacks tend to be pretty juicy.
  4. I still don't know why the low-level fortunatas (10-15) have the mez protection they do. It's one of the rudest things to deal with as a levelling dominator back in live days, when you were funneled into arachnos plotlines and just got vaporised on the reg by them.
  5. investing in this thread while I hope for someone else wiser than me The last information I had is that was that losing blood frenzy wasn't worth it, and Savage Leap is a proc delivery vehicle, but I'd rather see if there's better knowledge than my (quite old) folk wisdom.
  6. Oh sorry, you might have missed this bit in the original post: Happy to help!
  7. Clearly the best name for it is yeet cleavers
  8. I did search, couldn't find this specific thing. I recognise there are all sorts of problems with turning off the backpack and animation jank. But I'd really appreciate just as a roleplay tool, a toggle in the vein of Disable All Powers/Only Affecting Self powers, for Prismatic Shards, that at least let me hide the model of the crab backpack for situations where a character is meant to not have it. 'Twould be nice.
  9. You know, I've never said thank you for this. Thank you for this! This rules!
  10. ... Four. Realistically, seven, but, like, Stalkers are meant to be a melee AT.
  11. it's fascinating because it shows that it's not as simple as power=popularity.
  12. I did the Mercy plotlines for the first time in years this week and there are some odd choices there. Particularly, I was surprised how hard it was to fulfill one of the hunts for a pre-change plotline (Snakes). It definitely underscored how much the whole space is hostile in a really interesting way. Also there's a lot of space that doesn't feel... used? like there's a lot of spaces that are just 'more back alleys between cramped spaces,' rather than the way that Atlas feels like it has spaces designed for living/doing/hanging.
  13. It's a great set for duo/small group consistent play. Pugs, no idea, don't think I'd bother. But Fortitude is a corker of a buff available very early on that makes a lot of the levelling play experience easier, granting tohit, and defense and damage. I don't know if that's enough for a powerset to exist, but to me, I don't at all feel bad about rolling an empath to hang with a friend. Most of what I do on my empaths is fortitude the people who need it, auras when they're up, adrenaline boost an optimal target, and then I am all pew pew pew. It is a bit rough that most of its powers, I'd skip, but I mean that's true for me of Forcefield and Sonic too.
  14. Oh huh, I guess I should touch base here. Played on Virtue, played a lot of characters. Probably most known for Battlebriar, back ten years ago, or Fatal Harmonic? Either way, I'm around.
  15. It was issue 7, all my friends were playing brutes, masterminds and corruptors, and I thought that it'd be cool to know something they didn't, because I was a twerp. I started on dominators. I failed at dominators for a long time. Eventually, some years after I started playing, my first 50 was a Dominator. It took a few years, and included a lot of alting around to try and find something that made it work. Anyway, I wound up making a scrapper after that to see how quick he could get to 50 and I think it took a month, mostly solo street-sweeping in hazard zones. But by then I'd been bitten by the bug and I kept making dominators and working on the project of getting Permadom - and cheaply. I remember a build of him that relied on Knockback sets to get over the 70% mark.
