Okay, after speaking privately with HC members, I've decided to go ahead and run this thing independently. So here's the Patreon, if you wish to support this effort: http://www.cityofplayers.com/2019/07/04/please-support-city-of-players/ If I don't make my goal, then I'll consider this project shuttered, as I won't be able to justify the monthly expense of a server to my wife. So, it's now up to you as a community to decide if you want this or not. If I raise funds, and I don't meet my goal, those funds will be sent directly to the Child's Play charity. City of Players, LLC is now officially registered in the State of Wisconsin, USA.

I had thought about that, but it wouldn't make a difference with my current host. I have unlimited disk space, but the shared server's CPU/memory can't handle the sheer NUMBER of rows of data that were trying to index. It's overloading it. So we need a dedicated server regardless, because it's not about disk space and hosting the HTML, the limitation is in the operating specs.

Is the the one inside the giant Mecha? Because that Mecha just kicked my ass yesterday.

It IS really nice. I've got that in Repulsion Field now, along with all of the other IO Knockback Procs, in a frankenslotting situation. It's pretty sweet.

Since the HC team is super busy, either with the server and/or real life stuff, and I can't seem to reach them... I just decided to bite the bullet and just start things moving. I've filed registration of a new LLC in my state, paid the fees, and I've constructed a Patreon, though I haven't published it yet. I'm waiting to hear back about the LLC filing to ensure that I'm covered. After that, I'll publish the Patreon, and we'll see what happens after that.

You can get stuff prepped if you want, but don't bother with the Parser right now, it's on hold until I find better hosting.

Hmm... I'm looking hard at Patreon, it seems GoFundMe is kind of designed for a one time thing, and it'd be nice if I could get the community to help pay for a long-term server...

I've officially stopped all of your parsers from looping again by artificially raising the version number to a non-existent number until I get this figured out. No point in y'all wasting time and resources trying to get something working that won't. It looks like we've grown bigger than my current host at their current price range.

Okay, so I've tested and ruled out the clients and their communication. The stored procedures and methods that I've created to get the job done are now failing ON THE SERVER. I think that this database has gotten bigger than their hardware can support. Or at least the hardware that they've given me permission to use. At this point, I'm considering just hosting my own server... hmmmm... I do have a spare PC... but then it'd rely on my internet connection, which wouldn't necessarily be always up... what do you all think?

By the way, with the help from this guide and inspiration from Shinobu, I got myself from pretty much zero to about 250 million in a weekend of casual "hop in game once every few hours" crafting and marketeering. Thanks!

That's not really feasible. Actually, the text parsing itself is pretty quick. It's the checks to the database, making sure the data doesn't already exist, and then creating the data that takes most of the time. And that can't really be improved by any way that I can think of in a modular way.

Anyone knows a good web host that provides: ASP.NET MySQL Databases > 200GB in size Isn't super expensive? (hoping for $50 a month or less I can't seem to find all of these things. Either my search-fu is weak, or such a thing doesn't exist.

Even better on a 4 foot tall character. The standard mob hight puts your tatget area at groin height for most mobs.

It would cost to increase capacity. Alot. They said to give it some time and see if things clear up. If it doesn't after a bit, I'm supposed to try to change the nameserver in the connectionString to the IP address instead to remove another layer of abstraction. I'm doubtful... I got a funny feeling they're starting to throttle me to get me to pay for a higher level package...
