  1. ehh, even "tech" in most superhero settings feels rather magicky to be honest... It could be a thing like in Gold Digger where all the magic stuff is due to the engineering of some vastly powerful cosmic engineers or the like. At a certain place it's like that line in Thor "You call it science or magic in Asgard we know it's the same thing" or something to that effect, I know I'm butchering it there.
  2. If Dark Astoria is the Magic-focused incarnate storyline, a zone for other origins would be neat too...
  3. I also want more solo content for Incarnates.
  4. I'd also like repeatable missions like Ephram Sha with a different suite of enemies.
  5. Not sure how feasible this is in terms of the mechanics of the game and limits of the code. But I do wish what you could do with Builds is sort of like how Final Fantasy does jobs, where you can start working a different power set or archetype. Like maybe you'd still have to level up the archetype and powers, but maybe have some advanced speed, could also do this as an alternate to using the ouroboros crystal to do earlier missions arcs. It's not that much different from just starting a new character, but cut out some of the steps of logging out to character select or farming for influence and delivering by mail.
  6. And I think I'll leave off with my Staff Fighting/Willpower Brute: Queen Snake
  7. My Darkness Control/Dark Miasma/Force of Will Controller, Templar Oni:
  8. Here's my Pistols/Willpower Sentinel, Gunsmith Snake: Side note... I'd forgotten just how on the nose I'd made this character.
  9. This is my Kinetic/Radiation/Sorcery/Pyre Mastery Brute First her original costume: and her new costume:
  10. Okay, now that we've got access: Here's my Beast Master/Natural Affinity/Leviathan Mastery Beast Mastermind (I wish there was a Lore thing that fit the animals theme.
  11. This video is directly inspired by and references an incident that happened when I was playing this character in a tabletop game, As a note, the bits in the cave are semi-flashback, semi-nightmare. When she was first in the tomb there was nothing she immediately recognized as dangerous. Music is No More Reasons by Jason Charles Miller Note: There is some reused footage because when for some reason when I was processing individual parts before compiling, the video would freeze motion in the last couple of seconds. So I went from exactly on top of the song's length to...running low... irritating. But I know better now.
  12. Thanks, If I could, Crystal Visions, and Seven Nation Army were a bit more just a combat scene, though I did time the first rock in Crystal Visions to the music picking up. And More was just grabbing a bunch of bits here and there. But you, Immigrant's Song I worked on a bit more.
  13. I'm not all that great at video editing, but since coming back and since we've been allowed to post videos again, I've put out a couple videos and I have linked most of them yet (aside from the one key-binding one, and one about regeneration) So here we go. The links will probably take you to the list that includes these and some of the older videos from way back live.
  14. Unfortunately, don't think I have a costume focus screenshot with any of my other characters. Only that one because of the keybinding involved.
  15. Okay, this will be a bit odd.... I posted a video about this in the Guides section but I'll relink both the 30 minute test/discussion of what I did and the 12 minute action/music vid of the costume set in action. These 7 costumes and 62 Keybind files are one costume simulating progressive damage and then healing. The first three costumes are the start, then once the 4th costume is reached, she cycles between the last 5 costumes at a semi-regular degree... basically, each of the last 5 costumes (1 major damage, 2 healed states, 2 lesser-injury states) has a chance of shifting to the other 4. It's not quite as complex as a similar set-up I had in live on a Brute (5 costumes, 144 keybinds, which included later states shuffling which buttons do which things, random battle shouts, and also triggering follow at random moments.... made playing her an experience since she got progressively more impossible to control and more berserk... I did have a separate suite of keybinds for when I teamed, because I wasn't going to do the random behavior when I was on a team.)
  16. I need to do a better breakdown video of the stages... no voice, street hunts or low numbers in mission so it's easier to see the changes and add text to the video.
  17. It is set up to do this. In each of the 4 keybind files for Stage Six (major injury) there are 3 possible triggers for going to one of the two lesser injury states and 4 triggers for switching to one of the two healed states. In stages 9 and 10, 2 of the 4 stages have possible triggers to stage 6 (major injury) and all 4 have possible triggers to the alternate lesser injury state, and each of them have triggers to the 2 healed states (think it's all 4 possible powers like with stage 6: Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Instant Healing, Blood Thirst) In stages 7 and 8 (the healed states) there are possible triggers to stage 6, 9, 10 and whichever is the alternate healed state. As a note, this is adjusted from the explanation video where every file of stages 9 and 10 had a chance to provoke a change to the major injury state and where the 4 files of stage 6 each only had 1 trigger of each of the lesser injuries states (total of 2). I adjusted that so that major injury pops up a little less commonly. The action/music video shows the results of the adjusted probabilities. The adjustment works out really well. Sometimes a costume change is missed because it happens within the costume change cool-down, but that doesn't seem to be common. Either way, that's another bit of mechanic I had already considered and decided it naturally means that there's more time spent in any one state.
  18. Here's the explanation video: https://youtu.be/Z1OtD9f8vbk
  19. Okay, so there's a couple videos showing the results of this but I sort of brought back the keybinding costume-change suites I used on my Strength/Will Brute Tender Bar back in live. Okay here we go, at the time of the video where I discuss things, the format is as such: Stage 1 - 13 keybind files, each file attaches keybind loading to all the power trigger buttons and attaches a costume change (hat knocked off, a bit more bloody) to a differing power at each file, though I believe Power Slot 4 is selected twice. When the costume changes it also moves to stage 2. Stage 2 - 1 keybind file, does no file switching or costume changes with one exception: if the Blood Thirst power (Ctrl-1 slot) is used, it loads the bind file for the first stage 3 keybind file Stage 3 - 13 keybind files, same as Stage 1 except shreds the jacket and applies more combat damage, then moves to Stage 4 Stage 4 - 1 keybind file, same as stage 2, also ends once Blood Thirst is used moving to Stage 5 Stage 5 - 13 keybind files, same as stage 1 and 3 except drops jacket entirely and moves to the major combat damage costume slot. Shifts to Stage 6 Stage 6 - 4 keybind files, chances of moving to lesser damage states (costumes 6 and 7) based on attacks, can move to one of two healed states (obviously vampiric / not so vampiric) based on heals (Dull Pain, Reconstruction, Instant Healing) and Blood Thirst Stage 7 - 4 keybind files, Vampiric healed state, can move to Stage 6, 9, or 10 based on attacks, can shift to Stage 8 based on heals and Blood Thirst Stage 8 - 4 keybind files, Non-Vampiric healed state, can move to Stage 6, 9, or 10 based on attacks. Can shift to Stage 7 based on heals and Blood Thirst Stage 9 - 4 keybind files, Lesser damage state and bleeding, can shift to Stage 6 or 10 based on attacks, Can shift to stage 7 or 8 based on heals and Blood Thirst. Stage 10 - 4 keybinds files, Lesser damage state, bruised body (zombie body), and gashed arms, can shift to Stage 6 or 9 based on attacks. Can shift to stage 7 or 8 based on heals and Blood Thirst. After the discussion video, I added a Stage 0 that acts like Stages 2 and 4 that created a buffer that prevented costume changing until Blood Thirst is triggered once. -------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: The video for the explanation didn't get properly uploaded will fix. The action/music video below works fine. -------------------------------------------------------------- If you want a less talky demonstration here is a mission I ran later and set to music from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
  20. Last time I faced Reichsman was on Live and I was a Dark/Elec Defender and basically it was a long slugfest in which he couldn't do much but struggle because I'd debuffed him into the ground. That was well before incarnates were released.
  21. I know this is a very tall order, but more long story arcs like the Mot story would be interesting to see. We do have the Praetorian stuff, I know, but would be interesting to see a few other things eventually.
  22. It's about 30 minutes of mid-level (26) game play with me talking about my approaching to playing a /regen character. I do tend to ramble a bit, also, I tend to give into scrapper-lock occasionally and get a little lax on my own advice, but eh... Bullet points in no particular order: Hit and Run / Attrition You can go down in an instant so always be ready to break off. It takes a lot of room. You benefit by making the fight take a long time. (this also makes fun drawn-out action sequences) Soft controls and move-speed debuffs can help you string the enemy out. Take advantage of the AI pathing to also keep them separated and avoid bundling in one place until you want them together. To-hit and damage debuffs aid your survivability a lot. Don't plan to need revive but don't consider using it a failure. Avoid fighting at the sight of the spawn in order to make reviving easier. Target minions to weed out the amount of damage coming at you to a manageable level. And talking Savage Melee specifically with Regen Blood Frenzy keeps your recharges fast, so don't use exhaust abilities willy nilly. You're fighting attrition, not speed kill and high recharge keeps your heals coming faster. Blood Thirst cancels Exhaustion, so if you have Blood Thirst ready go ahead and use an Exhaustion attack.

  23. It's a pacing tool... which, admittedly is all of control (including tanking) mainly you're going to use AoE sleep on adds that you don't want to deal with right now. Especially if tank has gone over aggro cap. It can also be used to cut short the durations of some enemy toggles. Now... PBAoE sleeps are a little bit....ehhh because of this. And PBAoE sleeps on a TANKER are terrible
  24. Was getting some compliments on this character so decided to post some bits of the RPG character she's inspired by here: (three images sorry) Oh, hey. I don't suppose I exactly match your idea of a vampire, do I? Well, sure in some ways. I do have that presence and appearance of aristocratic beauty going for me. Pale, skin, golden hair, full lips, the fancy nails that look like I spend a fortune at the manicurist. You have no idea how hard I worked to break that image before and then this happens and I'm more fragile princess than I've ever been before. I suppose you might also see the fangs and the red cast that hangs over my blue eyes. I bet you're also aware that any manicurist that took a file to these oh so pretty claws would find them scratching her file rather than the other way around. See that guy, over there? He doesn't see those things. He sees the gorgeous fantasy princess body dressed in camo-pants and a tank-top. But to him, my eyes are deepest blue, my skin is alabaster, and my hair gold with none of the hanging shadows you probably see. He probably thinks I'm some daddy's girl playing paramilitary. In any case, aristocratic beauty aside, vampires aren't supposed to go grocery shopping. Sorry to disappoint, but I still have to eat. Granted, my steaks are a lot more rare, and finding recipes for blood sausage or blood pudding is a thing, but yeah, I eat. How did I get this way? Nobody bit me, if that's what you're thinking. My best thought is it has to do with an ancient tomb I fell into while I was in The War. That was literal. The ground caved in and dumped me and a few others. We very literally fell into an undiscovered tomb. (I'm trying to find the rest of the short-story, there was one or two thousand words, I think... but the file seems to be sadly lost, so all I have left is the snippet I put in her roll20 character sheet.) She was originally created for a Mutants and Masterminds game, but eventually I played her in City of Mist. Her Mythos was twofold. On the one hand she was a Rift of the Count of Monte Cristo and on the other a vampiric version of Lamashtu had sort of latched on to her and adjusted the shape of her mythos so that she was a vampire version of the count. At the time she was playing, she was still in the vagabond stage of the Count's story rather than the mysterious manipulator... though she did meet her Greek Princess in the form of a Rift of Medusa she started dating.

  25. Character is based on a character in a fanfic where she became an oni at one point and is a big fan of the Secret World game which her sisters used to play.... and secretly she's an actual Templar doing justice work on her "LARP" events.
