  1. Everything on that page listed as Global will function like a set bonus and shut off if you exemplar more than three levels below the enhancement. However, you don't need to memorize that page, because any enhancement that doesn't give enhancement values to the power you put it in will function exactly the same no matter what level it is, so you can always just buy the recipe at the lowest level. And if you're buying it as an enhancement from the market, skipping the crafting process, the price is exactly the same if you buy it attuned.

  2. Combustion in Fire Manipulation used a sword inner symbol, similar to Fire Sword Circle, even though it isn’t an elemental weapon attack. A generic damage symbol was more accurate, but a generic damage symbol with a PBAoE border was being used as the icon for Blazing Aura (now Cauterizing Aura). Changing the inner symbol to the Damage Over Time symbol frees up the generic damage symbol for Combustion. This change to the symbol was applied to most/all damage aura powers in the game.

  3. I see you posted in the icon pack thread, so I see what's happening here. Recall Friend is one of the powers the icon pack changes. If you took a moment to look at Recall Friend, you'd see that it is in fact using the icon image that you're seeing in your macros. If you want the old icon back, you just have to go to the folder where the changed icon files are (inside your CoH installation folder, it's data -> texture_library -> GUI -> Icons -> Powers) and remove the file Teleportation_RecallTeleport.texture from that folder.

Things may have started out that way, but regarding live devs, they made regular posts on the forums (later on) focused on fixing the initially broken in-game economy.

The guideline they came up with was the idea that by level 50 your build should be finished, and that should be reachable through normal leveling, with the auction house only existing as a place to move Enhancements around (so that builds could be rounded out). They repeatedly stated they viewed grinding as different from speculating at a sort of pure finance game.

I don't believe they ever posted anything to that effect. If anything they were simply talking about the then-new Merit Reward system.

You're implying they didn't quickly sell out at the 12 000 000 cost, only to be replaced by new examples, which is what they did. That speculator made the history look like 12 000 000 was the expected price, and saying that only a few players were conned doesn't un-scam them.

How were they scammed? They paid a price they were willing to pay.
