I have a much less complicated problem this time. Probably.

Sentinel /Ninjitsu Kuji-In Rin isn't showing as taking any enhancements at all. Confirmed in-game that it does. See attached screenshot.

Edit: Same problem with Scrapper and Stalker.

    I helped!

Transporters on Star Trek have the capability to filter out matter with a high level of specificity.  A weapon, for example, can be left behind, or transported to a different location than the individual being transported.  No reason a flaming arrow couldn't be excluded from teleportation in Co*, given the technological sophistication displayed in the game.

Can the teleporter also generate new matter from nothing, to fill the gaping/scalded hole in my face from aforementioned arrow?

Not a Trekkie, so I'm legit asking. Conservation of matter and all that. 😏

  3. My whole issue is like... Paragon doesn't have bacta tanks or a Purple Ray, so even if you *do* get insta-teleported to a hospital, you still have a giant flaming arrow in your face when you get there.

Not much to do about that.

Well, this isn't the place for it and I find a vast number of your comments about things outside the game amusing, but I'd love to know what you think the alternative is. All the kids get to vote on things?

I have two children. "Do whatever I say without questioning or me providing any reasoning at all" is not how to do things. I am deeply sorry you were apparently raised that way.

On topic, yay devs! Keep it up. @Cobalt Arachne in particular

Sure. Could also just put Null in the zones where he is most needed too. No new code required. No fuss over opening a spreadsheet and doing a search on all your characters. Just a "Hey! Apparently this character is affected by Group Fly!" or "Whoops! I need to be affected by Group Fly here and am not.", dash over to Null at zone hospital or whereever, make a quick change, and be done. I don't understand why there is so much opposition to something that requires just a duplication of an existing NPC into other zones and does not impose on others.

Because it doesn't need to be done enough to justify doing it.

  6. I take firm and staunch insult to your placement of SR on this list.

SR has easy softcapped and more and DDR, But don't forget scaling resists (without IOs, then more with Reactive) so you can focus on Max HP and Regen.

Isn't the invention tutorial still working at the universities?

It's still there, but there's no notification that it exists unless you already know to go do it.

I suggest: make the invention tutorial contact get a "New Contact" screen when you ding 15 and add it to "Find Contact"

No.  I'm saying that COX is essentially based on Dungeons and Dragons.  A really basic system from the 70s.

Dungeons and Dragons balance counted on the DM to gate the system without mercy.  DMs that didn't ended up with situations where the players were nigh unkillable gawds that could curbstomp anything.

The original purpose of S1/The Tomb of Horrors was to perma-kill off the entire party and take all their stuff. It was literally an attempt to solve the same problem we have in COX.

These big challenge settings the devs are coming up with are attempts to come up with more content that feels challenging.  And it will to an extent depending on team composition.

But if the problem were "solved" all your content would work again.  And of course thats not going to happen.

There are other ways to make games.  Some easier to balance than the "Roll a 20 sider and see what you get..."   A lot kind of suck for tabletop, because of all the math though ...   you basically  need a computer.  HEH.

But this is the one we have.  They aren't going to change the mechanics now.

What is this "Dungeoness and Dragonfly's" you speak of? I is only a wee baby child and have never heard of a dee-twenty man.

    🧐

How exactly was adding challenge difficulty to *one* piece of content supposed to "fix" all the rest of it, exactly?

Both Widows and Soldiers get the same ATOs, so Widows would get access to this too.

The ATOs for VEATS are confusingly put under the catagory of "Soldiers of Arachnos" and doesn't just refer to Arachnos Soldiers, the AT.

I meant application of the SoA fear thing as the inherent rather than the toxic proc.

    As a joke.

    Because the idea is bad.

I run a lot of themed task forces (99% ITF because it is reasonably fast and everyone knows it) on Everlasting.  By themed I mean things like all one AT (Blaster, Defender, etc) or all one type of toon (all Electricity, all Fire, etc).  I find these types of teams often do much better than a standard PUG.  My favorites are usually all Def/Corr or all Electric (especially since the update to electric blast).

Does anyone else enjoy doing these and if yes, what are you favorites to run and what have you found that really works well and don't work particularly well?  This week is ITF week, but I think I want to try others.

One thing I do want to do is setup an all Corruptors team Vs. and all Defenders team to run a +4 ITF (kill most) race to see who finishes first.  Still trying to figure out how to do that without going crazy.  Any ever done anything like this?

The corruptor team wins in a landslide. We've done it.

Well... there is a limit of 120 inspirations at any one time, and recharge times on rezes from powers, so it's not incredibly likely that the servers would encounter a stack overflow from counting your defeats...

    ❤️

Honestly though I don't die nearly as much as I used to. I don't know if I like that or not.

Especially because I have no idea how often my poor SS/WP brute, Bunny Fufu, faceplanted on that run.

Side note: Ok, ok, I'll take rage. We really needed the extra damage.

Yeeeeeeah I wasn't gonna call you out on that specifically but I appreciate the humility. 😉

  13. As usual, BSOD's weekly themed ITF (last night, it was all sub-40s only) birthed some interesting ideas, but one really stood out:

    Personal Defeat Counter!

We can already track overall team defeats on a Task/Strike Force, but what about tracking our own individually?

Granted, I 100% understand how some folks definitely don't want to be reminded of how many times their godawful build or just absolutely dogshit playstyle (looking in the mirror here tbh) bought them floor-front real estate over the course of a TF.

Make it a selectable option on the TF starting screen!

We had 64 total faceplants on our determined 5-man level 35 team, but we got it done, damnit. I for one would love to know specifically how awesome my TA/A defender was in staying alive as compared to the "damage mitigation"-based tank, who got me lots of progress toward my first healing badge via my trusty temp power Rez.

Obviously, our group would openly share the details, and most wouldn't, but it would be a fun little flavor option I think, given its ability to be added of course.

Sure, you can also keep track on a Post-It, but that's tedious and who honestly has time in the midst of a three-spawn arches pull?
