Yeah, I'm working out the plan part. Only thing I had care about were IO's back in the day, wasn't that difficult haha. And whatever Hamidon dropped (I forget the name).

How would we deal with it? Just not care about the theme? Or restrict what kind of customization options you get? Like, how are humanoid robots going to shoot their guns? Are we going to have "Huge" ninjas? Healthy looking little girl zombies vomiting all over the place? I'm not really against it, but it is something to take into consideration.

Questions regarding Leadership & Bots/Time Skills
Klaleara replied to UnlikelyHeroTx's topic in Mastermind
Curious if everyone agrees that Assault is useless. Not that I'm really sure what else I'd replace it with on my MM. I think Assault is fine and I take it on a lot of my characters, in fact you could argue that it's the best Leadership power for teaming. The thing to keep in mind with Leadership is the way that they stack on teams. Tactics essentially doesn't stack since there's a pretty low soft cap on To Hit so most people will be fine with a single instance of Tactics. Maneuvers sort of stacks since it's good to have extra defense but a lot of teams are already throwing around plenty of defense buffs and other damage mitigation so it's often superfluous. Assault on the other hand may only be a ~10% bonus but it's a 10% that you can stack 8 times and unless you have a Kinetic on the team you probably aren't hitting the damage cap regularly. So while Assault may not be the best solo power I think it's an excellent team power. Awesome answer, thanks. What about for pets? I heard something about buffs not being as powerful on pets now days? -
I'd love for teleport to be instant, make it a lot less of a hassle to actually deal with. If possible, the first teleport could have the full animation, but after that, instant would be fab. That, and/or have an option to remove the sound. Which may or may not be in the game already

So running a Necro/Kin MM. Level 22 atm, and getting to the point where the obvious stuff is out of the way. And curious where I should begin building my character. And what kind of enhancements I should work towards. Last time I played, set enhancements weren't a thing yet. Just some info on my char. I do plan on playing in groups, as soloing isn't the most fun. But I do still need to be self sufficient. I've taken teleportation as my travel power I have taken Maneuver, Assault, and Tactics as Leadership And I've really been questioning whether I should even run Soul Extraction. If others are really convinced its useful, I'll keep it. But I don't find the chance to use it very often as is. The difficulty I run seems to be right at the "Rarely do my pets die" situation, anything more, and I find out I'm dying fairly often. Not much of an in-between for me it seems.

Currently kills during Events don't give XP, Enhancements, or Inspirations. I love them so far, they are fun, but no one wants to actually do them, because they take so long, chances of dying are decent, and the reward is fairly lack luster IF you complete it. If we allowed xp to be gained from kills, people would actually be interested! They are fun, and actually risky most the time. Just needs that reward. Also, partial completion XP/Inf would be nice too, considering if you fail, you get literally nothing for that entire time you're doing it.

You know there's an EASY solution to that... right? No? I’m all ears. Anything to improve my chances for finding a group. Awesome! I'm glad you're all ears! Here's what you do: Now... just repeat steps 6 and 7 probably about 7-8 times, and you'll be a part of a full team in NO TIME! Fun fact: 0 are looking. I'm 14, so I felt like 6-20 is an appropriate range, but I also changed to "all". All Maps, All Levels, all Archtypes, 0 looking. Just myself.

I forgot about this arc....man its so fun. Even the Christmas ski'ing is really fun too. Really wish they would introduce more of it.

As for the sidekick. It would promote soloing, but atm, I can't even find a team, so I got nothing against that. Sidekick could easily be part of the tutorial, someone you help/save/mindwipe/manipulate/etc, and they want to follow in your footsteps. Make them an androgynous hooded figure, so you can customize them entirely. They would be even more fresh than you, and look up to you (Or have to due to some scheme of yours). I mean, in Going Rogue at level 10 you can get your own team! As for the sidekick system in the game, thats really just a name. I don't think that would cause an issue. Just a lore fitting name for bringing someone up to your level (And infuriatingly, not a system that is often duplicated in other MMO's). Sidekick should totally be solo based (Or up to two players), to help even you out so you CAN solo. Plenty of other content that requires a team though, so I don't see too much issue.

My Peacebringer was a human/dwarf build. But I didn't play them separately, I was always switching between the forms, constantly using abilities. It was so much fun, I absolutely loved it. And she had some outrageous Costume Contest win rate, something like 80-90% (She was sexy). Anyways, Glad to see a post like this. I hated squid form, so I never incorporated it. But I can't imagine how awesome all three would be.

I realize this is basically never happening, but its always been a dream. And I'm bored at work, so here we go! One thing I've absolutely always wanted, was a Warzone type area, with a PVE contested area. We will use the Rikti Warzone as an example here. They had a bunch of mini outpost/bases in the area, if they were expanded a bit more, and the Rikti could actually assault, and take them over if they killed a specific Boss character, they could take it over, and from there spread throughout that area of the map. Getting stronger as they go. The allied NPC's would also fight back, and often could take back a base/outpost. Not always the case. Maybe the Rikti are making a huge push. Heroes come in, and help the NPCs fight back. Two reasons I'd personally love this. One, it would make a Warzone map actually living. There are consequences/boons to everything that happens. The frontline moves around, things can get more dangerous for players if they let it get out of hand, etc. I wouldn't even complain if high level players had to get involved in order to fight it back, it would feel awesome calling the "Legends". Or being a high level player being requested by other players would feel awesome. The other reason, is simply because I love war. Seeing the chaos, and seeing it react on its own. Seeing something move, and change without player interaction is absolutely fantastic. In the games that have something similar, I often find myself just watching it, and seeing how things play out. Anyways, I'd love a new, or revamped old maps that do this. RIP Tabula Rasa.

This. Unsure if people just don't try Poison, but out of my 4 Masterminds that hit 40+ (Thugs, and Robotics being maxed), Thugs and Poison were by faaaaaaar the most powerful. It was outrageous actually. ESPECIALLY in PVP. Invincible (Not literal invincible...well, yes, but others too) dropped to their knees to my Thugs/Poison. In PVE, they were just as effective. Noxious Gas was just hilariously strong, and all the other abilities were great too.

I remember early in the games "Live" state, I had a level 38 Force Defender. Now and then, I would go to Perez Park, Force Bubble up, and gather HUNDREDS of Hellions. I would announce in broadcast as a warning, where I was bringing them all. And there would be 20+ heroes sitting there waiting. Mostly lowbies, but also quite a few high levels, just sitting around buffing the lowbies up. I would then drag them over to that spot, and an all out war between Hellions, and Heroes would burst out. I would sit there bubbling heroes to my best ability. I'd see high level empaths healing everyone. And all the lowbies just blowing Hellions to pieces. There were casualties now and then, but they got back up, and went back to the battle! Seeing so many people helping lowbies, and just seeing this massive chaotic war was something I've never seen before. Then one day, a GM came along. And slapped my wrist telling me to never do it again. (I'm assuming it was the guy who jumped in the middle of the group as I was pulling them all to the spot, and AoE'd them. They insta died, then complained to me) What was really funny, was all the Heroes, high and low, started yelling at the GM. About how great of a time they were having, and he should bugger off. The GM then used some ability that immobilized everyone. Then told me that he would ban me unless I got everyone under control. I was a kid back then, so I was panicked, and asked everyone to chill. It is one of my favorite video game memories to this day though!

I don't just mean the Pet Enhancement buffs -- it would be frustrating for my necro/therm but downright mean for secondaries with AoE buffs on longer cooldowns, like kin or time. And if the zombies inherit all the buffs affecting a GK or the Lich (assuming that's even possible), returning to my /therm, I'd be getting a ton of Forged zombies. Maybe not gamebreaking? But it seems like the dice are rolling a bit on that. Ah, I see what you're saying. No, not all buffs (Unsure if that would even be possible. Could be fun to play around with though heh, imagine 3 zombies with Noxious Gas from Poison. THAT would be OP). But its a balancing act, the zombies in my head, are throw away units. A necromancer doesn't care about the crappy zombies he summoned, nor should he, he has higher priorities. Buffs should be focused on Grave Knights/Lich, and the Zombies are mostly Soul Extraction fodder, base damage, and meat shields. That is the whole point of the change to them dying, is to really give the feel of an unending army. With that, you don't care about every unit. They are a summon and forget pet. While that is a direct nerf not being able to effectively buff them constantly. They are buffed by the fact that you can use Soul Extraction a lot more. And the ghosts get buffed, so AoE buffs would become exponentially more powerful the more ghosts you have, so that alone could be too much of a buff.

Meh, if people want to abuse it, let them. I don't think the system was so embedded into the game, it would be a constant threat. So you wouldn't gain much of an advantage. I remember in Champions Online, I gave it powers that were opposite of mine. Made it feel more Nemesis like. I'd always try to make them stronger than me personally, but I think it should be the persons choice. For both theme reasons, or maybe they want to ezm0de it.

Mastermind pets and recharge buffs/debuffs: proposed change
Klaleara replied to Elthenar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yeha, would have to change the AI a bit to add priority to their attacks. Heavy attacks first, then secondary, then weak. -
Sidekick could be implemented in two ways. Or both (preferred) 1. Mastermind type pet that only shows up when you're solo. Definitely help beginner Controller characters not feel so helpless, and give Defenders an easier time too. 2. During team missions, if you would take fatal damage, chance they show up, take the hit that would kill you. And if they survive, help fight for a bit. Longer its been since they showed up, the higher chance they will come. (This one would probably be far too complex to code in than worth, but it would be neat and fun when it happened!)

Mastermind pets and recharge buffs/debuffs: proposed change
Klaleara replied to Elthenar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I 100% back this myself. Adds another layer of complexity to Mastermind. -
I wouldn't complain about this, if the change of them dying easier was also in place. Otherwise its just the same issue as it is. The only other issue, it would take away the real feeling of raising the dead, instead of just calling it. As you're affecting an actual corpse. To keep it unique, I see the Necromancer having 3 Tier 1 2 Tier 2 1 Tier 3 2-4 Ghosts Give them more consistently more pets than the others. As Necromancers tend to be known to be swarmy. But I don't want to just give them the ability to call a bunch of undead, cause that takes away from Gang War, which is unique and powerful on its own accord. Want to find a sweet spot for Necro.

1. I’m entirely behind that soul extraction change. Especially with the rot. I’d still personally prefer my change, but I think rot/soul change would definitely be in the right direction, and fun. Any unique mechanic is good imo. 2. I’m not thinking constant spamming, I’m more thinking using it once per group maybe in a normal situation. But I’m boss battles, extra loaded groups, you MIGHT have to do it twice. As for the buffing, I already addressed that by saying they would automatically have the buffs the tier above them has. 3. I remember poison being the most OP power out of all the ones I tried. It was downright brutal. Way stronger than dark. I have not played with time though, so can’t comment..

I loved the Build-a-Nemesis system. And I would love to see it here. I’d also would love a build a sidekick too, someone who shows up in Nemesis situations now and then. And maybe a chance to show up if you’re about to lose.
-
I remember them being fragile. But I also remember being darkness secondary, and buffing their defense, while debuffing their to hit making it not much of an issue. Even for Hero tier.
-
Its all just a numbers game, clearly things would have to be changed to balanced entirely. I don't think Necro needs a buff or nerf, but I do believe it needs a thematic change to make it more unique and not just "good". Unlimited ghosts is not the plan, in my head I see 2-4 ghosts if the combat is fairly consistent. And the ghosts numbers would have to be individually reduced to accommodate the increase in numbers. Also, sorry that my pets don't normally die as is? Unsure how to do it right, and make it so they are constantly dying? EDIT: Doesn't Ninja's do an outrageously good amount of damage? I remember them slaughtering everything.
