  1. Were you thinking of EndMod or Recharge? Because really, if I slotted the proc it would be to get the 7.5% recharge set bonus, which is likely only that high because the proc is unique.
  2. I thought of a potentially (pun noticed but not intended) controversial suggestion for Shock, but first some background on where it was coming from: Electric Melee offers a chance of mag 2 sleep with Charged Brawl (10%), Havoc Punch (30%), and Jacob's Ladder (10%). Realizing that it would make the power best for Controllers, would it help while soloing to add a short 30% mag 3 sleep, and a minor damage tick (similar to Gale) to keep it from stacking?
  3. I've been in several airports that do this. You can go from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor through a down escalator, but the up escalator goes to the 3rd floor. 3rd floor is departures, 2nd is arrivals.
  4. Posted this in the other thread last night because it was in response to a comment about Energy Melee, but it really belongs here: Per the standard damage formula the change to Shadow Maul is doing less damage than it should at a 14 second recharge. Copying from the post (correcting for the missing denominator), the formula is: Damage Scale = 0.2*(0.8*Recharge+1.8) / AreaFactor, where AreaFactor = ((1+(Radius*0.15))-(((Radius/6)*0.011)/5)*(360-Arc)). Showing the work rather than just using the spreadsheet calculator that I checked the numbers with so if there's something wrong it can be pointed out: The radius is 7', arc is 120, so you plug the numbers in to get: DS = 0.2 * (0.8 * 14 + 1.8) / ((1 + (7 * 0.15)) - (((7 / 6 * 0.011) / 5) * (360 - 120)) 0.2 * (11.2 + 1.8) / ((1 + (1.05)) - (((1.16667 * 0.011) / 5) * (240)) 0.2 * (13) / ((2.05)) - (((0.012833) / 5) * 240)) 2.6 / (2.05 - (.0025667 * 240)) 2.6 / (2.05 - 0.616) 2.6 / 1.434 DS = 1.813 From the OP: Edit to add: If Dark Consumption gets scale 3.18 damage criticals in an AoE then there's not really any excuse for reduced criticals on anything anymore.
  5. It didn't have worse AoE - Whirling Hands wasn't touched. You could argue that it had better AoE simply because you could swap targets faster with Energy Transfer - which I did to simulate AoE damage - but that's just being technical. As another note: per the design formulas posted in the Developer's Corner it's underperforming - a 14 sec recharge AoE with an 8' radius should do scale 1.1818 damage, and it does scale 1. If it were bumped to a 10' radius it should do scale 1.04. While we're looking at those formulas, the new Shadow Maul is underperforming also: a 14 second recharge, 7' radius 120 degree cone should do scale 1.8131 damage, but it was reduced to scale 1.588 per the patch notes. Shadow Maul used to actually be better than scaled as a single-target attack (should be scale 1.64 at 8 seconds) because it seems like a lot of things were thrown out the window for pure DoT attacks.
  6. If this in still on the table, count me as liking this version better.
  7. It's easy to miss and you weren't the only one that did - as you said, the light blue doesn't provide a good contrast, which is why I changed the color when I quoted it.
  8. No, Thermal should be Heal Blast in honor of the effects. Since Pain Domination is taken already, that means that Empathy would have to be Health Domination. And as echoed above, my problem isn't with Shock Therapy as a name in and of itself, it's that it sounds like it should be the heal within an electric support set. Still haven't been on beta yet but I'm back from work and downloading now.
  9. From the OP (emphasis added):
  10. Value judgement of the contribution aside, let's not forget that Force Fields provides +bouyancy!
  11. I kindof like this one. It's not a "that's it!" type of reaction, but Electricity Manipulation is taken already, and tacking Affinity on the end sounds better than tacking Support on the end to me. Unfortunately, my brain isn't feeling all that creative at the moment to try to come up with alternatives.
  12. Repeating the comment from the other thread so it's in the right spot: since Stalkers do not get Dark Consumption, would it be possible to keep the arc increase, but not lower the damage scale for the Stalker version of the set only?
  13. It used to be knockback immunity (100 points of protection), it's not anymore. It also requires 2 additional power choices in the same pool for essentially 2-3 KB protection IOs depending on slotting.
  14. They probably just haven't been created yet, but if not then this thread is going to get pretty long.
  15. Since Stalkers don't have Dark Consumption, could they keep the higher damage scale and larger cone on Shadow Maul?
  16. As an alternative, here's the same title, just... different.
  17. How about some "music" to cause epic battles?
  18. Based on those numbers, Stalkers are clearly underperforming and need a(nother) buff.
  19. A minor nitpick: EMP also has the 50% chance for a mag 4 hold which doesn't appear to be present in ESD to go along with the -regen and larger radius. Sure it's not a guarantee, and the endurance cost is probably too high given what was assigned to ESD, but being able to one-shot hold bosses is a nice bonus.
  20. To address the question directly asked to me: I started in issue 7, which was after GDN (which was in i5 per source) and before any IOs. My own personal experience was that once I learned to build a character and had SOs on them, I had to increase the difficulty to Relentless* in order feel challenged, and once IOs came along the challenge was simply "how overpowered could you get?" with the answer being limited by availability. Along comes Homecoming, with easy access to everything, and since anyone can fill almost every role, now the question is more about how quickly or how few people are needed to accomplish things rather than whether or not they can be done. I have no idea where this sudden glamorization of "pre-i5" is coming from: most of the accounts I've heard from pre-GDN days were either where people were herding entire maps (because there was soooo much challenge then), people talking about being completely untouchable on their Scrappers (wow, that sounds familiar), or from people talking about forming all support teams to steamroll everything where they might let someone else come along and soak up experience. So those accounts have me questioning what you were doing that makes it so that you needed a specific AT since there has been overlap in roles from day 1 and by almost all accounts (counting yours as the exception) the game was harder between issues 5 (GDN) and 9 (IOs) than either before or after. * - I started redside because I was gifted a CoV box, I forget the name of the hero equivalent: it's the what would be +2/x1 with Bosses and AVs enabled using the modern adjusements but was as high as you could go at the time
  21. The game has always been easy at +0 with just SOs, and no AT has ever been needed. If those are your complaints, then why did you ever like the game?
  22. Oh, I personally think that Fortunatas are better off, but I was just trying to point out that it isn't completely lopsided in one direction.
  23. ...and if we're going to include it anyway, Fortunatas get Confuse and Aura of Confusion, they just don't get the additional magnitude and duration from Domination. The Dominator gets Drain Psyche, a snipe, different epic pools, Psychic Shockwave is up more often than Psychic Wail, and Domination gives them mez protection. They don't get Super Reflexes-level defense or claw attacks, but they aren't really hurting for damage.
  24. It's like Vernon von Grun says:
  25. (edit: thought about this one just because it was so easy to link "love" and it was skipped)
