DECEMBER!! Snow in the air and on the ground, frozen water all over Atlas Park. Christmas ends, holiday presents still available for a week after. New Years Eve, presents are gone and the snow stops falling... but the snow remains on the ground and the water is still frozen over. A week later, snow is completely gone and the iced over water has thawed completely. Also, flowers have returned. Logically, January 7 = Springtime

Replacing regular grassy areas with snowy grassy areas would not change the stress on the graphics card. It's just a texture swap, replacing one for another. Replacing one kind of tree with another kind isn't adding more either, it's just another swap. Frozen over water doesn't move like regular water does, so that should actually reduce the strain. The only addition winter brings, aside from the glowing gifts dropped everywhere already, is the snow... and it's not a real 3D effect of snow particles spread out everywhere; it's just a 2D effect placed at the front of the screen so everything is seen through falling snowflakes, so that's a minor effect at worst. So I'm not really buying it that the winter wonderland actually makes things more difficult.

You would not have to change your established habits, nor would you have to avoid AP or the entire game. You're choosing to, and that's entirely your choice to do. But you aren't forced to do anything, so it comes off as you just not wanting to have a little fun with a seasonal change.
-
So there's no actual reason beyond you don't like change and would choose to avoid the entire game if the winter zone change were spread out across the game. I'm going to stand by my opinion that you're no fun, and I don't believe your assertion that there are people who would genuinely disagree with me.
-
You didn't answer how the zone change makes life difficult for you.
-
Plenty of people disagree with your sentiment that the holiday zone change makes the zone something to be avoided. And just how does the change make your life difficult?
-
Plenty of people disagree with you, too. That's the thing about opinions: they're just that, and none of them are right.
-
Well you're just no fun.

Early game design was intended to make you jump through those hoops. It was a time sink to keep people playing because some people might "finish" the game and move on to other things if everything was too convenient. There's so much to accomplish now, and replayability with all of the different powerset and AT combinations, not to mention being able to switch sides after Going Rogue, or to build your own content or play others' with Architect Entertainment, that it's really not an issue anymore... but those old time sinks are still there. I'd really like for winter to reach out to all of the zones. It's a little jarring to be running around in Atlas Park with snow in the air and on the ground and then hop on the tram to Kings Row and it looks the same as it does all year long. I get that it's a lot of work and not as simple as the Halloween event where building windows can be swapped out with decorated windows and some pumpkins randomly strewn about the landscape... but it would be nice to see patches of snow everywhere and all of the water frozen over.

Releasing the names Noiseblaster and Sticky... I hope they find a good home.

Radiant Sentry Energy / Willpower Sentinel Was originally an Electric / Energy Blaster on the old servers, but once again I was taken in by the Sentinel AT.

I'm not Keith. I'm just referring to an episode of Family Guy where Peter and his friends were breaking into his father-in-law's vault. One of the locks was a security question asking what the worst name ever is. Spoiler: It's Keith.

Commissioned. I can draw stick figures. And now for Sun Girl, my fire/energy blaster, because I did enjoy that build on Emerald Inferno back in the day.
-
Meet X-Miss, the Christmas-powered mutant. Electric / Empathy Controller, stringing up her electric lights to bind villains and providing gifts of healing and buffs to her allies.
-
Emerald Inferno Fire/Fire/Fire Sentinel A long-time favorite of mine from the old servers, she used to be a fire/energy blaster on Virtue. I always envisioned her as more of fighter with the fire blast bit, so I compromised and made her a blapper. But with the creation of the sentinel AT, she finally realized her true potential... after throwing in melee attacks from some pool powers.

Sure, why not? 😎 At least you didn't pick Keith.

Is there an estimate for when we'll be able to transfer between shards again?
-
You could probably fudge it with some of the apocalypse costume pieces, and use the magnetic aura to have swirling objects around you.
-
If anyone has any of the names below and are interested in moving to the corresponding shard, I am looking to consolidate my characters in one location (preferably Torchbearer). Battle Babe (Everlasting) Contrary (Indomitable) Crafter (Indomitable) Dragonstorm (Everlasting) F-Bomb (Everlasting) Flasher (Everlasting) Glory Hammer (Everlasting) Good Girl (Indomitable) Nose Goblin (Everlasting) Omnipotence (Indomitable) Poledancer (Everlasting) Public Defender (Everlasting) Stripper (Indomitable) Struggle (Indomitable)

If anyone has the following names on Torchbearer and would like to trade for them on Everlasting, I have some characters I would like to move over to Torchbearer. Battle Babe Dragonstorm F-Bomb Flasher Glory Hammer Knockoff Mighty One Nose Goblin Poledancer Public Defender Stormson Threat Level
-
Wasn't this already in effect for awhile? Something like 30 days for characters level 5 or lower and then if someone else tries to use the same name on the same shard, you lose the name.
-
I'd bet against that. Remember, Statesman existed without the cape when the game first started and was given a cape later like the rest of us. The special mantle was an even later addition.
