  1. To me this set is closer to Gravity where the pet really enhances the whole set's synergy, damn Reverb is so bold to stare down a Zeus and not get hurt. Personally as of now as Controller you want either, Sonic, Storm or Kin. Anything that can play with force feedback to keep Confounding Chant recharge low. But yeah you can easily set up Confounding Chant to be almost 90 out and touch a whole room.
  2. That's why I wonder if the normal player base know or even care about Beta branch if they want to try something just hop over there and spend an hour or so building a character then figuring out if you can afford it, or even like how the build plays. Since to me the again the 3rd time saying it the REAL AE problem is solved they're out of AP and Mercy. This whole thread is pointless until we understand the removal of these AE's first really do change something. Doesn't really bother me when I normally roll a new character it's like 3am EST or some shit and I start as a villain. Yet those Blue players have to change it up.
  3. The only problem was when you had to pop into AP and it lags for other zones it's no problem. They might finally spread out a bit since I've had my game crash a few times zoning in when running some TF's. They legit fixed that problem. Personally what's happening with AE here should be put on the backburner to see how people react with the AE in AP being gone first. If that makes people play more DFB's that's basically the goal completed. It matters not what a 50 do with their time.
  4. Those are the players I spoke about above. I legit wonder if they know there's a beta branch? A lot of the characters that get PL'ed I never see them playing again. I don't know if they're changing names, hopping servers, or like I'm thinking they just wasted somebody's time PL'ing them to realize they don't like the character... A lot of the arguments are really whatever. Since the main problem is AE in Atlas Park is like half a block from the spawn point. They solved that by removing it for something else. Yet that's also like complaining about people playing DFB and ignoring Twinshot. Some people play in dead hours, other only have an hour or so to play, and a lot of people are playing at work. They play something that can be ran quickly or they can AFK and not hold the squad back. That's AE farms.
  5. AE is self contained content, I overall avoided going super hard into it, Yet I can understand why they do what they do. They're played hard enough to pay for anything out the pocket. While I played content. Like last week I played Dr Q, 6 times to get over 1200 merits which is enough to setup a new character with their own ATO set. I'm sitting on merits like some players sit on inf. Personally I don't mind them buying outright. It's just we spend our time doing what we deem most efficient. Overall this feels like the Red side vs Blue side argument. Blue is easier, the zones are nicer to look at, there's more of them and people want to be a hero even if they're called "deathbringer666" They're in AP letting anybody new get into fire farms. Red side have more interesting storylines and I like the badges. Mercy is so full of content you can easily just miss out on Port Oakes content and go right to Cap Au. Then there's Gold, when Symph rolls out I might make that a Gold character.
  6. Personally I would have just been fine with just moving of the AE's out of starter zones(really didn't matter in Mercy) yet holy crap the lag in AP. I get why you're doing this, the problem is not everybody is up for or around to do different content. Due to we're pulling people from a lot of time zones some people play in "dead" hours. If they're 50 and want to grind their own AE I don't see that as a problem. Hell, I even have my own methods for leveling to help me get the villain accolades in a pace I like. So I don't hop on those AE farms anymore. The funny thing is that I wonder do people know of the beta branch? Since I did use it to test out things that needed testing yet overall if there was build I wanted to test I did it there. So I didn't need to grind I knew what I wanted to do and how I wanted to enjoy the game. I only made my two farmers because really I was more so grinding Hami raids for merits yet I lacked influence to buy the cheaper stuff. I only made like 500mil and split that with a few characters and never hopped back in AE to grind like that again. I don't know, really. I get both sides. Where people just wanna grind/farm and help people. Then there's others that don't realize there's the beta branch and or early game solo farms that can get them to 20 in like 3-4 runs... So they don't need that carry to be honest.
  7. That's why I say change the confusion to be a stun (keep the animation tho, I love it) because that would make Synth really unique and play into it's "sonic" roots. We know Sonic Blast has ST stun and an AOE sleep that do dmg. There isn't a single Control setup that has a ST Stun they're all flavors of AOE. Even Symph's AOE stun has a unique interaction with the sleep. If the Reverb is gonna stack let me stack a stun not a confuse.
  8. This is why I say the ST confuse doesn't work on Symph. That confuse is cute can all until the Reverb wants to play and then it's dead weight. Now if it was a ST stun it's amazing and fits into the theme better. The sleep overall outside of 45+ content is perfectly fine doing damage since you since you don't have interface dots. The reason why the sleep is solid as is, all due to the -dmg so it having dmg itself makes it a useful tool once the fighting starts. It's a dam good cone, if a want a godlike sleep I got Mind and Elec. If I want a better confusion I got again Mind. Then Elec and Plant have the most aggressive confusions in the game. Symph should be in it's own niche instead of "why isn't it like this". Personally you gotta treat Symph like Grav it's way more aggressively played especially once the Reverb comes online.
  9. First off, I see everything and I mean EVERYTHING done to ITF even at 1 star is the slow down that BS we've been getting away with on normal. No more 1 guy solo'ing mission 1 and 2 while the rest of the team deals with the mobs. No more pulling everything under the arches and burning through the bosses on mission 3. Mission 4 having a bit more involved then what've been doing to rommy is amazing. A lot of my group had to leave for lunch yet at lease we got to experience what this update is gonna offer. It was AMAZING for somebody like me who will at times run back to back KM ITF's. Now you have to think, stick together and be aware of what enemies to kill last out of a mob.
  10. I get where you're coming from yet it's why I chose Paralytic over Reactive. I already have enough -res with Symph/Sonic. The sleep does work, personally the confuse should be stun. Yet making the sleep as oppressive as elec is too much.
  11. That's what I was thinking when I rolled up Sonic with Symph it just works, If you want to kick back and simply play that pair is a great time. Bleeding edge to me with Symph might be rolling it with Thermal, since will Forge bring up Reverb's echos to be more potent than what I'm able to do damage wise. It'll be a more busy setup. Even though I still gotta test it's interactions with Storm. Elec would be decent but busy, Rad and Nature might be the hardest pairings to balance personally, Cold might end up like Thermal, Time and Dark are gonna be good yet not what I want pair with Symph atm.
  12. Yeah I get it, since this control setup is very aggressive and meant to be played not as blastery like Grav yet more on pace like Fire. To be more on topic, from my tests with both Sympy/Kin and Sonic. The ST confusion is thematic yet doesn't really fit, if it was a Stun it'll be fine, as of now it being a Confuse it really doesn't work. Yet that's just my own feelings about it. This is why Symph doesn't overwrite Mind. Mind you want the confusion because you lack an Immo. So Confusions and Sleep is how I setup the field. With Symph you setup with the AOE Sleep as well yet with it's interesting interaction with the AOE Stun allows to be more aggressive.
  13. Personally I like it, the Reverb pet has the aggression level I like. Since I was running Synth/Kin the cones suited my needs I'm fine with pretty much everything doing damage. One thing I've noticed and I really like is that the stun doesn't break the sleep allowing you to set up some very interesting burst damage so as is now Synth does looks like it'll work very fine as a troller. A personal issue at least for me is that the sounded were kinda quiet. Like I have a double sonic blaster on HC and I can hear each difference in the attacks and they have some punch. Even my Kin sounds were much louder I need to get into an ITF or Market Crash to really see what this control set can really do. Going back to the pet it now reminds me of a way more involved Gun Drone. From what I'm seeing this a highly aggressive set that wants you to lean more so on the Primary over the secondary overall. So Synth is gonna be good with Kin/Storm/Sonic/FF for sure. Out of those four Sonic might be the most interesting because due to the pet's aggression it's perfect to drop the auras on it and watch it cook.
  14. Personally with Glue Arrow, I frankenslot it. Since at the end of the build your recharge is good enough. The -res proc for sure. a lot of slow/range or dmg/slow. It isn't meant to be burst it's meant to be used either before or after a Rain of Arrows. YET if you want to keep them there and do that bigger damage you want the Superior Frozen Blast set.
  15. Sonic has a lot of low investment/skippable skills so you can focus on other things. It's better played mid range with your pets to me it's very suited for a demon build. Force Field is kinda the same way but yeah boring, but powerful crazy good on robots. Cold is overall great since it's active you may want to play around with everything BUT it really doesn't have anything that protects you. I mean you can get some high def yet you won't get the mez protection as the others. As pblue said Time is the best one since it gives crazy good healing, the best aura that lowers acc to a bit over 20% which makes all the Def bonuses stack. Thugs/Time is very interesting if you can get Burnout going.
  16. For Beasts the Dire Wolf being a Sabertooth Tiger or a Polar Bear. Making the Lioness into mountain lions, or male lions/tigers, then they wolves can be coyotes or lions. For Thugs just simply all the human NPC's like RIP, Trolls, Syndicate, Warriors, Family, Destroyers. Even the Praetorian Protesters would be cool. Other than that make'em look like the Player.
  17. Just take the flying aspects over the leaping since evasive maneuvers gives a lot of def by itself and it very good when slotted like 21.1 def as a MM
  18. Seeing how the Primas and Wardens are now with Grav. I'm glad it's gone, YET it makes me think "what if it could do Wormhole..."
  19. From a recent build it's Mind/Poison controller. With procs I feel like a blaster at times. I didn't go crazy as I could yet I'm so glad we got Ice Mistral now for slows since my Neurotoxic breath is fun to use. I can also say Ice Control needs them too since you can do the same double slow damage proc on Shiver which has one of the widest arcs for anything I've seen in game. You can have a lot of fun procing Flash Freeze as well since it auto hits now. Ice/TA or Poison might be something I might plan out
  20. I'm finishing up a Demons/Sonic and its decent more so due to demons than sonic. Yes the Sonic Dispersion needs cover sleep because there's been too many times I got popped by some sleep move and I didn't even hear it. Liquify would 100% be on the build if the CD was shorter or lasted longer since it helped me solo some AV's when I was doing Scirocco's patron missions. I only picked sonic because I didn't want to heal since a lot of healing sets like Nature need you to lean on it more and knew the Ember demon's res aura would stack so overall as a group we're tanky,. Yet that psychic hole can be too nasty at times plus I couldn't get my def to way I thought it would be. So it's hit and miss in group content. Clarity wouldn't be skipped if it was an AOE and wasn't so late it's pointless 35+ you're pass the hell of Ruin Mages and other characters can cover themselves decent by that point.
  21. From what I've read ALL the Origin Pools have something "busted" about them. Personally I would want those T5 to be like 120sec so maybe squishes don't have to take Clarion at 50 or get killed by just being near all the CC mobs throw around. Like how each T5 Origin Pool soft replaces a Destiny pick. RoP is Clarion and Barrier all before lv 20 which can keep you from getting killed by Ruin Mages on Posi 1. My issue is that quite a few times I ended up being the only support on a team and you start to feel it without some sort of natural mitigation. Sonic, Elec and Traps have something to help that Mez hole yet for others you end up avoiding content. Like I know people that don't want to fight Carnies or Malta due to their mez happy ways when you slip up. Also yes Tactics, Combat Jumping and Teleport, Tough and Weave are vital as hell when you can make it fit. I WISH I could fit more build with CT since it's cool to use. Personally I don't care about flying like 100mph I just wanna Hover 40-50mph so I can just take that over Fly then use CT to poof into mobs or by allies.
  22. It wouldn't be "overperforming" if you wasn't already a Stalker. It's made to not be used by melee like that. It's something for the characters that lack protection and can give up 3 slots. Also Force of Nature and Surge Power are bad because the crash kills you, it's why melee types skip that buff in majority of builds since for one they reach their caps. So they don't need it. That's why a more frail class would skip it since it is unreliable isn't worth investing in, plus you gotta be 41 to get it. RoP is a nice pick because you can get what you need before 20 which also apply to other currently 2, and soon to be 4 origin based power pools. Looking at Gadgetry and Utility Belt both have healing based t5 for any melee is looks "too strong" yet for that controller, defender or mastermind it's nice. We gonna be right back here when the last two drop especially that UB since for sure people are gonna want that freerunning and flying kick on most melee builds. Somethings are gonna be powerful and it's fine. It's better somebody uses it over going "nah I'll skip it"
  23. It's because of something I said farther back in the thread. The 90 secs allow you to bounce it off Clarion Radial if you're running 50 content solo as a controller(mainly),defender, corruptor. Honestly for CD these t5 powers have 90 secs is nice, 2mins would be better, 1min isn't right at all. Since other classes have natural ways to protect themselves. RoP is redundant on any class that has armor yet maybe needed on one that doesn't. Which is why I also said Unleash Potential and Adrenal Booster need mez too. Since we're still missing Gadgetry and Utility Belt it is too early to talk about any sort of nerfs with these power pools to the level of nerfing RoP's time. If anything they all should last 90sec because they're gimmicky for one and clearly for character that aren't that offensively powerful to have some extra options. It's always better to buff first than nerf over just nerfing.
  24. I've tried them all RoP is the great one, Unrelenting is the worse one and UP and AB are pretty much the same. Instead of nerfing RoP the others need to brought up because their pools are interesting. Since there's still 2 more of these types of powers choices to be finished we honestly shouldn't be nerfing until we see something really broken and RoP requires you to give up something for it to work.
  25. That's the whole logic behind Sorcery, it has the most consistent set of powers. Having RoP as a pocket Clarion early is legit a life saver, the whole set is the dream for controllers. You can get "deal" with getting Tough and not Weave at times. You can skip not going all the way to Victory Rush, especially if your own end is extremely stabilized. Then Vengeance is niche but when it goes off it is nice. I don't want to skip Combat Jumping at all in pretty much any build. Finally I can skip Speed but it has some very fun gimmicks with Burnout. Between these and the Epic/Patron pools it's hard to make something unique when what's safe just works so much better.
