Octogoat Posted July 12 Posted July 12 On 7/10/2025 at 7:37 PM, VeiledOwl said: Personally, I use the 'second account as a cameraman' method (a stalker with flight and minimum height helps with angles. Mini Mode more so, but that's expensive) combined with a custom (unpublished) AE mission called 'Photo Shoot' that I tweak as needed depending on the character. The only objective is to collect an object (which disappears on collection) or free a hostage, depending on map constraints - anything that won't autocomplete before both characters enter the map. When doing this, I typically have the villain group set to 'empty' unless I'm trying to use them as a prop as well. A major limit can be the map and enemy options available, as well as finding a spot with good lighting/scenery, but a major benefit of using AE for screenshots is the 'Toggle Invisibility/Invulnerability on' setting when testing unpublished missions. It can allow the cameraman and photo target to take photos without risk (if, for example, you want an action shot of your character soloing an AV or GM). Setting an attack power on auto can also help while you spam the screenshot button on the second character. As an example of using AE to set up screenshots, here's my illusion dominator summoning more decoys than Phantom Army allows: I did this by making an Ally objective and setting the number to the maximum the map allowed. Then I made a custom character using the original's costume and rounded them all up for a picture. Speech bubbles are edited in, of course. If a character's powers aren't customized, turning them into an AE character (or using a Doppelganger) can also be a useful method to get in game shots of them. Though positioning them correctly can be an exercise in frustration (as is making them use the correct powers at the correct times), making it generally easier to just use the two accounts method. The diabolical captain obvious strikes again is what I get from that pic

temnix Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) As protein supplements declare, it is time to get Huge. Bob Raccoon Eyes Spoiler Bob Raccoon Eyes Thief Bio: "The most famous inmate in the history of the United States penitentiary system, Bob "Raccoon Eyes" Fishkin has ducked in and out of American prisons since 1916. That first conviction was for lifting the wallet off a policeman who had been beating up a pacifist, but Bob quickly moved on to bigger and better things. With 74 convictions to his name now, he has been imprisoned everywhere from Alcatraz to Camp David. To the teeth-gnashing chagrin of the Justice Department he appears to be immortal or at least has aged only by about a decade in all this time, now looking a little over forty. Across all his incarcerations and escapes Bob has been able to buy his freedom back by hiring the most outrageously expensive lawyers, no doubt with heist dough. An uncanny insight has helped him time and again... After the 1973 public demonstrations he was allowed to wear his old-time jailbird's overalls by a special act of Congress in exchange for dropping out of the race for the federal district attorney for Guam and the Northern Mariana, but Bob's action figures remain in circulation." *** "Old Atlas... I knew him pretty well back in the days, before the war. I was too small for him to catch, so we would just talk. Look at the globe they've loaded him with now." "Wentworth's... I remember when they advertised in newspapers that milk boys threw from bicycles... They ought to install a back door here, it pays off. Now what to pick? I'm kinda out of the loop when it comes to art value. But nobody will convince me that Pollock wasn't just a spray paint vandal. Nobody." "I took this eye from the Masons, but it doesn't tell me the going rates." "Pinball! My love. Not on a heist, though. Kinda noisy." "I take my fee for letting them collect insurance and stroll through this part of the city to enjoy myself. Sit down in a park for some R&R. What are these boots called, by the way? I'm used to wearing them ever since I got measured at Sing Sing, but I don't know their name. Clogs? Something else? Drop me a line, if you know. I always like to expand my vocabulary." "Then, out of nowhere, some punks appear and try to take away my cash! Well, I'm a nice guy most of the time, but this ain't a failed hug. It is a knee-in-groin. My groin, unfortunately." "Gah!" "Then I got mad. And when I get mad, everybody gets it! That's why they call me the Savage Melee Ninjitsu Stalker. In addition to Raccoon Eyes, that is." "That done, I head back towards the City Hall. Climb the roof, to the flag. Call me a rogue, but the Statesman was a real deal. He used to put me behind bars every ten years or so, but that's okay, I just ran away. I salute the fallen champs! And..." "...if this flag is made of the Statesman's only cape, it must be worth something." "To avoid temptation I slide down and go inside. I have a good reason, too..." "Excuse me, sir?" "Shut up. I got a tip there is a hidden treasure under the floor." "Well, maybe not exactly here... Aha! The wind rose marks the spot!" "And with a little effort..." "...the right tools, it's gonna be mine." "Well, I didn't find a treasure. But I assessed the assets!" "Open for business!" USSR Space Spoiler USSR Space Bio: "The space program of the Soviet Union had its spectacular breakthrough in 1957 with the launch of the first satellite, and it was continued by the first manned flight of 1959. While the United States were able to land their astranaut on the moon in 1970, the inherent contradictions of the capitalist order were already beginning to make themselves felt. Throughout the 1970s, as more and more countries joined the Soviet-Chinese block, the shriveling capitalist world fought a losing battle while the USSR flourished apace and in space. The first Earth colony, on Mars, in 2011 was a Russian-Han mission dome, and over the following century humanity expanded to twelve other star systems, discovering, meeting and accommodating many strange and alien species and several other civilizations, including the newly-peaceful Rikti. Not yet able to engineer their own portals, humans bargained to use the Rikti's for space transportation. In 2105 Cpt. Andrey Shelga went through a portal casually, but it was one by Portal Inc., and he found himself a stranger in a very strange land." *** This character moves with a Streak effect at the lowest intensity, barely noticeable. Magister Kakhran Spoiler Magister Kakhran Tuned In Bio: "When the oil tanker breached by Ms. Liberty started to sink off Port Oakes, a square, massive figure on bird legs appeared and began to make passes and drone incantations. Within a half-hour dark clouds gathered over the site of the wreck and cold winds blew. In another half-hour genuine snow began to fall, even though it was well into April. This change of weather continued, the grim figure standing by in its luxurious scarlet mantle, arms raised, while the spilling oil congealed, until an Arachnos tugboat brought the first of the containment crews, whereat the helper pushed off on an ice floe. He was assumed to have been some kind of champion, but later began to be seen around the Isles, dealing with villains and vigilantes indiscriminately to seek magic artifacts. He calls himself Kakhran and claims he is a magister of all occult arts in his home dimension. And who is to say he is not? He can throw a Skulls thug by fifty feet without moving a finger, and that is a good calling card." This is definitely one of my best costumes. *** Close portrait Full figure His path happened through Praetoria. There he is walking. It would be nice to have the hardware for a proper shadow. temnix Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM Excellent combination with that sash-wearing character, @Erratic1. I would have picked a less-saturated blue, but that might have been difficult. And @biostem as usual, with the Wrought Wrecker. In particular the pants-thighs-boots. Five more from me, and that will be enough. The Wreck of War Spoiler The Wreck of War Bio: "Also known as the Eternal Invalid, this dented and increasingly dismembered individual has appeared in many counties' chronicles of great deeds, now in the ranks of one side, now in the opposite's, to charge into the enemy with loping clangor. He has never been found afterwards among the living or the dead. Persian authors have usually identified him as a div, Arabic annalists as a shaitan, he has been a rakshasa in Hindustan and so on, a ghost or devil in Europe, of course. But as the Wreck has not stopped making his rare but memorable entrances unto the modern times, scientists have been able to run a few devices by him and wizards cast some divinations, and they all tend to the opinion that the Wreck is a natural, imperishable anomaly that accompanies or, some dissent, foretells armed conflicts. Idle tongues connect his latest visit to Arachnos' impending Project Fury." I was curious what would result if I put all of those maimed and absent parts together. *** Authorized personnel only Frontal Hello! Close view Brawl with the shield on Sort of resting Observing the scenery With Arachnos The triumph of the Wreck The Smithsonian Spoiler The Smithsonian Professor Bio: "As a young man living in Washington, D. C., Roger Jackson showed himself such an avid buff of history and archeology, such an inveterate collector of rock samples and folk ballads that his relatives eventually had to put him in an institution - the Smithsonian Institution. Administrative work soon tempered him, and for the next few decades Jackson abode as a contented if dull fixture of the museums and collections. He might have lost all of his hair before he rounded forty, but there was no better authority on the Chattanooga culture. Then, on October 1st of 1988, the Institution attained self-awareness. The fragments of past mentalities embedded in the countless artifacts of its collections had combined in a critical mass, and the museum awoke to an urgent understanding of its stated mission: "the increase and diffusion of knowledge." The vaults disgorged themselves into the outside world to study it and share of themselves, the stream of artifacts sweeping along Jackson as their spokesman, envoy, tool and puppet." At first I wanted to make a small, clerical, boring, unimposing man. But I realized that is not possible in this game. The game's models don't allow different figures and shapes of humanity, no matter how you fiddle with the sliders. Everybody struts, everybody stands with fists at the sides. Making them very thin or narrow-shouldered only makes them ridiculous. I settled for what I could achieve here with these 2004 graphics. And I used the huge, hanging-in-the-air Gunslinger belt that is obviously an unfixed clothing model bug. *** On day after work in a parking lot... What happened? Overtaken Surrender Now I am, we are thinking Feel our wrath, vandals! We require more information. More information! The power across time! The Tender Dirge Spoiler The Tender Dirge Bio: "At hospitals around the world some of the recently resuscitated have begun to tell that just as they were about to enter the big tunnel of light they glimpsed a dark figure nearby, somewhat to the side, guessed female, its arms in flowing sleeves extended as if beckoning and a melancholy reflected in the smooth and featureless oval of its face. They were much too busy to pay attention to her, outshone and outshouted from above, and eager to move into the big vortex on the other end of which already waived and jumped Christ, the Mahatmas and their dead relatives, but on the way up a low and haunting song behind distracted them... meantime the doctors were able to restart the pulse. Surgeons are skeptical, channelers are puzzled, and nobody can tell who and what this otherworldly entity is or how she can be in two places at once, for she has materialized on the Rogue Isles, served by a cadre of silent, obedient hooded warriors." A rare example of me making a Mastermind. They require far too much micromanagement to play. I spend every second clicking some kind of buttons with them. I have suggested to Homecoming's stone heads that Mastermind upgrade powers should be made autopowers, but... they drowned my appeal in the Lake of Silence. *** Figure Close-up (the top of the head is the only area that isn't reflective - it is a ninja hat) Right cheek Back. The colors of the headdress on the bottom jar with those of the neck, but it is acceptable here. Overall the pattern gives her an unexpectedly African semblance. They designed a synthetic woman, genetically connected to a number of other species, and watched her grow to adulthood in controlled conditions. As she was always accompanied by animals as a sort of troupe manager, taking cues from them and commanding them without words, the project eventually began to be internally referred to as the Merry Company. Her body temperature somehow was one important aspect of this walking symbiosis, and the company provided technical enhancements to that end. In October of 2023 the kibbutz was raided and smashed by Palestinian terrorists, and the Manager and her animals were kidnapped. They reappeared changed after a year in hell." This is a costume I owe completely to the random generator! Hence the only two colors used. I even got both kittens from it as well as the path aura. I only snapped a few screenshots, taking advantage of a portal to Ouroboros someone had left open, but it is the best combination for having as many living creatures around as possible: the bats circle, the kittens sits on the shoulders, and eventually she would have a pack of beast henchmen. I would have to recolor the kittens and the bats and make them realistic if I were to actually play this character, but it is like this that she makes the most striking impression. The secondary set is Thermal, she gushes fire on top of it all. *** 1 2 A close-up with kittens Down! Arrival on Mercy Standing tall - the fate of kings Portrait. The face and hands are Spectrum. With a dark background.
