Rylas Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 As the title implies, I'll be rolling this brute up this evening. I had an opportunity to really test out Bio Armor on the test server before the game was shuttered, so I know what kind of greatness it's capable of. I thought Radiation Melee sounded like a good combo with it and was wondering if anyone could suggest power selection order while leveling up. Any good strengths/weaknesses to be aware of? Any powers that are skippable? Request hi-res icons here. Download the Icon Pack here!
Steam_InGen Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 I personally was concerning Rad/Elec myself, good dps on the melee and good survival on the def. With Rad/elec you could farm, run mishes, TFs, and raids. Plus I think Elec has good hold resists. I can post my build in a bit. Until the world goes cold, nothing will keep me from this throne, I'll fight.

My main back in the day was an SS/Elec Brute (Durahell, Protector). /Elec is indeed a fun and viable set. Combined with def and +rech IO sets, it was incredibly tough to kill. That said, I was highly impressed with /Bio when testing it during i24 beta, so I'm determined to give it a go. Anything you can suggest or discuss about Rad Melee would be awesome though. Def post that build, thanks! Request hi-res icons here. Download the Icon Pack here!
Ironscarlet Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Amazing combo have a tank almost 30 massive aggro I have no taunt 2 dot aura anything around me is aggro to me I can herd rooms with massive res . It reminds me of Ice/fire tank bust instead of Knockdown you get massive def/res debuff and It allows your team to go up to +3+4 because they can hit mobs easier around you.
Fedifensor Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I'm trying out a Rad/Bio build as well. It looks to be perhaps the best PBAoE brute in the game, with 2 damage auras and multiple PBAoE attacks. However, it's a late bloomer, with the majority of the PBAoE showing up at level 32+, and the second damage aura does not appear until 35. Most of the powers are useful, so it's hard to figure out what to skip to fit in powers like Tough, Weave, and Hasten.

I would say the AoE damage output is pretty damn sweet, but I'm not sure it could beat out other builds like Spines/Fire (not that I've played them). I'm considering how I'd like to IO him out. At the moment I would like to hit the S/L softcap, and get plenty of recharge in there. I'm also debating taking out Proton Sweep. It's not *horrible* per se, but I find most melee cones are highly situational considering how mobs like to cluster around you. I've been soloing +2/x8 and melting mobs pretty easily. That's just on basic IOs and combining inspirations for purples. I've only just started putting in some Incarnate slots. At the moment I know I'll want Musculature Core Paragon in the Alpha slot for the 45% Damage boost and 33% Def Debuff, and pair that with Reactive Interface for additional res debuff and fire procs. I'm aiming to be a def/res debuff monster. Still need to figure out which mastery pool to go with (if any). And if any number cruncher wizards can tell me which Reactive Flawless translates to more damage, that would be great. Request hi-res icons here. Download the Icon Pack here!
HelenCarnate Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 For the epic pool it all depends on what you plan on doing. Bio is good all around so I plan on running TFs instead of farming. I plan on going with soul because gloom hits pretty hard and the to hit debuff meshes well in those cases you get defense debuffs on you. If you plan on mainly farming then Mu for the 2 more aoe attacks.

If you plan on mainly farming then Mu for the 2 more aoe attacks. I'm hoping to use Him as a little more all-purpose. I enjoy farming part of the time, but also like really pulling my weight in teams. Especially if I can be a tanky-brute. I was actually thinking Soul Tentacle, Dark Obliteration and Darkest Night if I could fit all three in. I feel like Rad/ doesn't lack for good ST damage, so another cone and AoE would be nice, as well as the debuffs you mentioned. Request hi-res icons here. Download the Icon Pack here!

Ironscarlet Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Don't have a brute but have a Bio/rad tank and usually feels to beefy so in a brute you might be in that sweet spot. 2 damage aura that debuff really help the team and your agro managment. This combo excels at large groups but is a little weaker vs solo AV/boss watch out for large chunks of up being taken vs big bosses although they can be fix with one of 3 reg heal powers you must be on your game but it's a very hands on Armor that when played right is very strong in any situation just might not be the best over ALL at one thing but is very good at everything .
