Heraclea Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 Rolled this character today and got her to level 27 on the strength of a couple DfBs, both Positrons, and a Synapse. I do not think I have ever made a character with the severe to the point of unplayable endurance issues that this one has. Titan Weapons was not this bad. Three defensive toggles and two offensive, and I have no idea how this character will ever be able to run Tough and Weave on top of that. The character did fine on Synapse, but all she had to do was attack two or three times and the toggles were in danger of all dropping. The offensive toggles meant that all she had to do was stand there and mobs eventually died. But that really isn't interesting as a play style, or really what I imagined a brute would do. My ability to absorb Clockwork alphas was rather satisfactory as I figured it would be, but after that there wasn't much I was able to do. Slotted the Miracle proc at 17, just slotted the Numina proc, and the Performance Shifter, and if I keep on playing this one will need the Panacea as well. Do I just have to wait for Power Sink to make it all better? And assuming I get that far: Power Surge - is it the skippable suicide button that it seems to be? I ordinarily would give a hard nope to that drastic crash, but I seem to remember some people claiming that it was the linchpin of the set in the old game. I may be misremembering. Sovera Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 You ought to have slotted the Panaceia proc first as it is the best enduranc recovery one slotter, but the difference will be minimal. keep in mind if your experience is solely doing Posi and Synapse (and Yin next) that your enemies are Clockwork and Freakshow who are tremendous endurance drainers. In any case you will get Energize ay 28 which doubles as heal and endurance reduction. You ought to be fine after this which will give you time to slot your attacks better. Perhaps toss us your current build as it? - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
Heraclea Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 One of the attractions of Electric Armor is its high resistance to endurance drain. I thought that would be more impressive in practice. I did just get Energize and gave it three slots of recharge. I have it on autopilot now.; the endurance discount seems quite valuable. Its rough until you get to power sink then you wont have any other worries, once you get slotted out completely you can pretty much drop power sink at that point. I posted my build for reference, and its literally one of the strongest i have ever played, and my first Uber build on homecoming. I mained it from June to august roughly. Infinitum Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) and yeah you wont need power surge if you spec out solidly. the only thing you will have to worry about with this build is Toxic and even then if you are on your toes, isnt really a huge worry, but it can slip up on you. lol if you want i can AE you past the rough stages, Im on victory if you are interested look me up. However those early stages do give you an appreciation later on how to survive worst case scenarios with that set. Edited December 15, 2019 by Infinitum
Heraclea Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather learn the character in live scenarios while I get my TF Commander and Atlas badges. Don't see a need for Taunt on the character, not with those two auras working. On the cusp of 30 and the slots levels right now, so I expect more from the armors especially soon. Once you get smashing lethal to 80+ % you should be pretty sturdy at any given situation. Energy resistance starts strong from the ground up on elec, but just about everything has smashing lethal components so thats first priority to get those bonuses up in the armors or attacks so you can survive better. Once you get to end game a build like mine is pretty much Godmode aside from a few weird situations.

Pick anything to replace proton sweep. Cause it's horrible. Long animation, paper thin cone, underwhelming damage. I would swap combat jumping in earlier near its spot by some strategic re arranging, and mule the reactive defenses proc in it so you have flat res then scaling early on in an equally useful power. Then swap something better in its place - I'm anti T9 usually - but I would pick the t9 instead of proton sweep to free up a resistance proc slot by muling it in the t9 and freeing up the slots you currently have in proton sweep. On paper proton sweep looks good, but in practice there are better ways to go. Maybe by getting the 6 slotted Gaussian defensive bonus in fusion.

I was so underwhelmed by Radiation Melee in general, and then THAT icing on a crap-cake? No thank you. I really, REALLY wanted the contamination thing to work better than it does; what I would have liked to have seen is Proton Sweep be a 100% Contamination spreader, so it could have a viable use (paired with the siphon, anyway). The mechanics Radiation Melee are wonky and every time I play it, I wished it was Dark Melee (which can be colored to look like radiation clouds, so there). Besides, if I wanted to stand around (rooted!) while my attacks go off, I'd play Titan Weapons. You know your MAIN powerset's cone attack sucks when you consistently rely on Sands of Mu. Oh, and to the OP, yeah, the TFs you did are all -END, essentially. As I've always said, -endurance mobs in the 10-25 level range is about as awesome a design as mobs that do TOXIC at level 10 (hello, Vahz). Good stuff. Edited December 22, 2019 by r0y
