New to Blastering. Good pairing for a survivable toon

Thank you kind sir. That looks quite excellent. I have been playing since I1 (stopped in 2007) so I'm not new to positioning or melee etc. I just have never really embraced the Blaster until recently seeing some damn tough examples. So I think I'll give it a go....

I am currently rolling a dual pistols/archery blaster who can take on anything but an AV solo. I grabbed assault, maneuvers, and tactics from the leadership power pool and combined with the holds I get from archery and the secondary damage from change ammo type power I pretty much blow through anything. Just last night on a radio mission team I got attacked by a group hiding in a room no one else on the team saw. They were all over me but with some careful back tracking and slowly taking my shots I got them all and never went below 50% on my health. I also slotted end reductions into everything so my end never goes below 1/4 even blowing through my entire attack chain. This is by far the most fun and best surviving blaster build I have created so far.

I know you picked /Elec but /Devices is actually a super chill blaster secondary. You get a stealth, your sustain power is a toggle, and targeting drone gives you a lot more snipe damage and allows you to slot some interesting IOs and gives a huge tohit buff. The recovery one Field Operative is as strong as Stamina. Both of those slotted up basically removes your endurance bar from the game.

The stealth will give you the ability to get in close to nuke with complete safety. You can use it with super speed for near total stealth. That's if you don't take a PBAoE nuke.

Trip Mine and Time Bomb were both buffed to remove the interrupt. Time Bomb still kinda sucks but trip mine is great.

You should give it a chance!

Just got my Ice/atom to 25. Really liking the combo so far. Having that much recharge is nice. I can see why Fire/atom would be popular.

I 2 slotted stamina and health and I never run out of end. Even in the 30s and up. It’s ridiculous. If I ever needed to steal a slot from somewhere I would take it from stamina.

I will post my build later on when I get to my computer.

I have to say, despite some bad press (usually from people who haven't levelled to swap ammo yet) , DP is incredibly versatile. switching ammo especially allows you to do some disgustingly controllery things when you find yourself in over your head, and when switching back to fire ammo, you can deal out as much as any other blaster.

I am running a DP/temp blaster and just for giggles I ran him through a 4/8 s/l asteroid farm. He handled it with pretty much no problems whatsoever, and ripped through the thing almost as quickly as my claws/fire brute. Yes, there were a few tricky moments, but switching to ice ammo (for slows) and default ammo (for knockdown) and then back into fire was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Perhaps these effects do not work as well on a defender or a corrupter, but among blasters and sentinels DP is absolutely one of, if not THE, top-tier sets in survivability and dps.

Dark/Energy/Soul  Energy has Power Boost which will enhance the -hit of your dark blast powers as well as the self heal. Boost Range vastly increases the range of all your cones (and you'll have many) making them affect whole groups of enemies from a long range. Two of your cones are immobilizers so it really good at KEEPING enemies as range. As an added benefit Negative Energy is rarely resisted. The ONLY downside is that Dark's nuke is PBAOE so you'll have to stop your chain of cones to move into melee and use it. Which I, personally, find annoying and I tend to only use it as an emergency button. I like giving the shorter ranged cones +range enhancements so that there's a consistent range between all of them. Pop your self buff powers before the fight starts or you'll spend half of the each battle locked in self buff animations.
