Quick question about Proton Sweep

Is Proton Sweep better now after the tanker changes from awhile ago or is it still bad?

It is "bigger", going from 74 degree arc to 111.

 

Better is somewhat subjective.  I still wouldn't like it.

Cool.  I'm debating if my next tanker should be DA/TW or DA/Rad and was wondering if Proton Sweep was worth picking up now.

I use it on my Tanker, where I respecced out on my Brute.  It's... okay.  If the cone wasn't wider for Tanker I'd give it another pass.

It just feels too slow, especially for what it does, kinda like jacobs ladder both are flow killers.

I like it now. I find it very easy to hit a lot of targets, and it does good damage. Wish the DoT was a little more front-loaded but it hits pretty hard and now in crowds it hits a whole lot of targets. I think you'd need to be fighting a horde of something like rikti monkeys to hit the cap of 10, but hitting 6-7 at a time is pretty common.  If I'm fighting a boss, obviously I'm not using it. If I'm farming, I use it a lot. With cases in between on a by-case basis. I think it's a useful tool to have in the arsenal now--on a tank.

Oddly enough I like it on my brute and people seem to dislike on brutes.  I never have any issues with it and it is one of my default attacks for me.  I imagine it is only better on a tanker where it is significantly wider.

As a friend of mine noted, for a Tanker the Dot taking so long to apply is kind of a plus, that way the enemies are continually aggravated by it.

Despite the changes, I don’t find it useful enough to change my Rad/Rad Tanker build for it.
