If you had to skip one TW attack...

Generator

Recommended Posts

Skippable TW powers:

-Titan Sweep (you can get enough AoE to do without it - recommend this early on though)

-Defensive Sweep (good power, but low damage, can be easily skipped if you have the defenses soft-capped without it or just generally want better powers)

-Crushing Blow (you can go without it toward the end, recommended early on, but if you have several single target powers + AoD, can be redundant/never used)

-Taunt

agree with Zera (again, heh).

dunno what your variables are, but:
my TW is a /Rad Scrap, so i took Def.Sweep to use as a poor-man's form of DDR if needed & protect my softcap. if the secondary provided 50% or more DDR, i'd consider C.Blow instead. i happen to like T.Sweep, but mostly because i've got Moonbeam ...on a Brute, i think i might swap that for C.Blow so i'd still have 3 ST attacks to chain.

KD + Dmg is Taunt, imo. 😊

Thanks so much for the replies so far.

To give a little detail: I started a TW/Elec brute today.  No real plans for him, not intended as a max-performance, or farmer build, but just someone to smash the crap out of the Rogue Isles.

Now, I don't have a Mids build for this, but I do have an old Elec/Elec build.  If my starting point is to just swap out the primary, I have to lose one attack power, as on the Elec, I passed on Lightning Clap.  So I have to ditch one attack (for purposes of this exercise, Taunt and Build Up aren't "attack powers").

All three of the one Zeraphia mentions are powers I've currently got, so I'll have to do a Respec down the line to ditch something.

Thanks again, people!  Anyone else with advice, I'm happy to hear it.

had one as a Tank - good combo, and the only Tank i've enjoyed playing...ever. Melee softcap, nearly Res capped to all but Tox, great Rech, solid Heal & Regen ...hope ya enjoy it the same.

Cool, if you've got a build, I'd love to take a peek. 😁

Thanks for the peek.  If I might ask, I noticed you have neither Crushing Blow nor Follow Through.  Do you not exemplar low, did you do something different at early levels, or were the two Sweeps + Lightning Field enough to get by in the teens?

Thanks again.

Taunt is the only skippable.  Both my titan characters do not have hasten, Tough taken at level 28/30/35 and weave at 35/38 and only mild 10-20% global recharge not counting Mako's Bite/eradication enhancements.  Having all attacks gives me both a solid attack chain for aoe and single

titan/wp scrap

titan/dark brute

and even then i took taunt at 49 with the brute..

TW is a very end heavy attack set.  So yeah, I coasted through the lower levels with not much for attacks because I was sucking wind more than anything if I did.  Once I was able to start slotting level 30 IO's things got a little bit more manageable on the Endurance front.

Titan Weapon is a self contained set, the only skippable power in it is Taunt. Being so well rounded you don't need any patron/epic power pools to make it function really well provided you have a secondary that has some good end regen in it. Rad, Bio, Willpower (really need to have Performance Shifter + Numina, Miracle, Panaces IO procs) and the like will let you be a one man show.
Defensive Sweep is good to have at the early levels, but is really lackluster once you get higher up and you have proper defenses. It's still good to have as a 1 slot wonder power to use as a Luck of the Gambler mule though

On a tw/bio I skip defensive sweep. It just isnt needed once fully built.

I'm like 14 right now, pretty far from "fully built".  Hell, even when I hit 50 this guy will probably not be fully optimized, just the way I go with alts and builds.

I'm going to reemphasize a point that seems to have been overlooked by several respondents.  When I initially posted this, I was specifically looking at an attack power to skip, i.e. not Taunt or Build Up.  Skipping Taunt would leave me with a power I was trying to use as a One-Slot Wonder, as that's how I usually slot Taunt.

However, I think I might have my solution.  As I looked at the Elec^2 who is the working base of this build, I remembered that I used to slot Power Surge with a full set of Lockdown, so as to maximize the Hold at the end of the power.  As power creep has escalated and my builds have gotten tougher, I find I rarely actually use Power Surge.  So, I can drop that from the build and see what that does for me.  I'll work up a proper build and if I need further feedback, I'll post it.  Thanks to all of you for the support!
