I recently got reamed on a Facebook page that I just recently joined for saying that the Homecoming team made changes that SCORE actually made, and also was told other things that I'd supposedly said about a month ago that not only did I not say, but I've not even been around that long (only since the 29th here, and less than a week in that Facebook group) EDIT reason: To remove possible 'drama' and focus on the question itself. But still, these forums were score.savecoh.com until recently, now that site redirects here... ? Also when I first started playing on the 29th, Tequila said SCORE now it says Homecoming. Homecoming uses SCORE's codebase, and Leandro (who headed what has been labeled SCORE) is part of the Homecoming team as a tech specialist. I am not aware of any other connections between the two. In fairness, Leandro is the only one we know of from SCoRE working on Homecoming As he is the only one from SCoRE to come forward. This is not to say those working on Homecoming were part of SCoRE, just that we don’t know one way or the other with the exception of Leandro. Doesn’t make much of a difference to me, tbh. Leandro is talked about as though he's working with the team from the outside, but I feel the difference between whether he's inside or outside the team is semantic. Once the dust settles and things seem to be as clear as they can be, I genuinely hope that as many who can come forward and speak on who they are, where they come from, how they became a part of this thing. Some may not care, but at this point in time, I feel it's fair to be skeptical of things and ask questions within reason. The Homecoming team looks as though they're attempting to be the big unofficial official comeback server, and my big questions are: how do they intend to moderate well over 5k players and looks to be growing? Who are those people, and is their safety along with the community's part of the ongoing conversations? They are likely getting unpaid, untrained staff, understandable, but knowing these things in a single reference source would be great, along with a general timeline on how Homecoming formed, as much as we can know about the people behind the project (devs, mods, GMs, etc), and what the long term and short term plans are. We'd be good not lashing out or being defensive at anyone for questioning or being skeptical unless they're very clearly trying to provoke, cuz the answer is no one really knows for sure, and the info we do know is scattered across forums, discords, and reddits. I'm sure many of the mods are in the dark on a lot of things as well, that would be another thing to know from the team. Unless I'm totally wrong and there is a source out there and I've missed it. Yea, I actually edited my post because of that first comment wondering if I was just trying to stir up drama, as I had originally reiterated what was said to me by someone else... so based on what he said, pretty sure he was very clearly trying to provoke me as he was accusing me of having said things I never said, much less before I even knew these servers existed. Remember when Bree was nuked because some **** conned the server operator into believing there was an imminent nuke from NCSoft legal department? Nobody was able to start up Torchbearer without getting Leandro on call. I see enough inexperience, missteps and lack of preparation to tell me that the team behind Homecoming didn't come to this with much experience in operating a private server and had to plan on the go - not something we'd see if they had any experience and information from operating the secret server. The code is out, the ability run a server exists for anyone, and there are code geeks already making modifications. IMO, the Homecomming servers, because of the people and population involved, will probably be the most pragmatic and attempt to be the most 'original' - there is a huge push even in-game on teams to move backward to i24, for example. IMO, there will be other servers popping up with even fewer restrictions, higher XP, modded content, etc. that will be deemed 'unworthy' by many 'old school' players - already seen this in-game and in forums over 'too much XP'. IMO, I think we will see servers that do things no one here has contemplated for some time - free form power choices anyone? Sounds delicious. Like many others, this game is no longer under the control of any one entity and it is going to be great to see all the snowflakes get created, IMO. So, SCoRE opened the box, but there is no putting the code back in it and Homecomming does not actually have a monopoly, just an early lead with long-time fans though the secret server and Titan. I don't really care who did what at this point, drama-wise. There are personalities around this thing I have never trusted, never will, who I am sure do not like me at all. In the end, being able to walk the streets of Paragon once again (likely for the rest of our lives if w so choose) is the only thing that really matters.
