DISCLAIMER:  I haven't actually made this build in beta or otherwise yet.

 

I've been fiddling around with this build for a while now and I can't get it to where I want it. I'm looking for soft-capped positional defenses but any way I can see to increase one drops another. I'd also like more recharge but it seems like I would have to sacrifice some defense, which is a higher priority for me.

Any ideas or advice? I'm open to switching around power selection or Epic pools or whatever.

Softcapping positional defenses is something you will not get on a DA or if you did, that build would be so gimped it would be unplayable plus, lack of defense debuff protection would make the effort pretty much futile. I'd say to focus on S/L/Melee defense and build up your resistances. Also, although probably not so much on a stalker, I am one of those weird guys who believe Dark Armor's survivability is a mix of everything, def, res, mez and dmg so i'd take Oppressive Gloom. If you focus your build in S/L/Melee def instead of positionals, not only will be much easier to achieve, you will also be able to address other problems such as high endurance consumption.

I guess I understand prioritizing melee and smashing/lethal, but are ranged and AoE really not that much of a concern? Having never played a stalker before I don't really know.
For Oppresive Gloom how does it work? does it give -regen? or is it effectively a damage tick on yourself? and is it lot? Mids isn't very helpful with it unfortunately and the description makes it sound more dangerous than I would think it's worth.

I have started one of these as well, sort of a Nightcrawler homage, but not a mutant blue demon at all! I did take Teleport.
Can anyone recommend an Ancillary or Patron Pool route they like?
Any other builds or ideas where best to put the ATOs?

I went mu on my sav/shield for even more aoe + snipe.

I'd probably go soul on /dark tho. Shadowmeld is hard to pass up. You definitely want a snipe though since hemo was overnerfed. 

 

Chance for build up goes anywhere. It is passive. Just make sure you use said power at least once when you log in (maybe per map?) or it seems to fail to trigger.

 

Chance for hide should go in AS so you can follow up with snipe crit for bosses. Or rending flurry crit for groups. It is pretty effective.

 

Although one could see some value from putting it on savage leap too. But I feel other procs are better there.
