Outside of that, it looks good - I would just put a decimation BU proc there 😜 . I think Poison Trap still uses accuracy though so that might need 1. 

 

Either way, Im gonna do another poison build from this... moving away from my lovely Corruptors for it this time I think... but I can't pass up sonic on a defender so I just converted it over to a Poison/Sonic, lol.

 

I'm not totally sold on Paralytic Poison/entomb. I'd maybe consider dropping the goal of 45% Negative in favor of getting the 8% +scaling resists, which I'm pretty sure will increase your survivability more than 2.5% Negative... probably would have to take SJ with Blessing though and move some slots to Maneuvers to bring the ranged back to 45. YMMV, maybe you're trying to use Entomb for some self preservation stuff - though I hear it is pretty good in PTrap.  Love to hear thoughts on that choice. 

 

(Oh, and move your +max hp over to Elixir of life instead of Tough)

It's a very different direction than I went, but it looks quite solid.

 

-I think you won't use paralytic very much in actual play.

-The 2 defender procs are a huge boon survival. I personally get them into blaze and blazing bolt, which are my main 1-2 attacks. That might be challenging for your build. Fireball is a fine spot for the absorb though for group play, but could be missed vs AV's and such.

-If you are teaming a lot then I like your slotting of tactics. If you aren't then I'd flip tactics and aim. The on demand damage boost of aim+Gaussian is really nice.

-You mentioned +5'ing most enhancements. Keep in mind this will greatly impact their ability to exemp down and retain bonuses (pvp and purples not included). If that is something that is important to you.

I like the idea of putting those procs in my main attack! It’s my first defender! I like all the info you gave me! Thx

Okay so i updated the build. Tried to put a little bit more proc action into it. But havnt put it into play yet. Let me know what you think. Again this is with solo play in mind with ofcourse . Im not sure how good the entropic chaso's are.

Gonna change the procs out of kick. Tried it out and it just wasn't satisfying

Why go for typed defense when we can go for positional defense with a lot more recharge and soul drain instead? We also get soul consumption to help us with end drain, although it does have a long cd. As long as you get your accolades, I don't think end will be a problem.

I also saw you don't have to many procs in your attacks. Those help me solo bosses so fast.

I have not played with it, I just like making builds. soul drain and much more recharge should make up for the lack of procs. Poison doesn't have any +def so you have to lose procs for survivability.

I am just now learning about positional defense. It seems like a good fit for poison. I really liked your build but I new you could fit more dmg into it and added proc dmg to my 2 main attacks. My DEF is almost 45% for melee and range. Havn't played it yet. But it looks promising for a fire/poison so far. Please share more tips 😃 they are super helpful. If the 2 build up procs go off with a good soul drain I can hit dmg cap. So it says.

@Frosticus  any tips? I feel like this is a better direction

You can go this route, but you will be taking almost twice as much damage as my build.  The reason for this is that you will be getting hit 10% of the time compared to 5% of the time and God help you against mezzing enemies, you'll just faceplant (you can use clarion to prevent this though). Personally I think that extra 5% is a huge deal and 100% necessary when dealing with a pairing like poison/fire because it has no way to heal and so you can't recover from any of the damage you do take. You'll do a bit more proc damage to single targets with your build, but I don't think its worth the loss in survivability. Its up to you though, if you duo or team a lot with someone who can heal I wouldn't worry about. For all around things I'd still go with my build.

I do run clarion on the cooldown so I don't have to worry about mez, and I run the 45% end reduc alpha when I solo. No end problem at all. I've been running 54+8 all morning with this set up and it'ss working fabulously.

I've tried running 45% on DEF and the dmg out put is just to slow and it comes with more end use cause it does take a few more attacks to kill things and it doesn't fit poisons theme imo. The procs really make this set shine.

Meh, clarion alone leads to sad times - as if you’re debhuffed as it falls off you’re zzZIng, which is only a big deal because gas falls off and slows you down!

It is pretty much perma if you go the left side of the tree. That part depends on the player.

Doesn't matter, it's perfectly timed - so you can't avoid the hold hitting even though it'll recast immediately X_x. If you have a Hold on you and it wears off, you'll be dropping Gas, recasting Clarion while held, and recasting Gas 😞 gotta stagger it with something.

Its just another whole in poisons weakness. This hasn't really killed my enjoyment of the set. Its minor at most. The rez from Dark epic might be fun to have then =P. All ive been playing is poison for the last month and a half and i can't stop. such a fun set. And im finding new ways every week how to play and build my guy.

So I worked on a new build this morning to try and keep my positional defense (range/melee) with a good amount of resistance this time. If I pop 1 purple id hit 45% for Range and melee. Soul Drain is almost perma and hasten is pretty much perma or just about. . Can't say its great yet haven't play tested it. Need to farm a little to pick up the missing Enhancements. This build is a little bit more team friendly too it seems (with the rez ha). Let me know what you think. I'm trying real hard to avoid the sorcery power pool. I really don't like that set. Its just a personal preference

I’ll check the build a little later, but I hate sorcery so I don’t blame you lol.

 

i personally only team anyways when I’m not high (like I was on my empath with you the other day haha)... but I don’t mind being under 45 because I usually end up at 70-90% with team maneuvers, though you do tend to run off on your a bit hah 😉

I got tired of those damn psi nukes. Wanted to see if I can lower the dmg it does to me.
 

But yeah I ran the build and definitely see the difference from 45% when I solo. Need to be carful when I run off on my own now haha. They should just turn poisons heal into a healing aura power. Rad gets one 😞. Would round out the set better imo
