What are the standard powers and sets you take at 50 to make your blaster more tanky?

I have my first 50 blaster - sonic/sonic.  I have Tough, Weave, Combat Jumping, and Sound Barrier from */sonic.  I've slotted them with full set Red Fortune, full set Aegis, full set LoTG, and then the mix of the Unique enhancements like Steadfast +3% and Gladiator's +3%.  I am an unkillable beast with normal level 50 content but if I wander into DA Moth Cemetery I am tissue paper.

Any advice? Thanks guys.

The incarnate-oriented mobs have higher base To-Hit, so they will hit you more often than mobs in normal missions. I assume the ones in Moth Cemetery follow this rule, and it's really painful for squishies using high Defenses.

Mez them first, Stun/Sleep them, etc. You cannot depend on passive defenses as much, so letting them attack you and trusting in your defenses to passively handle incoming fire is a recipe for running out of Awakens. With Sonic Blast, you can use Siren's Song to sleep them all, then wake them one at a time with Screech. Doing AoE damage is... risky. But you may be able to do it with heavy use of Shockwave to keep knocking them down. But the short version is to try to limit incoming fire from high-accuracy mobs, rather than trying to survive it.

This is not that kind of game where slotting full sets give you the most benefit toward your build goals.

Secondly are you staying still facing incarnate level BP and talons etc? they have location patches that hurt if you stay in them. The solution: move out of the patch. Also what is your difficulty set on? What level mobs are you fighting against relative to you?

Liberty, Torchbearer, Excelsior, Everlasting

Here's a quick and dirty Energy/Devices build I threw together. The power selection order is probably not ideal but it generally has the basics of what you need to dish it out and take it. Has softcapped S/L/E defense (the most common damage types), some modest resistance to S/L/F/C/T damage and minor resistance to E/N/P. Also has perma-Hasten and some additional self-healing (on top of your regen from Field Operative) from heal procs in Health and Stamina. Some people prefer focusing mostly on ranged defense and that's perfectly valid. I prefer S/L/E since it covers the bulk of the damage types you encounter and because there are some maps that are cramped and don't allow you to stay at range.
